Fantastisk karaktär ladugårdsomvandling, i en underbar landsbygds Dorset fristad.

En unik 4-sovrumslockkonvertering i hörnet av en avskild gård.
Nyligen fick 4 stjärnor av "VisitEngland", som beskrev det som "en slående konvertering, vilket ger en mycket bra standard för boende med självhushåll".
Huset har nyligen dekorerats och möblerats till hög standard. Ursprungliga funktioner i de gamla stallen har bibehållits, i det sympatiskt restaurerade sovrummet, inklusive balkar och namn på de tidigare hästboarna! Helt nytt familjebadrum. Nytt bad, dusch och skåp

Master-sviten har en king size-säng med eget badrum med dusch och trädgård. Ett sovrum med dubbelsäng har också franska fönster mot trädgården. Två tvåbäddsrum är ena sidan av det L-formade huset. Alla sängar och madrasser är helt nya. Det finns också ett familjebadrum med badkar och dusch.
Den andra "hälften" av L husar det enorma vardagsrummet och köket, med vedbrännare, platt-TV, stora franska fönster mot trädgården, som omger huset. Det gamla träköksbordet har plats för 8. Det finns till och med en säng för en väluppfostrad hund, som har enkel tillgång till trädgården och fantastiska promenader i det omgivande landskapet.
En resa till den berömda puben "Old Inn" tvärs över vägen är ett måste, om du inte känner för matlagning. De lagar läckra pizzor i en utomhusugn.
Det finns en tvättmaskin / torktumlare i det välutrustade köket. Det finns också en resesäng och barnstol för spädbarn och hårtorkar i de två dubbla sovrummen.

The converted barn was lovely, large rooms, and very tidy and clean.

We enjoyed our holiday, the home is in a great location for all local attractions. The home was lovely, with a nice garden, which we all enjoyed. Great holiday.

Comfortable stay in beautiful Dorset

My family had a really comfortable stay in the cottage. It had everything we needed and felt very homely. The outside space is lovely and it was great to have "The Old Inn" a quick walk away for meals/drinks. It was a good base for exploring Dorset.

Comfortable property in perfect location

Property was excellent; clean and well furnished. Good enclosed garden for the dog. Communication with owner was speedy and clear. Already looking to book again for next year.

Wonderful for family reunion and local wedding

Very comfortable and beautifully furnished property in a lovely quiet position in Holt Village and 5 minutes walk from great pub, The Old Inn. Only down side were the bathroom facilities with one en suite for 2 & one family bathroom for 6 adults but we managed !

Cozy and welcoming in a peaceful location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well furnished barn conversion. It was in a lovely peaceful rural location. The pub at the end of the lane served excellent food with a good range of local beers. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Great property for a large family group

Beautiful barn conversion in lovely countryside. A good sized garden with plenty of furniture. Great communal space and comfortable bedrooms. Angela, the host, is very accessible and responsive.

Fantastic property

A lovely place to relax as a large family in order to enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful surroundings of the countryside. Great garden & all the required facilities (& more) you could possibly think of are contained in this gorgeous property. Hopefully we will return here one day!

Nice house and perfect for our stay

The house was nice and well kept. Good kitchen. Oven and hobs take a really long time to heat so cooking a quick meal wasn’t possible. Overall - we had a great time and would stay again.

BRILLIANT house in a lovely location

We loved our week here. The house is great with lots of space and recently remodeled bathrooms - and the kitchen is particularly well equipped- we had a family gathering there one afternoon and had more than enough crockery and cutlery for them all. Being one minutes walk from a fab pub with great food, local beer and 130 gins was brilliant. Would definitely stay here again next time (hopefully in the summer so we could use the lovely garden)

The property was pleanty spacious enough for a large family birthday get together as was the garden

This is a very well equipped comfy home in a great setting with a garden that allowed us all to play in the garden with the children relaxing between games and taking in the beautiful garden. We had a lovely weekend.

A wonderful home, beautiful setting

A perfect location for a family Christmas holiday. A warm, comfortable beautiful barn with plenty of space for everyone. The Aga was a challenge with the turkey but cooked it perfectly! The excellent pub accross the road is a real bonus and would love to return in the spring, as the garden I'm sure is beautiful. Thank you Angela for letting us share you well loved family home and your excellent communication. Would highly recommend.

The property is in a great location as a base from which to explore Dorset…. Countryside, beaches, county towns…. Whatever is your passion it’s there. Property is perfect for 8 adults …. Plenty of room, kitchen well stocked and comfortable open plan living space. Highly recommend

Family celebration

Accommodation was well presented and communication with owner was excellent. I would say that the arga although lovely was quite difficult for a family meal, however we did use the Nija also which helped. There is a lovely pub 5 mins away if you do not want to cook, there is also a microwave and toaster. The beds were very comfortable and the whole property was lovely and well decorated- as is shown in the pictures. We made use of the garden for the family gathering and there was a good large table and chairs. We had a great stay

Beautiful place - Lovely location

Absolutely gorgeous property - lovely wrap around garden with lots of sunshine. Open plan living/kitchen/dining area which makes meal times extra sociable. Stunning bedrooms. Beautiful village with lovely pub (we went to Stoke Inn which was a mile or so down the road). Short drive to pool/Bournemouth. Fabulous nearby park for young children (adventure wonderland). Would definitely stay here again. A*****

Lovely, spacious property

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights (x3 couples) and had a great time. The property is spacious and was very clean and well decorated throughout. We particularly enjoyed the large open plan sitting room and kitchen, which we spent most of our time in, when not out and about. I always enjoy the big open plan communal areas as it means you can relax together as a group. Although we didn't use it due to the weather, the wrap around garden looked nice too. The property is in walking distance of a really nice pub (The Old Inn) which we booked in for dinner on our last night and is definitely worth a visit. We also drove to Poole and Swanage during our stay which were both straightforward to get to (around 25 and 45 mins drive). All in all, a lovely stay.

Fabulous stay

The house was perfect for all our needs. Cosy and comfortable. The pub a short walk away was fantastic. Communication with Angela was spot on and she was always quick to reply. We would definitely return.

Could be perfect

Beautiful property in a nice peaceful location, well furnished and plenty of space for all the family. Only 4 stars because of problems with the hot water system which took the edge off our stay. If that can be sorted it would be 5 stars from me.

Amazingly comfortable, clean and well located barn with everything we needed on hand

Thank you Angela for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We found the barn had everything and definitely more that we expected. As soon as we arrived we knew we had found something special. The location was great with a fantastic pub just along the lane called the Old Inn. The contact with Angela was just fabulous from the start and we would highly recommend a stay in this barn.

We are a family of 5 - with 3 teenagers, who need plenty of sleep and activities in equal measure. We've fallen in love with East Dorset, for it's countryside, stunning coastline and fun things to do. Based in London for a decade, we now divide our time between Dorset and Switzerland - as we love nature and the great outdoors - be it the mountains or seaside.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Having looked for a couple of years, we decided being near to the New Forest AND the Jurassic coastline was ideal. It's very quiet, but there's plenty to do - and nearby Wimborne Minster has all the amenities you could want. Having room for 8 people and a garden were also important for us. We wanted a property with character, but easy to manage. This ticked all the boxes for us, and the kids love it as much as we do.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We've been amazed at the variety of things to do, from a waterski school at a nearby lake, to a sanctuary for monkeys, and a 'Go Ape' activity centre in the forest, with zipwires (at Moors Valley country park). There are also great restaurants in Wimborne Minster, with its' own theatre, that also shows movies. It's a corner of paradise, where you can chill out, unwind and do something different every day, if you want to. Every time I visit I want to stay longer...
