Vårt nybyggda hem ligger mittemot stranden vägen (strandstopp 11) på Lake Shore Drive. Huset slutfördes i juni 2018. Huset har en öppen layout - köket öppnar upp till vardagsrum / matsalar. Huset har 7 sovrum, 4 badrum, en färdig utbyggd källare, ett stort främre däck och en skärmad veranda i ryggen.

Vårt hem har 7 sovrum och 4 badrum. Sovrumslayouterna är som följer:

Utrymmet

Du kommer att älska detta fritidshus direkt från stranden stigen på Lake Shore Drive. Vårt hem har ett par bra utomhusalternativ: ett stort däck på framsidan av huset och en skärm veranda i ryggen. Insidan av huset har en öppen planlösning, med kökets öppning till matsalen och vardagsrummet. Det stora matbordet passar 10-11 personer (8 stolar och en bänk). Vi har också en extra 4 personer hopfällbart bord och stolar i skafferi som kan läggas till matbordet för en stor middag. Vardagsrummet har en stor sektionssofa. Källaren har ett familjerum med 2 soffor och 2 extra fåtöljer.

Det finns 3 TV i huset: vardagsrummet och källaren har storskärms-TV med tillgång till Comcast Cable och Roku. Sovrummet har en Roku-TV. Huset har trådlöst internet (wifi). Det finns plats för upp till 5 fordon i uppfarten framför huset.

Detta hem har gott om överklagande under hela året. Det är perfekt för en sommarstrandsemester, en fallfluga för att se de vackra bladen, en Notre Dame fotbolls helg, en lugn snöig vinterns reträtt, en avkopplande vårfrukost eller en vinprovning helg när som helst!

Loved the BEACH

So close to the beach! Great big home. As described. Could use more paper towels, bar soap, shampoo and conditioner. Overall, very comfortable.

The property worked well for us

We had plenty of room for all 17 of us, however, if you have trouble climbing stairs it’s not for you.

Visiting the Indiana National Park was the goal which we accomplished but I would NOT recommend the VRBO at Lake Shore Dr that was a 7 bedroom beach home. There was too many things in disrepair and did NOT even come close making it a pleasant place to stay. Some of the major issues include a non working kitchen sink drain, HVAC didn’t work after the second night, fire alarms going off at all times during day and night, cold water faucet broken on jacuzzi and bath tub drains not holding water. Also it was very unsafe for having a crawling infant as screen doors to front deck were ripped. No baby gates to keep crawling infant off all the stairs or a working & safe Pack n Play. After arriving home from trip, I composed a list of 26 items that needed the owner’s attention. Owner was notified immediately as soon as issues arose or were identified. I felt that I got a run around when corresponding to owner. Most of the things were issues that had been there for quite sometime.My husband and son in law have 60 years of home construction between them as well as years as a building inspector. The few items I have identified in this message are all safety and health code violations!

We were a large group- 5 families. We all fit in the house with plenty of room. Kitchen and eating area work well for big meals. Beach access was perfect. House is a little run down, but all just cosmetic and what I expect from a vacation rental. I would rent again.

Family gathering

We had a family gathering for 18 people and had plenty of room for everyone. We were able to park 5 vehicles with no issues in the driveway. The house is across the street from the beach with a short walk.

Winter Stay

Great place for our group of 15. Easy access to Lake Michigan, and plenty of space to spread out. A couple of broken items were there when we arrived, but nothing detrimental to our experience.

Family time

The house is awesome for 13 people however it needs a deep clean with some numerous minor repairs needed, have a list of 13 items which need repair. Also some TLC but overall perfect location but not paying listing price for next year!

Tidy but microwave didn't work!

The home is tidy and stocked at the level expected of a rental but not super clean. The microwave by all appearances should function - timer runs and it makes noise but doesn't heat anything which is tough when eating out and with children. Overall a nice stay, easy check in and out, and great access to the private beach a short walk away.

Family Wedding Spot

This was a great place to host our family and friends who were coming into town for a family wedding. Lots of rooms and great location. It seems like it has some wear and tear so don't think it's brand new but the owner was super attentive to the repairs needed and made sure to respond to my messages quickly. I'd definitely recommend it for a family and friends get together!

We had the best time! Location was perfect!

The shore line was just steps away and being out there looking at that huge body of water was breathtaking! It was cool but refreshing at the same time! The house had plenty of room the beds were comfortable and we all slept great! I had some questions about the area before we arrived and Collin our host replied within the hour with all kinds of resources and we appreciated that so much! We hope to be back again next year!

A great long weekend stay.

The house was wonderful. Our group of 11 friends found the house to be a lovely getaway for a long weekend. When we checked in we noted a few small issues and the host , Colin, came to address them right away. The layout is great for a large group and having two porches is a nice bonus. We are already making plans to return to this house again.

Book Club 20th Anniversary

This house was huge and the bedrooms and bathrooms were most sufficient and comfortable. The host was very easy to work with and accommodating on a few small issues we had. The access to the lake and beachfront was so easy and accessible. Beautiful beach. There were 10 of us and this property was more than sufficient for us. It does need a bit of tender loving care though. The sun porch was dirty and the metal strip on the stove was coming off. A few towel racks had come down and not been replaced but just left with the mounting hardware. Little things like that which made it good not excellent on the review

Great location. Steps from the beach, however, the dishwasher was broken (we were told about that) and we were given no compensation for that. The property overall felt dirty and poorly stocked.

Thanksgiving weekend away

Our family of 17 stayed for 4 nights, the house was perfect for us - plenty of very comfortable beds and space. Kitchen was very well stocked and house was very clean. The owner Colin was very quick to respond to the few questions we had. It was too cold to be at the beach but water was literally across the street. I would highly recommend this house!

Great House and Location

This was a great spot for a beach vacation--the house was spacious and an easy walk to the beach. We'd stay here again if pets were allowed. The hosts were very responsive--there were a few minor things that would have been nice to have (salt/pepper shakers, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent), but the hosts had more pods delivered when we asked about their location. They also had a new coffee maker delivered when the current one stopped working.

TLC

This property has a lot of space and a lot of rooms. The location was ideal. We had two kids (4 and 6) who could easily walk to the beach with no hesitation. We didn't have a stroller, but a stroller would have a tough time accessing the beach. The house itself needs a lot of TLC and/or updates. There were a lot of missing paint patches over the walls, cabinets falling apart, stained sheets on the bottom of one of the bunk beds, the dishwasher was broken and the fridge never got cold enough for drinks. So, for the price we paid, it was a little disappointing. If those things are fixed or updated, we will definitely be back.

Lake House

The place is in a great location and sleeps a lot of people but it was not clean, bare minimum furniture which was old and uncomfortable. Provided only the smallest amount of staples - Toilet paper, paper towels, etc. (although he stated that in his instructions). Deck and porch furniture was falling apart. The place looked like a college apartment. For the price we were Very disappointed

Great Summer Getaway

Our family celebrated Thanksgiving here and had a wonderful time. The views of the lake are stunning. My only reservation is that the place appears to be focused on summer rentals. For example, there are no extra blankets, just the thin ones on the beds. Also while there are two excellent gas grills on the deck one propane tank was empty and the other was one third full. Despite that it worked out great for our family. In our master bedroom the toilet roll holder was missing from the wall. In another bedroom our daughter said the first pull on the paper roll and it broke from the wall. This is the fifth year we have celebrated Thanksgiving at Lake Michigan and this place was one of the best.

Great stau

Was a great place for 10 adults and 13 children to stay. It was very cold and windy unfortunately but people still walked to the beach and enjoyed it. Lots of space. We didn't use the downstairs living room, as we wanted to be together. But there was plenty of space on the kitchen level. We even fit all 13 at the dining room table by adding some of the bar stools at the table. A few upgrades would definitely help: towel rack off wall on middle level; broken bench on deck by beach, definitely needed more than 2 dishwasher pods with so many people. A couple beds supported on corner books, downstairs bath had rusty vent and could use some paint.

Nice home; needs some TLC

This is nice home and can be a really nice home again with some TLC. Main areas were clean, however, needs a deep clean. A lot of cosmetic fixes are needed. Kitchen cabinet door missing, crown molding missing. Floor bulging around kitchen sink/dishwasher...i am assuming a leak somewhere. A whole lot of light bulbs need to be replaced. TV in basement is broken...cannot see the screen damage until you turn it on. We did a walk thru as soon as we arrived and took a lot of pictures of what was wrong. Be happy to send to someone. Excellent location and neighborhood.

Needs a deep cleaning

The house is in a great location and has lots of space but needs a deep cleaning and updates. We found hairs in a couple of the beds and had to wash all the sheets before we could use them. One of the bedrooms in the basement had numerous cobwebs in it and no one could use it. Not to mention that the closest is unfinished and the room has no baseboards. There is mold in the basement shower and every shower curtain in the house had pink mold on the bottom. The floors where extremely dirty and didn't appear to have been swept before we arrived. There are towel racks missing in the bathrooms. We contacted the host to express our concerns during our stay and got no response. The house is definitely not as nice as reflected in the online pictures. The kitchen is well equipped and the house provides many beach amenities but that doesn't make up for the condition of the house that we experienced.

Good location, disappointing accommodations for too high a price!

House looks beautiful/brand new from the outside and is steps away from the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan. Unfortunately, there are many safety, cleanliness and supply issues with this home. First of all, the basement area (that we were depending on the bedrooms to sleep) was freezing, no matter how high the heat was set. The bedroom with the queen bed had a non-functional smoke detector (with wires hanging down) and a giant exposed gaping hole to a crawl space behind the dresser (easily seen, clear it was trying to be hidden). We were hoping the basement would be a fun place for the older kids to hang out but it was cold, unsafe and not comfortable. The furniture was old and inhospitable. The WiFi also barely worked in the basement, making the TV frustratingly unusable. The kitchen also had many issues. The oven was filthy, the refrigerator filter for water was old (change filter light was on) and there were barely any supplies. Almost all of the pots, pans, Tupperware, silverware, spices, sugar, salt/pepper, cooking utensils were old looking and dirty. The house also claims that it’s “well-stocked” and that fact could not be further from the truth. We have stayed in many rental homes and know to bring extra toilet paper, kleenex, dishwasher beads, laundry supplies, paper towels etc. Upon entering the house, we were supplied with a few rolls of (cheap) toilet paper, no Kleenex, and half a roll of paper towels. We also had tried to use the Keurig coffee machine and it didn’t work. We reached out to the owner on our first full day and he promised a deliver of some requested supplies and a new coffee machine. Nothing was ever delivered. We left another message two days later and still never heard back. The bath towel situation was also dismal. All of the towels were old, didn’t match and there were barely any supplied. The same goes for the bedding. It’s almost like everything supplied (and in the house in general) was old and pre-used. Overall, the house felt very dirty. There were spider webs on the light fixtures, black animal (?) hairs on the bedsheets in two of the upstairs beds. The house was very dusty. Underneath the bed on the first floor there was a lot of dust and a broken bottle. The couch in the living room was old and uncomfortable. Save your money and rent another house. Save your money and rent another house.
