perfect snow tubing getaway

My family loved the farmhouse! The land it sits on is amazing, with river frontage and views from the house and yard of Blue Ridge, and Massanutten. The house is well preserved making it a private superb gem of the valley.

Awesome place in a very quiet setting. Host was always very responsive to my messages leading up to our stay. Did not need to contact him after we arrived or through the rest of our stay because everything was awesome. Would definitely stay here again in the future since we have a student at JMU and it is only about a 30 min drive away.Funny thing my wife and child were a little scared driving up to the house sitting in the middle of a field wat off the main road since we did not check in until after dark. So I advise if you do stay here maybe check in during daylight hours. Everyone fell in love with it the next morning and was saying how beautiful it was in the daylight.

Quick stop in National Park

Great stay. No major issues. Clean and private location. Host was very accommodating and helpful. Forrest was great!Had all that we needed! Pizza place in town was great!3rd bedroom is not quite what we expected (description correct, but pic wasn’t shown on site) but we made it work with no real issue. Pleasant stayTip during hot summer days: we put the portable fans next to the upstairs AC vents which seemed to help cool down the bedrooms better.

Had a wonderful stay. Beautiful house and area. Really did have everything one could need! Check in process was easy and information sent well before hand. The third room isn’t strictly a room - mattresses on raised wooden frames in low ceiling space off one of the main rooms. This wasn’t a problem for us though. We couldn’t find how to get to the river (maybe it’s just us!) - some more specific directions might be helpful for future guests

Family getaway

Wonderful stay at the farmhouse. We had a great long weekend with grandparents. The house was clean and perfect for our purposes. The cows were fun for our girls to “talk” to each morning. The location couldn’t be better and the quiet serenity of the house was very welcome

Another Great Visit to this farmhouse

We let the teens off at Massanutten and go on pet friendly adventures. This trip we visited Marceline Vineyards and enjoyed the friendly staff and live music. We love this little farmhouse, I’ve booked it again in February, which will be our fourth trip there.

What a wonderful escape in the beautiful countryside! We loved our stay at the charming Farmhouse. The house itself was well stocked, clean, and spacious. The beds were so comfy! Plenty of places for our family to sprawl out. The yard was big and it was fun to see the cows in the meadow and walk down to the river. The host was great and responded quickly. Located near hiking, ski resort, and Harrisonburg. Great property!!!!

Wonderful place

This property was perfect in every way. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in this area. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch watching the cows graze so closely to us. The house was clean and equipped with everything you might need. Would definitely go back if I were in the area again.

Nice quiet retreat

I really enjoyed the solitude of the farm house location. Everything was included in the kitchen to make simple dinners and breakfast. There was comfortable sitting around the dinner table and the porch. It was a pleasant stay and had everything we needed. We took some time to go horse bank riding at Fort Valley Ranch while we were there.

Perfect & Private Valley Location

My wife and I spent 3 nights to explore the central Shenandoah Valley. This house has everything needed for a comfortable stay/ Close to several battlefields of T. J. Jackson's Valley Campaign. Bad weather on the second full day negated a planned visit to the South Fork of the Shenandoah River (on the property), but we will not miss it on our next trip. We really enjoyed our stay; just wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent location and property but not adequate for 7 people

Very beautiful property and location, just dissapointed that it was listed for 7 people in VRBO while it really has 2 bedrooms (that can sleep 4 comfortably) plus one additional storage type room with two benches which can sleep two more but not in a very comfortable way especially if you have any type of claustrophobia. There is not really a space for 7th person. Three of us basically slept in the living room where the TV is (one on the couth, two on the floor). Except that issue, everything else is great.

Second time there

Great location for Massanutten, dropped the kids off and enjoyed dog friendly fun. Chateau Virginia in Elkton was cute winery, White Oak Lavender farm and winery was super cute, enjoyed the Valley olive oil and Balsamics store, Thunderbirds and Hanks were both yummy. Don’t waste your time on Vito’s pizzeria.

Incredible in every way!!

There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing our stay was. The picturesque sunsets, amenities galore and peaceful setting made our trip superb. Everything was perfect. Cornhole and grills for outdoor entertainment, a fully equipt kitchen for indoor use and comfortable beds and spacious living space. We cannot say enough about this place and would highly recommend Forrest and his family’s truly incredible property. Thank you!

Good location; 2.5 bdrms at best

This was a great location to visit Shenandoah National Park for a few days. It was a 15 minute drive for us to the Swift Run entrance. The farm itself is peaceful & beautiful! Our kids loved the cows out front, and we enjoyed Star viewing each night. I think 3 bedrooms is misleading
 the 3rd “bedroom” is a large closet/attic off of the master bedroom, with wooden pallet beds. It was ok for my elementary age kids, but if I’d had teens or other adults expecting an actual bedroom with comfortable beds, we would’ve been disappointed. But overall it was a good stay!

Beautiful Pastoral Farm House on the Shenandoah River

This house has all the quaint charm of an old country farmhouse with all the updated amenities us “city folks” except. Be aware that the stairs are a bit steep with narrow treads and there is no upstairs bathroom. This was fine for us, but don’t rent if you have mobility issues. Otherwise it’s an idyllic spot on the banks of the river, just minutes from the central entrance to Shenandoah National Park.

Cozy, relaxing, perfect location

Loved the coziness and mix of historical and modern amenties. Was far better than the photos depict. We especially enjoyed the large dining room and a library-like family room, and the kids loved the connected attic-like room with the built-in bed bunks. Great location 5 minutes from anything you need in the Elkton area, or 10 minutes to Massanutten. The only time-consuming part was all the extra rental agreement paperwork in addition to the built-in VRBO rental agreements, especially as I had to correct and initial 2023 dates for 2024. Also requesting money from me before booking caused some errors that Ed/Forrest was great in getting corrected thru VRBO. However, would definitely stay again when in the area. Had unseasonably warm 70 degree high days for a weekend in late January, and I could sit on that porch all day. Ahhh.

We love the location. Very sweet town. Beautiful place to relax a few days. However...food was left in fridge. Belongings left in dresser. Used shampoo bottles in shower. LR furniture very outdated and uncomfortable. Two of the beds have queen sized sets on full frames. Bathroom has peeling paint & light is rusted, falling out of ceiling. Only bathroom was downstairs, bedrooms located up a steep flight of steps, not meant for senior citizens. Disappointed the only TV was a smart TV but we could not connect to the internet or mirror our pc or phone.
