Beautiful host and accommodation

We were welcomed by Joyce on arrival to our beautiful one bedroom apartment underneath her home. We. Had everything we needed including a super comfy bed. The beach was right across the road with a beautiful sunset. Nice and sare and quiet. Will be back again!

Waihau Bay Bluefin Tuna trip

Four of us tried our luck for the Southern Bluefin run during the 1st week of July 2021. We brought a Stabi 2050 which was easily parked outside the units (Note: >7m boats may be difficult to access the gateway). The units had everything we needed and the recreation room was an awesome place for all of us to catch up in the evening. Great BBQ too! Highly recommend and we will be returning 2022.

Located oppersite the beach is great.

Everything we needed was supplied, it made for a lovely relaxed 3 day break while attending a family wedding nearby.

Top Spot

Loved my stay Joyce was wonderful on my arrival and her relatives were so thoughtful on my leaving... It's a beautiful location and in a prime spot for travelling in either direction. For sure will stay again as valued the opportunity to see part of the East Cape.

Hamblyn Stay

The unit was well appointed for our needs. The water and milk was a nice touch. There was a common rec type room which was well set up. The room was serviced every day. I did have a problem getting my boat parked but the driveway was being widened during our stay which will over come that issue.

Best spot in Waihau Bay

This is like a home away from home as everything you need is right there, being located opposite the beautiful sandy swimming beach and rocks to explore was fantastic, Joyce and Terry are a lovely couple and very welcoming and Sian made the whole booking process a breeze and has great fast communication. We are looking forward to going back.

Totally Relaxing

This a great spot for a quiet getaway. It's far away from most things to have a nice remote feel, but still close to some tiki tour touristy places to do day trips. The amenities on site are well suited if you're going to be doing your own cooking and what not (there are no local McDonald's to dash out to). Sian is a great host. I should have booked for a longer stay. :)

Fantastic setup

The owners were fantastic and went over and above. The units are awesome and its right on the beach. 100% recommend. We had our boat with us and it would be the perfect driveway with a couple of small fence modifications (the angles mean you cant get a big boat right in, but we could back a 7.5m into the bottom driveway).

A g reat place to stay we loved it,

the unit was very well equipped with everything one could want and every comfort. Joyce and Terry very welcoming nice people and made us feel very at home. The weather was amazing and the beach so good for swimming and relaxing by. the check in process was my own fault at not having all the info written down, was unable to access the internet, didnt have house number so had trouble finding the apartment , had to ask for help, which in the end provided the info we needed.

Friendly and helpful hosts

We booked the place at sort notice, due to a cancellation. It turned out to be even better placed for us to explore East Cape on our NZ travels. The only thing was that the very limited cooking facilities were made more difficult by a leaking saucepan and no suitable dish with a lid to use in the microwave oven. However, we managed! The bed is very comfortable and the space is light and airy.
