We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Clean and comfortable and with easy access to tourist sites and public transportation. The kitchen facilities were great and having access to laundry was a big plus. We tried many of the recommendations in the owner's guide book and these recommendations were spot on. Thank you.

We loved the location in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to many Kyoto attractions and to subway and bus stops. The beautiful homes have lovely traditional Japanese elements as well as modern amenities. Communication with the owner’s staff is excellent! Highly recommend!

The house has all amenities listed, with the exception of a "hot tub", I think they mean bath tub. The space was perfect for two could easily and comfortably accommodate 4. Location is great, a ten minute walk to the train station, with two Lawson's en route. The property manager is very responsive, kind, and knowledgeable about the area. Have a great recommendation for delicious tonkatsu. We had a great time at Uan House!

Die Lage der Wohnung ist fĂŒr kulturell interessierte Menschen sehr gut gelegen. Ruhige, echt lokale Wohngegend aber mit guten und schnell zu erreichenden öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln.Das Haus ist schön nach lokalem Wohnstil eingerichtet, sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die AusrĂŒstung mit Geschirr und KochgerĂ€tschaften ist ausreichend aber knapp. Die Freundlichkeit, Hilfsberetschaft und der Service durch die Kontaktpersonen und das Servicepersonal war außerordentlich gut. Wir haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Vielen Dank an Mika fĂŒr die immer schnelle und freundliche Reaktion auf RĂŒckfragen.

We stayed at Hoshi for 4 nights and every aspect of our stay was wonderful. We had a lovely welcoming by Satoro who showed us around the property and how to use the facilities (the all in one washer/drier was a real bonus for us after being in Japan for 5 days, already. We would stay at Hoshi again if lucky enough to return to Kyoto. It really is in the best location. What a beautiful stay we had. Thank you.

The house is a typical Japanese house with all the upgrades.Perfect size for 3 people, the kitchen is very clean and the washing machine was a plus.( detergent provided and dryer integrated)The rooms upstairs were perfect. We loved sleeping on the tatamis.Philosophers path was walking distance.We took taxis to go on the West side on the town.Definitely coming back to Kyoto and to this house.

Amazing stay

We loved our stay in this beautiful house with great amenities. A fantastic location, close to many temples, gardens and cafes. The hosts were very accommodating and gave clear communication for the check in. There are also amazing forest walks nearby that pass through a number of less visited temples. We hope to return some day soon.

Serene Locale and Great Hosts

We spent five nights here and cannot overtstate how great the experience was. Satoru and Mika were very responsive and clear with their communication. They made us feel welcomed right away. We did not get to meet Kei, but he was very generous with a welcoming gift that we quite enjoyed. The place is a lovely little home. It was just the two of us, so the upstairs was very spacious with one of us in the bedroom and the other using the futon in the main room. Both sleeping accommodations were comfortable and we slpet very soundly after all the walking we did! The kitchen had everything we needed. Washer/dryer was a huge plus, and the shower was incredibly relaxing. The area itself is so charming. If your looking for a quiet, lush slice of Kyoto this is the spot. There are so many shrines to explore and we found a lot of places to eat by walking around. If you want a little more lively experience, its only about a 10 minute walk to the river where there are tons of places to enjoy yourself. As first timers, we can't reccommend this place enough. If you're returning, you absolutely must stay in Higashiyama. Thank you again to Kei, Satoru and Mika for welcoming us in and making our stay so easy. Such a lovely place!

Cute Townhome in Kyoto

The property was super clean, well laid out, and close to bus stops and train stations. The owner even left a binder with recommendations for things to do close by the home. We took one of his restaurant recommendations and it did NOT disappoint! Would definitely stay again!

Perfect Traditional Japanese Homebase

Super impressed with the layout of the house. Plenty of space up and down stairs, great shower room, kitchen, and laundry machine. AC both upstairs and downstairs. Host was responsive and checking/out was flawless. 10/10 would stay again.

Beautiful little home in quiet neighborhood

The Uan/Hoshi house was lovely. It is just as described and shown in the photo. The managers were helpful and quick to respond. We loved the house and having our own kitchen and washer/dryer. Only small disadvantage was bedrooms are upstairs and bathroom downstairs, but it was fine. We would definitely recommend it and stay again.

Amazing Location

We could not have chosen a better place to stay in Kyoto. The apartment was so comfortable and cozy. The location was tucked away from main traffic but still close to the bus and train stops. But the best part was our host. He greeted us on arrival and made us feel so welcome. This is truly a great location. Thank for so much for making us feel at home. My wife and I loved it!
