Another delightful stay in Chateau-d'Oex

This is a wonderful place and it met our needs perfectly. Chateau-d'Oex is a small town (maybe a thousand or two residents) on the train line in the Gruyere region, surrounded by alpine pastures. It has some nice shops but is very quiet compared to the better-known tourist meccas. There is a lot of great hiking in the area, including trails within a stone's throw of the entrance of the residence. It's also easy to venture to other parts of Switzerland via rail or car. We will be back.

Relaxing apartment with an amazing deck

Chateau d’ Oex was our rest stop between the Jungfrau region and Zermatt. The apartment is spacious, clean and has an amazing deck with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay!

Un séjour montagnard enchanteur avec une vue magnifique

J'ai passé un séjour fantastique dans cet appartement de montagne. L'appartement est exactement comme décrit avec une vue à couper le souffle. Nous avons vraiment apprécié la beauté de la nature environnante et avons visité plusieurs sites touristiques incroyables. Cependant, je retire une étoile de ma note en raison des horaires restreints (uniquement pour les locataires) de la piscine (acces uniquement de 10h à 19h). Difficile de profiter de la piscine au printemps si vous souhaitiez explorer la nature environnante en journée. Malgré cela, je recommande vivement cet appartement pour son emplacement exceptionnel et la beauté de son environnement naturel. C'est l'endroit idéal pour se ressourcer et découvrir les merveilles de la montagne.

Apartment mit wunderschöner Aussicht

Wir sind zum Skifahren in Schönried-Saanenmöser angereist, wofür ein Auto sehr empfehlenswert ist (der ÖV ist weiter entfernt. Für schlechtere hat es einen Gymnastikraum und ein geheiztes Schwimmbad (zwischen 24.5 und 26°). Die Begrüssung und Betreuung durch Joy waren überaus liebenswert. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Comfortable apartment in magnificent natural setting

Between 2019 and 2021, we've spent a total of six weeks at this wonderful apartment. Chateau d'Oex is a lovely and calm place to experience the alpine summer. I love hiking, and this area is a paradise. It is an easy drive or train ride to Montreux in one direction and Interlaken in the other. The apartment itself is a clean and comfortable 2 bedroom flat, with a large outdoor terrace suitable for idyllic outdoor dining. We will definitely be back.

Heaven on earth.

Wonderful apartment, building, and views. Great host who provided guidance was appreciated. The town of Chateau D-Oex has everything one needs, including a train station. Great grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops, We loved every second.

This was one of the most idyllic settings and vacations! Everything was seen to in terms of greeting, familiarization with the accommodation and the sheer beauty of the surrounding area, which was even more spectacular from the very large terrace! The 2 weeks we let this flat went by too quickly, and we hope to return again, soon. It was very easy to reach Chateau d’Oex by rail, and travel was easy to Interlaken, Bern, Gstaadt, Zermatt and Montreux. The hikes up the mountain were breathtaking. What a beautiful place: the flat, Chateau d’Oex and the people and country!

A wonderful apartment in a great area

We, a family with two children, enjoyed our holiday in this apartment very much. The apartment is extremely well-equipped and very cosy. Absolutely fantastic is the view which we enjoyed every day on the amazing terrace. Additionally, it was great to use the swimming pool and the garden too, especially as it was very hot when we stayed in Chateaux d'Oex. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Kenneth, the owner, provided a lot of useful information about the apartment and the area beforehand. Joy, the lettings manager, was very kind and helpful too. We would definitely recommend this apartment!

We loved this apartment!

Our family of 4 spent a fabulous week in this apartment. It was very well equipped and comfortable with a fabulous balcony for soaking up the amazing views. Chateau d’Oex is a lovely little town, we enjoyed visiting the folk museum and walking some of the trails around the area as well as travelling to some interesting places close by such as Gruyères, Gstaad, Lake Geneva and Thun. Booking the apartment went very smoothly, communication with Kenneth the owner was perfect and he was very helpful in providing information about the apartment and the area in general. Joy the lettings manager was lovely and helpful also during our stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and indeed hope we have the opportunity to visit again one day.

Fantastic view, welcoming apartment, good position for trips

It was a fantastic journey, in a welcoming apartment fully equipped. The swimming pool is not immense but very nice, easy to access and to use. The position of the house allows walkings, daily trips to Montreux, Gruyere or Gstaad. The train station is close. The apartment is large, comfortable and quiet.
