Karaktärstuga i det vackra toppområdet

Button Cottage ligger i byn Wensley i Peak District National Park. Den fristående stugan består av arbetarstugor inbyggda i kullen och omvandlades till dess nuvarande layout på 1980-talet men behåller ursprungliga funktioner. Under renoveringar upptäcktes knappar i fundamenten som gav stugan sitt namn.

Stugan rymmer upp till sex personer i tre välmöblerade och bekväma dubbelrum och har två badrum på övervåningen, ett välutrustat kök och tvättstuga och bekvämt vardagsrum / matsal och parkering utanför gatan i ett garage. Den är idealisk lämpad för familjer eller vänner för korta pauser och längre semester och är tillgänglig året runt.

Det är 5 minuter från Matlock och Bakewell, Haddon Hall och Chatsworth House inom 15 minuters bilresa. Promenader startar från ytterdörren och det finns cykelleder (Monsal & Tissington Trails) i närheten och Carsington Water ligger 15 kilometer bort.

Bottenvåning: vardagsrum / matsal, kök med frukostbar och tvättstuga, hall och tillgång till garage.

Första våningen: Sovrum 1: King size-säng. Sovrum 2: Dubbelsäng. Sovrum 3: enkelsängar. Badrum 1: dusch och toalett. Badrum 2: badkar med duschmontering och toalett. Sängkläder och handdukar ingår.

Utanför: liten terrasserad trädgård nås via bakdörren på första våningen med en dekorerad yta och trädgårdsmöbler.

Parkering: En liten / medelstor bil i garaget och framför stugan.

Faciliteter: Centralvärme för gas och eldstad. Resesäng och barnstol. Freeview-TV med DVD-spelare. Gratis BT-bredband och wi-fi. Bluetooth högtalare. Gasspis, elektrisk enkelugn, mikrovågsugn, tvättmaskin / torktumlare, diskmaskin, kyl och frys. Ett litet bibliotek med böcker inklusive vandrings- och cykelleder, information om platser att besöka och DVD-skivor.

Den närmaste puben är Stag and Hounds, i Darley Bridge som ligger 10 minuters promenad. Det finns en community-butik i det närliggande Winster och Matlock har en M & S-mathall, Sainsbury's och en Co-op.

Tillgång till första våningen är via två trappor inklusive en spiraltrappa från köket, det finns en dörr med låg höjd från ena sidan av sovrummet och några ojämna beläggningssteg i trädgården. Tyvärr, inga husdjur och rökning.

A fantastic and really spacious property in the perfect location

What a wonderful cottage! We were four adults staying here for a weekend and it was absolutely perfect - beautifully furnished, clean and with everything we could want. The beds were comfortable and the showers really excellent. The cottage was in a lovely quiet village location but just a few mins drive from the local amenities. The best thing was the amount of space though, it is really huge - more than enough room for 4 adults to have a very comfortable weekend. Thank you very much again Geoff and we will definitely be back!!

Nice cottage, BUT no fans working in bathrooms.no fan installed in kitchen, lost count off spiders after removing over at least 30. Needs deep clean to carpets and soft furnishings. TLC needed.

Button Cottage is a lovely cottage, very centrally placed for getting out and about in Derbyshire. The cottage is charming but - as you might expect from something that's both on a slope and converted from an older building - there are some small steps to get from room to room.

Lovely house in a great part of the world

We very much enjoyed our short break here, visiting Chatsworth and walking in the surrounding area. The house is well kitted out and despite being called Button Cottage, is roomy and spacious. We had a problem with the boiler pressure when we arrived but the owner was very helpful over the phone, and sent out someone to help fix the problem, we were very grateful for their speedy assistance. Thank you!

A lovely cottage - nice thick stone walls made it cool inside during the hottest week of the year! All as described, with a lovely welcome package, and good communication with the owner. The perfect base for a week in the Peaks.

Clean and comfortable but right next to a road.

Lovely scenery great location to access Matlock, Bakewell, Chatsworth, etc. Lovely cottage - clean and comfortable ...all utensils/equipment provided. However, located right next to a road. Local shops but none within walking distance for us.

Good accommodation so we'd return

We had chosen the property carefully to fulfil the requirements of our group and it did not disappoint. The cottage is very well equipped and booking in etc was seamless. We had a problem with the shower flooding and one or two other little maintenance issues need seeing to but overall we'd definitely recommend the property and would have no hesitation in using it again. It's on a fairly busy road which none of us are used to at home, but it didn't overly disturb us.

60th Birthday celebrations

The cottage was lovely, easily big enough for our family to live in for the 3 days we were there. Everything was at hand and the owner very kindly left us some refreshments plus a bottle of wine. The bedrooms were perfectly situated for our needs and the beds were comfortable. Overall everything worked out perfectly for us and I can recommend the cottage for anyone wanting to explore Derbyshire as it was ideally located.

Wonderful cottage in beautiful countryside

We loved our stay at Button Cottage. The cottage itself is very comfortable, welcoming and relaxing. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The living room is generous, with two sofas and at armchair plus a dining table. There is a big TV with lots of options. The hearing works well and there’s a gas fire which is lovely. There is a good sized entrance hall, perfect to coats (there is a ample coat hanging space) and muddy shoes. The bedrooms are comfortable, big beds with good mattresses and good storage space for clothes etc. the two bathrooms are modern, clean and convenient. Geoff was available to help and assist with our questions. Wensley is a small hamlet, very quiet and with the countryside just outside. There are lots of walking routes around. We would love to come back!

Fantastic cottage.

Just back from a really lovely stay in Button cottage. The booking process was easy and the communication from the owner was outstanding. The cottage was spotless, comfortable and deceptively big, plenty of room for 3 couples. There was thoughtful treats left for us which was a lovely touch. The kitchen is so well equipped, there was plenty of plates, cutlery, mugs etc making it so easy and everywhere was tastefully decorated. It didn’t take long to drive into Matlock and only 15 minutes drive from Bakewell. Value for money for this property was exceptional and we would definitely stay again.

Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location ideal for visits to Matlock and Matlock bath

We had a fabulous stay at Button cottage. The cottage was very well equipped, everything you could need. The beds were so comfy. Geoff responded very quickly when we had a query regarding the heating, and he had left a lovely bottle of wine and a tray of welcome treats for us. We will definately like to return to Button cottage.

Lovely stay

The cottage is spacious ,clean and well equipped. The location is great for exploring the area. The roof level terrace at the back is a lovely place for a quiet drink with great views. Highly recommended.

We live in Buckinghamshire and enjoy coming to Button Cottage as often as we can with our young children. Our favourite activities are cycling on the Monsal Trail just outside Bakewell, visiting Chatsworth and walks through Dovedale but the beauty of the location is that although it is rural, there is so much to do within a short drive's distance.

We bought Button Cottage after one viewing but had that 'feeling' and knew it would be an ideal place to stay for a short break or a longer holiday and thankfully, our guests agree with us!

It is a comfortable cottage with lots of amenities and is close to many places to visit nd things to do.
