En unik familj fly i Byron Bay.

Hello friends!

Paul and I love to travel and have made lifelong friends on our adventures around the world. One of our favourite travel experiences has been staying with friends overseas and living like a local in a foreign country, even if for just a few days at a time.

We share a love of good food and wine, and especially enjoy growing our own food and cooking up a storm with the products from the garden. The Lily Pad sits on a 50 acre tropical rural property in beautiful Byron Bay, just 2km to the beach and town. It's a brilliant location - so peaceful and quiet, and so close to everything.

We look forward to sharing The Lily Pad with you on your travels to Byron Bay. We absolutely love it and know you will too!

The Lily Pad is a very special place. It's the place we retreat to when we need to 'escape the world'. It's where we can relax, unwind and reconnect with the simplest pleasures in life. Family, friends, fresh air and fine food! We have been visiting the Byron Bay area for nearly 30 years and have owned the property for more than 20.

We established The Lily Pad with our family's needs in mind, creating a welcoming space for both parents and kids. It's been designed with two pavilions side by side, the Studio and the Retreat. The idea is that a couple can book just the Studio pavilion and use the space as a romantic escape; while families can book both pavilions and use the extra space provided by the Retreat pavilion to accommodate the kids. Near enough to share special family time, but far enough away to give everyone the space they need on holidays!

The important point to note is that only one set of guests stays at The Lily Pad at any one time. It's completely private and set aside for your exclusive use.

We love the fact that we can be so close to all the action of Byron Bay town - the restaurants and shops - as well as the iconic beach, but we also love being able to escape back to the property to relax, unwind and just chill. We really enjoy having the best of both worlds when we stay at The Lily Pad.

Wake up and hear the birds. Make a cuppa and sit on the north facing deck to watch the sun peep over the trees. Explore the gardens and take a moment to just breathe. Grab your swimmers and head to the beach, or throw on your walking shoes for the pilgrimage to Cape Byron Lighthouse. Shop at the Farmer's Market and cook up a storm in the fully-equipped "cook's" kitchen at The Lily Pad.

And if you really need to check email or work remotely, there's free wi-fi and a nice big antique teak table in the Studio which makes for a pretty scenic office.

When we're there, we love to use the outdoor shower, custom-built with a clever timber slatted privacy screen. With hot and cold water, pebble floor and views to the trees and sky above, it's the perfect place to wash away the cares of the world.
