Providing beach chairs and an umbrella is a wonderful suggestion, and we'll consider adding these amenities for future guests to enjoy more comfort during their beach outings. I’ve been a Vacation Rental Property Manager for 6 years and I hold my team very accountable. The opinion of all the travelers is very important to us. This guest mistreated everybody on his path including my employees, the Condominium’s Administration Staff and me. It all started on his first inquiry when he asked for a discount because they where only 2 guests. After sharing a few messages I granted the discount. As I do with all my guests, right after he booked I sent him the check in information, house rules, etc. A few days after arrival he contacted me saying that he didn’t get the check in info and to please send it to his personal email, out of the Home Away chat. The listing's details and the check in info states that check in is after 3:00pm. This person didn’t follow check in protocol and arrived at 9:00 am. For this reason, when he entered the unit, it wasn't ready. In my system, after housekeeping I have an inspector that double checks the units before guests arrival. The mentioned BBQ door, pots and pans would had been taken care off prior to his arrival as part as our regular maintenance. Regular bunk bed mattress was replace with a $500.00 pillow top mattress immediately upon receiving the complaint. This guest started treating me with a bad review if I didn’t give him a discount. At the same time using a very aggravating tone he accused me of having a listing that wasn’t accurate. I quickly went to revise the listing and found that location, pictures and description were accurate. He call me countless times, specially after hours to complain about everything. He complain about the pool not having a heater. I explained to him that there’s not such a thing as a heated swimming pool in Puerto Rico. The temperature in Puerto Rico ranges from 75 degrees in the winter do 90 degrees in the summer. He didn’t accept this explanation and threatened me again to file a case against me if I didn’t give him a discount for not having a heater in the pool. At this point he filed a case against me trough Home Away’s Customer Care. The case didn’t proceed because he lied to the Customer Care Rep. The Swimming pool’s filtration system’s pipe broke on a Saturday night and half the water was lost during the night. The administration diligently fixed the pool in the morning but couldn’t refill it because there was no city water running. The NW towns where going trough a water rationing program and the complex was running 24 hours in reserve water and 24 hours on city water. I explained this the traveler but he wouldn’t listen. I gave him daily updates on water situation as I did to all my other guests that time. The traveler went to the Condominium’s Administrator and threatened to sue the Administration if he don’t open the pool. Pool reopened on Tuesday. I hope this answer was useful.
