Detta charmiga tillflyktsort ligger på toppen av Hickory Hill Road ovanför Mirror Lake på en underbar 1. 5 tunnland stor egendom som har en härlig grodadamm som matas av en bubblande bäck. Den täta interiören är en kombination av arv / folk charm och moderna bekvämligheter, inklusive central luftkonditionering och ugn, kabel-TV, Apple TV (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, ESPN3, etc), DVD, Internet, tvättmaskin / torktumlare och en fullstor spis med gott om torr ved till hands.

Huset har tre sovrum - två tvillingar, två drottningar och en kung - alla med sitt eget badrum. Den moderna befälhavaren har en mysig king size-säng, expansivt badkar, klädkammare och eget däck där du kan titta på kolibrier under dagen, eller skanna Vintergatan som du aldrig har sett den tidigare på natten. Det pittoreska men pålitliga köket har en klassisk spis och sortiment, och allt du behöver för att förbereda en utsökt måltid.

Den stora avskärmade bakre verandan är där du kommer att vilja tillbringa större delen av din tid, lyssna på vinden rasla genom träden när fåglarna sjunger, eller koppla av på verandegyvern när ett mjukt sommarregn väter den klara bergluften. Eller ta upp ett glas vin och en avslappnad omgång badminton i trädgården medan biffar fryser på grillen. Följ vägen som leder till det avskilda dammet och du kommer säkert att se mer vilda djur på vägen. Ett annat alternativ är att ta en kort promenad nerför Hickory Hill för att mata änderna på den pittoreska Mirror Lake där du kanske också är benägen att kasta en flugestav för öring, eller kryssa det lugna vattnet i en kajak eller kanot. Strax bortom Mirror Lake ligger den nya Highlands Plateau Greenway-leden som leder dig på en naturskön promenad direkt in i staden om du är så benägen.

Such a beautiful location!

Perfect for our weekend getaway

We stayed here for a family wedding that was happening in Highlands. The house was very clean, well stocked with anything we could need. The beds were all very comfortable. And we spent most of our time there enjoying the big screened in porch! It was a perfect place for us!

Perfect weekend getaway!

It was the perfect house for a weekend stay! Spacious rooms with a bathroom in each, and the highlight was the peaceful back porch where we spent most of our time. The location of the house was also great with an 8 minute drive from downtown. Would absolutely recommend!

Wedding Weekend

There were 3 couples in our group attending a wedding in Highlands. The property was wonderful and perfect for our group. Having 3 bathrooms was ideal and LOVE the back porch. Would absolutely stay again!

wonderful!

My family and I stayed here for a wedding--it was perfect. The house is lovely with a lot of interesting art and decorations. We did have a toddler, so we took a minute to child-proof and put some beautiful but breakable things up higher! We are already planning our next trip and hope to stay here again!

Loved it

We enjoyed this beautiful 3 bed 3 bath home. It's was decorated nicely with room to spread out. Didn't really mind having to use the ice trays! We would absolutely rent this home again. Locked ourselves out and the owner was very helpful when I contacted her.

Wonderful screen porch

Highlands family home full of folk art and memorabilia. Updated bathrooms and very comfortable bed in main bedroom. (Did not try others). Great screen porch for rainy Highland days. Very convenient location

Awesome porch…luxurious beds

Wonderful home in the Mirror Lake area

We had a wonderful stay here and would have liked for it to be longer! The house is warm and inviting and well furnished. It is very roomy, with three bedrooms and separate in-suite baths, much more a real home than some mountain cabins in the area. The large screened-in porch on the back is delightful, and a special memory of the trip was sitting out there during a heavy rainstorm. In addition, we have always loved the Mirror Lake area, which is a great area for walking around, and it was a pleasant surprise to learn that there is actually a trail (paved most of the way) that can be taken right into town. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to the next time..

Great Getaway to Beat the Heat

We were a group of ladies on a golf trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The back porch was such a great place to relax and visit. Loved the primitive artwork and pottery collection. Convenient location to shops and dining but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Very comfortable beds!

I absolutely loved the house. It is exactly what the listing says. Property is beautiful. Easy to walk from car to house ( I’m 73). My favorites were the sound system, back porch , pottery, art work and retro kitchen. I’ve been renting in highlands for this weekend for 30 years and this is the best yet!

Fall Break

We brought my mom up to see the fall foliage it was beautiful and the perfect weekend at the perfect place. The house was wonderful. The beds were so comfy. The back porch was nice. We were gone a lot during the day, but enjoyed it during the mornings. Perfect location to town kitchen Well stocked even though we ate out most of the time. It was 50’s era cottage perfect house for our family. We will be back

Needs attention

I really wanted to like this property as the location is very convenient but it needs some TLC. The house is dark with a very musty smell and looks like it hasn’t been updated since built (1960’s?). Dirty, stained area rug and bath mats in master bed/bath and black mildew/mold on the bedroom ceiling. We did not use the other bed and bathrooms as there were only two of us. A good deep cleaning and updating would go a long way in bringing this house up to standard. I will not rent this again until done so.

Awesome Vacation Rental

This is a beautiful house and location. Kitchen was stocked so well. Beautiful screened in porch. Private lot, nice big backyard, washer and dryer were great. I highly recommend this place!!

Great screen porch!

Beautiful and quiet setting with a screen porch and yard to enjoy! We loved sitting on the porch and listening to the birds. We were also thankful that there was plenty of parking and it is easy to get in and out of the driveway. Our only concerns were that the light switches in two of the bedrooms do not work so you have to cross the room in the dark to turn on the light and the fact that the showers are only bathtub/shower combinations which caused trouble for my elderly mother. Overall it was a great month in the mountains!

Great place, love the art. Love the back porch and surrounding grounds!

A very nice place to stay when in Highlands! The master bedroom is on other side of house from the other two bedrooms, so nice to have a place to retreat from the noise of family gatherings.
