I april 2019 avslutade vi nÄgra bra förbÀttringar inklusive en helt ny kungmadrass i sovrummet, total kök ombyggnad med alla nya apparater, ny queen size bÀddsoffa med minne skum madrass, vackra vinylgolv, och vi tycker resultaten Àr fantastiska!

Location was great, the beach access was nice. About 50mins away from KÄ«hei and Paia. House was stocked with everything minus a cooler. That would have been nice for beach days. Hosts communicated well. Would recommend and stay again.

Comfortable unit with amazing views!

This unit was comfortable for my husband and I. We loved sitting on a lounger under the palm trees and listening to the waves. We snorkeled right in front of our unit and swam with turtles, it was magical! We found enough places nearby to eat and driving to lahaina was not that far of a drive!

Kahana Stay

The unit had an amazing oceanfront view. We enjoyed the patio and lawn for daily sunsets. We loved the quick and easy access to the grounds being on the ground floor. We saw so many turtles everyday. The beach out front isn't very swimmable, but a further walk along the path leads to a pretty secluded beach. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. No AC, but we kept the windows and doors open, and the trade winds kept it fairly cool. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and even snorkels (we did not use) provided. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet, clean, and peaceful.

First first time at the property, but perhaps 10th time on Maui. Thought the unit was very clean, updated, had everything we needed, with a lovely view. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Kahana Reef is an excellent location. Close to shopping and multiple beaches.

We will definitely consider Kahana Reef for our next Maui vacation. We love going to beaches and it’s the perfect location.

Second Visit - Great again!

This was my 2nd stay at this property and, like the first time around, we had a great time. The first floor unit has amazing views and you're just steps away from the waters edge and a small/quaint beach area. The condo is spacious and clean and having access to beach towels/chairs/umbrella is a definite plus!

Perfect getaway!

This was the perfect location for our anniversary trip. My husband's first trip to the islands! The condo was clean, spacious, and had the most stunning view! It was in a fantastic location close to coffee, restaurants, and the bigger resorts to access their luaus, restaurants, etc. Loved the absolute peace of this condo though! Enjoyed the outside spaces at all times of day. Parking was always available! We would love to come back!

Maui at its best. Pure magic

I took my two young daughters, 9 and 13, for their very first trip to Maui. The property is very well kept and close to markets, food, etc. The owners left a folder explaining the history of the unit and how it’s been in the family for many years. It was a pleasure to be a guest and create new memories in this home. My daughters absolutely loved it! We saw sea turtles, sharks, rainbows and so much more! I’ll definitely plan on starting here again on my future visits.

Location, Location, Location

Open the sliding door and sit on the porch less than 50 feet from the Pacific Ocean and fantastic sunsets. Need a beach? Turn right for access to a small beach area. Walkable to nearby restaurants and grocery stores. Easy drive to other sites. Condo has everything you’ll need although the decor is a bit dated (more like a dear great aunt’s place). Owner promptly responded to a question about the address and was very pleasant.

Home away from home

This was my first trip to Maui and I wanted a place that was away from a busy, touristy area like Lahaina but still close enough to town for me to access restaurants and shops. And this was THE PERFECT PLACE! The ocean was in my backyard and to sleep listening to the waves every night and watching the sunrise every morning was magicalđŸ„° Sharyn and family, thank you for lending me your home. I felt so comfortable and at peace here and I think you’ve decorated the house so, so well. It honestly felt like my own home. Thank you!

Great Updated Condo, Great Owners

I live on Maui. I went here for a staycation with my girlfriend. I've done this a lot so I've seen many similar condos in Kahana. This is a really nice place. Very clean and updated. Great breeze through the unit. Accurate listing. We had a minor problem (blown fuse upon check in) and the owners were all over it. Had electricians if we needed them .... but the next day we eventually found the breaker box and fixed it ourselves. They were very generous and gave us a complimentary night due to the confusion. That is amazing service! Very happy with our stay. Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo.

Annual Maui Trip

The property location is the best. We have stayed in Kanhan Reef several times. This was the first in this unit. The kitchen had all the needed items to cook with and was stocked with plenty of trash bags. There is a need for an upgrade in the bathroom. The shower curtain fell down twice and there is no grip handle in the tub. This is good to have for older persons. The property has all that is needed for days at the beach. We were unable to turn off the fan in the bedroom with the control on the wall. Had to unplug it.

Buyer Beware

The condo owner's construction discloseure was not on the main page of their description on the VRBO website but located in the additional comments section. Since I was using a mobile phone to book the condo I never saw the construction warning until after the fact....... Problem: The Kahana Reef condo complex is under going a major ocean retaining wall construction project which creates heavy noise from 8-5 and had totally ruined the ocean view and access to the ocean because the stairs lead to the ocean water in the consrtruction zone and are blocked off. The huge project will be on going for months. The condo also does not have an AC system to cool the condo during heat waves in Maui which is another thing I missed in the booking process. From my experience 99% of all of my condos rentals in Maui have AC's at least in the bedrooms. So if peace and quiet and air conditioning is a priority you should continue your search beacause this condo and the other condos in the complex at this moment in time do not offer the above. I contaced t the owner and asked for a full refund so I could another place but they declined and offered a one night refund which the only positive note of my stay .

Great location. I booked several condos on the west side for my grown children as we were attending my daughter's wedding. My son 2 sons and their wives stayed here. They really enjoyed the pool and it was right on the ocean!

This cozy little spot beautifully overlooking the Hawaiian Islands of Lanai and Molokai has been in our family for 18 years, purchased the year my husband and I got married. My parents, Dave and Sandy, mainly used it as a winter retreat seeking a reprieve from the cold winters of Northern Idaho.
After my Dad’s passing in 2017, we began to consider how best to manage it for the future. Makana is the Hawaiian word for gift. The Hawaiian Islands were very special to both my parents, but my dad especially really loved it here. Being able to keep this beautiful spot in our family feels like a gift that he has left behind for his kids, his grandkids, and I hope his great grandkids!






Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

You can’t spend 5 minutes on the Hawaiian islands without recognizing what a incredible gift this beautiful island is to it’s occupants and many visitors. Makana at Kahana Reef, or the gift at Kahana Reef, reflects our thankfulness to God for blessing us with such a gift in His vibrant creation so apparent as you listen to the bird song, smell the fragrance of all the different varieties of flowers, watch the whales breaching just off the shores, and on and on as you wander through this incredible island.
My dad was a retired law Enforcement officer for the U.S. Forest Service. You’ll find ‘his’ coffee cup in the cupboards! If you use it, consider sending up a quick prayer for your local law enforcement community! :0)
On a practical note, we have just finished major renovations of the Condo this past April 2019. We plan to finish next year by completing the bathroom makeover, new flooring in the bedroom, new ceiling, and tiling on the lanai. We hope you enjoy the improvements, and appreciate your understanding that there are still some parts of the condo with some character left from the old days! :0) Also, as some of our first guests, please let us know how we might better equip the condo to make it a even more enjoyable stay! If there is something we missed, we’d love to hear about it!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The best thing in our opinion about this condo is it's location!! The Ocean is your front yard, with so many places to enjoy right on location, but Kahana is also a incredible location for seeing some of the most beautiful parts of Maui!!
