Pet Friendly in a wonderful location

We had a great stay with our cavoodle dogs at this property. The hosts were welcoming and we had everything we needed. Everything was very clean and thoughtfully laid out. Great location near many great walks and the property has scenic views. Will stay again when in Sydney!

Great stay in Balmain

Elisabeth and Neil are excellent hosts of a very comfortable, spotlessly clean property in a fantastic location with its own view from the deck - close to ferries, buses, pubs, parks and cafes and with a parking spot.

Great place away from the city

We had a lovey stay there for 6 nights. Ferry into down town just a few blocks away. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Landlord was easy to work with and ver knowledgeable about where to go and how to get there. We used the ferry, bus, and uber to get around

Our 3 night stay was amazing. The lovely details of the breakfast aspect was above and beyond. The coziness and the character of the space was beautiful. The location was truly like an oasis in a bustling city. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We will be staying at this Oasis again!

Highly recommended - great location, views and people!

Our two nights stay at the Oasis in Balmain was fantastic. The loft room is spacious and comfortable, the view from your private deck are stunning. Perfect location with amazing views. All amenities were provided. Felt like being in a home with character and comfort. Stroll to the shops or the waterfront. And our furry companion was welcomed and enjoyed the stay very much. Neil and Lizzie went out of their way to help and provided everything we needed including the makings of a yummy breakfast each day.A memorable city break - in the end we didn’t leave Balmain. So much to see and do and a real escape from the busyness of the city. We will be back!

A real find!

We were at the end of our holiday in Australia and needed a short stay in Sydney with easy access to the airport. We could not have found a better spot! Neil and Elizabeth have made a delightfully comfortable Oasis in the City with every possible detail covered. We were sorry it was such a short stay but I’m sure we’ll be back next trip.

Home away from home

Great accomodation . Very quiet at night . Easy public transport to the city. Breakfast ,including home made jam, yogurt and preserves and much more is supplied. Clean towels daily.The owners made us feel very welcome and were very accommodating of our visiting family. , and even blew the autumn leaves off our car . I would definitely stay there again when next in Sydney.

What is not to love about this gorgeous property .. so close to all amenities either walking to restaurants and parks around Balmain or catching the Ferry .. 7 minutes walk away to various locations or chill out on the verandah with a glass of wine or 2 and watch the ferries come and go. Neil and Elisabeth and their lovely dog Poppi are very welcoming and extremely helpful .. you will be completely spoilt by the homemade breakfasts and potted jams. Balmain has a Village atmosphere with lots of dining spots and interesting walks. We look forward to our next visit to Balmain and staying at An Oasis in the City .. it truly is a wonderful gem tucked away and you will not be disappointed 💖 Marg B.

Beautiful Balmain

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location is 7mins walk from the ferry, which is a lovely 10 min ferry trip to Circular Quay. The place is very comfortable with a lovely breakfast included. A few mins walk to the Balmain shops and with views to the harbour.

Oasis in the city

My adult son and I spent a wonderful 4 days at the “oasis”. Elisabeth and Neil are perfect hosts, very helpful and checked in daily to ensure we were happy. Lovely staples provided for breakfast. Great location, would definitely recommend

You’ll be glad you booked

This place is the perfect location for exploring Balmain and the surrounds. Easy access to transport and everything you need is close by within a short walk. Perfect location to get to and get away from Sydney

Homely B&B, fab breakfast, comfortable, with outside space to enjoy. Two Ferries to choose from for a mini cruise into downtown Sydney. Quiet location with lots of restaurants to choose from nearby.
