Sitt på privata tomter på nästan 4 hektar, njut av de levande och lekområdena på baksidan av den härliga, upphöjda, söderläge utsikt över fält och skogar med enstaka glimt av Pyrenéerna. Gården är bekväm, välutrustad och rymlig. Det finns dubbelglas och gaseldad centralvärme. Köket har en gasspis och en elektrisk ugn. En säker, privat grusad uppfart leder till en rymlig parkeringsplats. En gammal sten trappa leder upp till en täckt matsal terrass och ytterdörr.

Det finns omfattande gräsmattor och skuggade områden runt huset. Den stora poolen har stenbeläggning, är delvis inhägnad, har romerska steg och badas i solsken hela dagen.

På fastigheten finns det på gammal stenbrödugn med ett kvarnhus och en täckt brunn.

Aveyron ligger några minuter bort, nerför backen och är perfekt för kanot eller kajakpaddling och fiske. Den medeltida byn Varen ligger vid floden i närheten och ligger 15 minuter uppströms från den antika handelsstaden St Antonin Noble Val. Verfeil och Najac ligger i närheten och den historiska byn Cordes sur Ciel ligger 20 minuter söderut.

Très décevan Humide, Sale et niveau de service faible

De mauvais souvenirs. Difficile de trouver la clé avec boîtier en hauteur et puis un logement très peu propre (toile d.araignée) tout fait à l’économie (ampoules manquantes, pas de pile dans la télécommande…) et énormément d.humidité… escalier pour dormir à l.étage dangereux et piège à souris nombreux… seul point positif la belle piscine mais infestée d’abeilles qui se comptent par dizaine…

Le paradis sur Terre

Nous avions dit que nous reviendrons, sommes revenus et repartons avec l'envie de revenir encore (cf mon évaluation de 2023). Cet endroit, cette maison et son calme, ces équipements pour les loisirs et se détendre, ces environs pour les balades, tout y est ! J'ajoute qu'à tout cela, nous pouvons compter sur la disponibilité et la réactivité d'Eric et Kate en cas de question. Merci, Dominique

Very enjoyable holiday

We’ve just returned from a very relaxing 2 weeks at this lovely property. The house is tucked away down a very narrow lane at the end of a small hamlet. The owners’ directions were very clear and helpful. We loved the quirkiness and traditional features of the house and the huge garden, outside areas and pool were delightful (we did think that for families with younger children or non-swimmers, it would be helpful to have depth markings in the pool as it shelves quite steeply). The views over the garden are wonderful and we were lucky to see some red deer in the garden. We didn’t use the tennis court but it’s a great feature and we would recommend bringing your racquets. It’s a big house and suited us well as 2 couples; we had a double bedroom and bathroom each (the large basement bedroom a very nice en-suite); the first floor double using a family bathroom downstairs on the ground floor. The other two bedrooms are accessed by separate spiral staircases. The one is a loft room with a handbasin and bidet but no door. This may not work for another couple but would be fine for older children. Interaction with the host was great throughout. Eric replied quickly and helpfully via email to a couple of minor questions whilst we were there. Overall, the house is very well-equipped and in a great location to offer a complete “get away from it all” break whilst being in easy reach of the many beautiful bastide villages and towns in the region. Highly recommended!

Fabuleux !!!

Formidable séjour dans une très belle maison située dans un environnement exceptionnel !!! La piscine fut un régal et nous avons également bien profité du cours de tennis en famille. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. La région est superbe avec de très belles randonnées.

Une sensation de plénitude absolue

Un endroit magnifique, de l'espace, de la nature, de la belle pierre avec ces petits villages aux alentours. Tout d'abord, l'annonce est tout à fait conforme et la réalité au delà. Nous nous sommes tellement bien sentis dans cette vaste ferme transformée en paradis, et dans cette région magnifique, que nous avons eu du mal à la quitter après 15 jours. Merci à Kate et Eric de nous avoir permis ces fabuleuses vacances avec nos enfants qui se sont éclatés à la piscine et au tennis. Dominique

Lovely property in an excellent rural location

Well equipped spacious property. Plenty of outdoor shaded space with pool in sunshine. Lots of pretty villages to visit in the area. Children especially enjoyed pool, canoeing in Averyon and playing in river and on inflatables at Laguepie.

Ankommen und zu Hause fühlen

Wunderbarer Urlaub auf dem riesigen Grundstück mit Tennisplatz, Pool, mehreren Terrassen und herrlichen Rückzugsorten. Sehr angenehmer und unkomplizierter Kontakt zu dem Vermieter Eric, der auch remote stets schnell erreichbar ist. Das Haus selbst liegt in einer kleinen Siedlung in der Nähe von Varen mit traumhaft schöner Aussicht auf die Umgebung. Das Grundstück ist sehr weitläufig, der Kunstrasen-Tennisplatz in top Zustand, der Pool war riesig und viele kleine Plätze zum sitzen und lesen. Im Untergeschoss konnten unsere großen Kinder separat schlafen. Die Bettwäsche war extra eingeschweißt und vorab desinfiziert. Da wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben, ist das Haus eine klare Empfehlung!

Casa impresionante en un entorno idílico y muy bien situado

Somos un matrimonio con dos hijos y hemos pasado la última quincena de agosto y ha sido una experiencia inolvidable. La casa es una preciosidad, con mucho carácter, una rehabilitación de una casa antigua. Es un laberinto de estancias y escaleras que nos encantó. Las vistas desde la terraza son magníficas. La casa ofrece muchas más cosas... una piscina de 10, una pista de tenis de 10 metida entre bosques..increíble...mesa de ping-pong bajo los árboles de 10... y una hamaca en el exterior para soñar... Eso sí, cuidado con los bichos: insectos, avispas, serpientes...en la casa hay de todo tipo de repelentes que funcionan muy bien. Nosotros llevamos ya desde casa pulverizadores especiales para el cuerpo y apenas nos picó nada... tengan en cuenta que estar en el paraíso metido entre bosques hay que protegerse. La casa está super bien comunicada para visitar todo lo importante de la zona con pueblos impresionantes medievales, canoa por el río, castillos y catedrales. Gente muy maja por todos sitios y se come en general muy bien, pero mejor comer entre 12:00 a 12:30 para no quedarte sin mesa... Preciosa casa y precioso lugar. Volvería sin dudarlo.

Vacances reposantes

C'est un endroit calme et très reposant. La propriété a beaucoup de charme, le jardin est gigantesque, la piscine et le terrain de tennis sont formidables. Sans parler des environs qui sont exceptionnels. S'il faut parler de bémols les chambres sous toit sont un peu chaudes lorsque le soleil chauffe énormément et il y avait de nombreux insectes dans le jardin. Mais quoi de plus normal en pleine campagne?

Perfect retreat for a quiet but sportive family vacation

Although the weather was not completely playing along (who would expect some days of 19 C and rain in late July), we spend a wonderful time in this beautiful house. The perfectly maintained tennis court and the very nice swimming pool alone already offered a lot of fun activities, plus running (up and down) and bicycling (more up and down) were really a treat. The area offers a multitude of interesting places to visit. The house was almost too big for our family of 4, it could easily be shared with another pair of friends. Kitchen equipment, electrical appliances, furniture was also well maintained and practical. The room layout is somewhat extravagant and due to the many stairs surely not something for too young kids or handicapped people. The only minus were the bathrooms, and that was most probably due to weather conditions and basement location: Although clean, you don’t want to spend more time than necessary, as they were both quite cold and had a moldy smell. All in all a real recommendation for a very nice vacation.

Idyllic, peaceful week

We spent a lovely week at this property - parents, grandparents and children. Great pool and outside areas, always somewhere to find shade. The table tennis table was a hit, as was the immaculate tennis court. There are some steepish roads up to the village but if you are used to driving in the area this is not a problem; once you have done it once it is fine. A really traditional French farmhouse with so much character. Excellent communication from the owner and very good Covid measures in place regarding clean sheets and towels etc. Would definitely return.

Superbe semaine en famille

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans cette maison dans laquelle rien ne manque pour se sentir bien. La maison est très grande et la chambre au rez de jardin parfaite pour les jours de canicule car elle reste parfaitement au frais. L’immense terrain est fabuleux et propice au repos (le lieu est vraiment très calme) et aux jeux, notamment pour les enfants qui ont tout l’espace nécessaire. Il y a différents endroits pour déjeuner / dîner, tous très agréables. La piscine est très agréable -même si nous avons eu beaucoup de guêpes- et le terrain de tennis absolument magnifique. La maison est très bien placée, il y a beaucoup de très beaux villages à voir aux alentours et les activités ne manquent pas. Anne-Laure et Nicolas

VENEZ!

Endroit charmant, calme et parfaitement entretenu. La maison a été restaurée avec goût et offre de nombreuses pièces. La piscine participe à rendre le séjour particulièrement enchanteur. De plus, le passage régulier de Christopher est une garantie que les éventuels petits problèmes seront bien vite aplanis.

Farmhouse stay in the middle of beautiful countryside

We had a lovely stay in this spacious property, we especially enjoyed eating out under the trees. It was well equipped with table tennis table, tennis court, hammock and the swimming pool and for a wet day, free sat and DVDs for entertaining children.

Rural Treat

We all had a lovely time at this beautiful property. The house is very rural which suited us perfectly. Nearby Narjac is well worth a visit and an early morning visit (before the crowds arrive) is highly recommended. Eric was very swift with his communications and I would recommend staying at this property if a rural recharge is what you’re after. The Parsons.

A very peaceful place

The house is really marvellous. It is in a small village, but one can enjoy a complete solitude. If you are looking for peace and quietness, that is the place to go. Great swimming pool. The garden still has some unexploited potential, therefore only 4 stars. It is certainly a house with a very good value for money.

The owners were very responsive and helpful. The rental did not meet up with our expectations but that might have been due to our not checking the listing carefully enough. I would say the rental is best suited for families. The pool was a life saver due to the high heat when we were there.

A beautiful old farmhouse in a stunning location

We spent a total of 12 nights as this beautiful property. It really does have the 'wow factor' when you pull up outside. It is set in a very quiet hamlet which suited us perfectly. The inside of the property is very comfortable and had most things that you might want, although we did suggest a couple of extras to the owners which might be useful. The outside space and views are simply stunning. The pool is beautiful and was made great use of by us all to escape the heat. My teenagers loved the ping pong table, whilst my husband claimed the hammock as his own! We loved cooking on the BBQ and eating under the shady tree in the evenings. If you fancy venturing away from the house, I would absolutely recommend the Kayaking on the nearby River Aveyron. It was a definite highlight (once I stopped paddling round in circles!) There is also a lovely swimming spot that the owners recommended at nearby Lagoupie, but beware the water is freezing! The night market at nearby Najac is also a must, with many food stalls, crafts and live music. I suggest getting there early as parking is difficult. There are some lovely little shops in Najac too, although coming back up the hill makes you puff! There are lots of other interesting places to visit if you don't mind venturing further afield. Rocamadour is beautiful, as is Cordes-Sur-Ciel. We spent a good mix of relaxing round the pool and sightseeing. If you want to experience a taste of real, rural France then look no further. Eric and Kate were easy to deal with and replied quickly to a couple of minor points. We hope to revisit this beautiful place one day.

We and our 4 children love relaxing by the pool. We enjoy playing tennis as well as table tennis, walking around the lovely countryside, kayaking up and down the nearby Aveyron and visiting nearby historic towns. Night markets and fêtes during the summer are another highlight.
