In the future, please let us know what kitchen items you may need as our warehouse is just across the road and if something is missing we can replace standard items immediately, and we're happy to provide extras if possible. Aloha Paul and mahalo for your comments. It is great to hear that you love Honua Kai so much that you have stayed multiple times but we are sorry to hear that this year may be your last. Given that you stayed during President's Week, which is one of the absolute busiest weeks of the year, we can understand that the resort felt busy, but please understand that the new Luana Garden Villas development only adds 72 new units to the existing 628 units. In addition, please note that each Luana enclave of roughly 24 villas has its own pool area and each villa has its own parking spaces. We do realize that reservations at Duke's must often be made in advance nowadays which can be frustrating when you just want to grab a bite to eat at the last minute, but we would also point out that The Westin Nanea Villas and Kaanapali Ocean Resort have dining options just steps up the beach path. For something super casual, the new food truck courtyard right next door has also been a guest favorite. Of course, our Maui Resort Rentals courtesy shuttle is also available to drive you the 5 minutes to Whaler's Village for a whole different set of dining options. We are glad to hear that you found this to be a great suite but we are certainly very sorry for any miscommunication regarding the toilet in the second master bath. We strive to provide excellent communication with all guests through the entire rental process and we are sorry if we fell short in this instance. Of course, it is harder to diagnose an issue via a cell phone video versus seeing it happen in person, but we will be sure to talk to the engineer who was sent to your suite to investigate. Our notes indicate that your wife asked the engineer to check on the problem after your party checked out which is why a plumber never visited during your stay, but we should have done a better job of following up with you. Aloha Donald and mahalo for your detailed comments. It’s great to hear that you thought this unit was beautiful and the customer service excellent. We are sorry, however, to hear that you had to experience an infestation of, what sounds like, German brown roaches. On Maui these critters will often hitchhike into a place via those empty Costco boxes people use to transport food into their condo for the week. We know how annoying they are. We are happy to say that we completely exterminated the roaches with bait after your checkout. We are also sorry to hear that some of your utensils were not properly cleaned. This is clearly a mistake on our part and we will be sure to talk to the housekeeper and the final inspector who was responsible for cleaning your unit prior to check-in so that this does not happen again.
