Gorgeous & Welcoming Home

We had the most beautiful stay at the Pines. There are so many gorgeous spaces to spend time, both inside and outside. It’s so clear that Lisa and Jorge LOVE this property! All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Highly recommend for large group stays!

I hosted my wedding at The Pines and unfortunately would not recommend it. Full details are available in the attached screenshot. Here's a brief summary of our experience:The Pines is historic, beautifully restored, and incredibly comfortable. My family and I loved our time there. Lisa, the property manager, is outstanding. She is knowledgeable, caring, and deeply invested in both the property and the guest experience. While my stay was wonderful once we arrived, the host’s sparse communication, last-minute contract, lack of transparency, and inability to fulfill his obligations in a timely manner made the planning process extremely stressful.

We did a company offsite here in the fall. The place was perfect with everything we needed to cook meals. sleep and work well. It really was ideal.

Wedding weekend

Great place for the family to stay for my son's nearby wedding. Loved all the decorating details and that the history of the house was shared with us. Staying at the Pines made a wonderful weekend even better.

This house is excellent for large groups. There were 17 of us. It has been restored to authentic Victorian style with curated furniture, lighting, and beautiful wallpaper. There are so many beautiful details in every room I did not have time to photograph them all. The house is very comfortable, the bedrooms are spacious with updated bathrooms. The kitchen works very well and you have the choice of casual and formal dishes, linens, and glassware to create an elegant setting. The porch was our favorite hang out place ( we had great weather). Beautiful landscaping. I would definately rent again because the owner is very responsive and gracious. Thank you Jorge and Lisa for making our stay very special and comfortable.

We rented this property for friends and family in town for our daughter’s wedding at Stissing House. It was perfect and well beyond our expectations for the weekend. So many places to gather for conversation, food and large scale entertaining. We hosted 18 people in the house and added 15 one night and another 20 the next night. Literally perfect.The property manager is wonderful and has added some wonderful upgrades such as an amazing coffee room. Highly recommend this unique property- truly a unicorn. The listing does not do it justice.

Gorgeous House

We had such an amazing time at this property! The house itself feels like its stopped in time in all the best ways and my friends and I all felt like we were living in a movie and had so much fun. The location is great and walkable to some great restaurants as well as drivable to a number of amazing towns. So perfect for a special trip!

Great stay!

The house is super cool, huge and beautiful. Very stately! Awesome for a big group. We stayed there for our wedding (wedding was at my family’s home but we stayed at the Pines with our friends) and it was perfect. The host was very kind and available as well. Definitely recommend the pines!

Wonderful wedding weekend!

My daughter’s wedding was held on Saturday at the Stissing House down the street. My family, kids and grandkids, siblings and friends arrived Friday. The house was magically decorated for the season. Lisa, the manager gave us our tour and came back the next day to reprise for the rest of our guests! We enjoyed every minute of our visit and our guests did, too! Wonderful memories for everyone!

Perfect House for dinners with friends

The house is absolutely stunning, and the hosts are very responsive. We hosted a large dinner for friends and found that the kitchen had everything we might possibly need (stand mixers, cuisinarts, pans, etc) to prepare a multi-course meal. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and hope to come back again soon for a repeat.

Great get away at the pines

Me and my group of loved ones enjoyed our stay at the tremendously. The host was very responsive and courteous. The beautiful home had such a nostalgic vibe going on, from the decor to the bed room linin. I would absolutely revisit this estate and recommend to groups who are interested in solidtude. Wedding of dreams!

We chose The Pines for our wedding in July, which was a dream come true! The excellent communication, warmth, and clear information provided by Jorge and Lisa (not to mention the impeccable care for the one-of-a-kind property), made our stay at The Pines so special. We used the park-like backyard and wooded area as the location for our ceremony, and our friends and family absolutely fell in love with it. The house itself, where members of our wedding party stayed, and the full experience, exceeded all expectations.

What an AMAZING home & piece of property

A few of my friends and I came to The Pines to celebrate my 28th birthday. To say this place is amazing is an understatement. The home is exactly as pictured, and perfect for a fun weekend with friends. The host (Jorge) and his wife were extremely helpful and friendly. All of the bedrooms were super comfortable and clean. The property around this house is spectacular, with beautiful landscaping and trees. I will absolutely be coming back.

words can't describe

the unique and quirky experience of our stay. Our extended family of 16 thoroughly enjoyed ourselves--whether cooking up meals in the well-equipped kitchen with it's antique icebox that we were hard pressed to fill; the main rooms lovingly decorated for the Christmas holidays; the generous dining room where we hosted an elaborate murder mystery dinner among other memorable dinners. The old mansion was not perfect--it could be quite cold in the kitchen dining area, a storm one night had the whole place rollicking, the plumbing could be sensitive--but those things only added to the charm and magic that is The Pines. Our hosts were lovely and responsive.

Beautiful family getaway

The house was beautiful and accurately described. The host was responsive. Beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is well-appointed. Awesome dining room table to spend time together. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We would definitely stay again. It would be a great couples getaway in addition to a family get away. It would be great in warmer weather especially to take advantage of the beautiful porches. The towns around the area were great to visit.... awesome hiking trails nearby and a great place to run as well.

Unique Celebration

Celebrated my birthday here with a group of friends. From the wallpaper to finishings, the house itself is quite special. It's not shown in photos, but it's got a great professional kitchen as well, and is well-stocked with everything you need to entertain a large group. Would be hard to find something this unique, especially that can accommodate so many people. Communication and check-in was easy as well. Highly recommend!

Downtown Abbey Meets Schitt's Creek in This Stunning & Spacious Victorian Mansion!

My family and I (14 people) recently stayed at The Pines to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was perfect! Throughout the entire booking process Jorge was helpful and responsive. Lisa, the property manager, was in touch with me on arrival day and greeted us when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the property and a brief history of the mansion. The mansion was spotless and spacious. The kitchen was a particular highlight for us, as we cooked most of our meals there. Appliances were upgraded and the stove/over was commercial quality. There were plenty of pots, pans, and serving plates/utensils, so cooking for 14 was a breeze. I really can't say enough good things about this gem. I really hope we can return for another family trip in the future.

Wow!

This house is really incredible. Perfect place for our group of 19 family members. We cooked both nights in the fantastically appointed kitchen and ate like royalty at the long table in the formal dining room. The market around the corner (Peck's) has everything you didn't bring (or everything you need). The lawn was perfect for us to set up and enjoy badmitten. Check in included a really fun tour of the house and property with some stories and history. Highly recommend.
