Casa Cerretillo är ett vackert upprätthålls, rymlig, fristående rustikt hus, med inslag av regionens moriska förflutna. Det ligger inbäddat på El Cerretillo med oavbruten och fantastisk utsikt över de böljande oliv kullar, Mount Tinosa och byn Algarinejo. Belägen längs en kort spår strax ovanför vägen betyder det lugnt läge är lättillgänglig. Ange från den privata uppfarten till helt gated söderläge uteplats och privat 10x5 meters bassäng med solterrass, är detta en underbar plats att känna sig närmare naturen, som ändå erbjuder alla bekvämligheter, bara TV och DVD-spelare tillgängliga (OBS mycket begränsad kanaler tillgängliga på satellit-TV). Njut av den lokala floran och faunan - (! & Mandelblom uppskattar) promenader, cykling, ridning, fågelskådning. Med den historiska staden Granada bara 1 timme och Iznajar sjö och strand 30 minuter bort och många historiska byar lokalt - du får det bästa av två världar. Detta 3 sovrum hus med separat kök, matsal och vardagsrum är perfekt för en romantisk get-away eller familjesemester.

Great holiday

We , 2 couples had a great holiday in Casa Cerretillo, everything was perfect. Nice kitchen , big bedrooms , we loved the pool area and the pergola where we sat a lot in the evenings eating good good and drink fine drinks. It was better than we thought from the begenning. Jenny and Mark who meet us and showed us everything , was really nice and helpful, thanks for that. We are coming back som day. Sincerely Solweig, Magnus, Annika and Mats.

Ruhe und Lebensfreude pur

Das Haus war einfach nur wunderbar. Es hat unsere Erwartungen sogar noch übertroffen. Insbesondere die Aussenküche hat uns sehr beeindruckt, diese dürfte man im Inserat unbedingt erwähnen, auch mit Bildern. Im Dorf gibt es einen kleinen Mercado, wo man alles bekommt. Es hat sogar ein Top Restraurant im Dorf, leider hatten sie Ferienpause. Priego und Iznajar sollte man nebst Granada und Gordoba unbedingt besuchen. Die beiden kleinen Orte sind Andalusien pur!

Even better than before

This was our second visit to Ursula’s lovely house, the last being nine months previous. There have been some huge changes which made our stay even more enjoyable. There’s a new outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, gas hob, sink and fridge. It’s well lit, sheltered and provides excellent shade. There are new steps leading up to the pool which has also helped and there’s a new area for the sun loungers. A fabulous addition to what was already a great holiday rental. It’s a comfortable, extremely clean, well managed house with amazing views and a fabulous pool. Highly recommended for a peaceful break in the Andalucian hills.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

We absolutely loved our time in Ursulas cottage. The view is really special, we were treated to deer running across the opposite hill and eagles flying overhead! There are plenty of very comfortable seating areas outside and a good amount of shade. The pool was spotless and a perfect size. The house was immaculate and the kitchen is very well equipped. Sheets and towels were changed mid way through our two week stay. Sue was so friendly and really helpful when it came to local advice. The local town of Algarinejo is friendly and relaxing with a handful of bars and restaurants and a small supermarket that has everything you need including a small daily fishmongers and butchers. Such a peaceful house in a beautiful place. We can’t recommend it enough.

Maison très agréable avec une jolie vue

Cette maison située dans un coin reculé (sur les hauteurs du village) dispose d'une vue magnifique sur les montagnes environnantes. Confortable, bien équipée, joliment décorée et spacieuse (avec un petit salon au frais, plusieurs douches, une grande cuisine...), cette maison offre un cadre très agréable pour les vacances. La terrasse extérieure est calme, ombragée et parfaitement adaptée aux repas en extérieur. La piscine est grande, très bien exposée au soleil, sans vis-à-vis et propre. Une place de parking permet de garer sa voiture dans de bonnes conditions. Au final, il s'agit d'une excellente maison de location.

Fabulous stay

We had a wonderful stay at Ursula’s beautiful house. Ursula, Sue and Mark were very helpful. This was a long awaited booking from 2020 and it was worth the wait. Beautiful views from the fabulous pool, we loved that the pool was the same depth throughout so was beautifully and warm. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the stunning view. The property is in a wonderful peaceful location , I will miss drinking my morning coffee watching the birds and family of deer just below the house . Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great family holiday in rural Andalucia

All the family loved the villa. It had everything we needed. My son especially enjoyed the pool. There are plenty of shady spots to avoid the hotter temperatures of the day. The location is stunning too, just a few miles away from Algarinejo up in the hills. We made trips to Seville, Granada and Cordoba which were accessable as day trips. I would recommend 100%

Long awaited holiday

We’d booked this holiday back in 2019 and like many others had to keep postponing due to the pandemic. Owners were great throughout and it was well worth the wait. Highly recommended.

Stunning location surrounded by Olive Groves and rolling hills. The house is nicely renovated and the outside area and pool South facing so breakfast, lunch and dinners outdoor in October still possible. Highly recommended

Un endroit merveilleux

Cette maison est vraiment très agréable et nous avons une très belle semaine de vacances. Il ne nous manquait rien, le paysage est magnifique, la piscine au top et les chambres très confortables. Nous avons adoré la ville de Montefrio et apprécié les tapas ! Je recommande la casa Cerretillo !

Great house with fabulous view.

I stayed in the house with my family and we loved it. A large pool and nice and tidy rooms. We especially loved the quietness, the view and the sunsets. Sue was always very helpful and friendly. We stayed there in summer so hiking was a bit difficult in the heat but for spring and autumn it is a great place to start walks. The next towns are all 30-45 mins away but Algerinejo, a village, is just a 10 minute drive and has shops, restaurants and bars. They even have a Michelin star restaurant (Piolas) which is really outstanding. Very good food for reasonable pricing (considering the Michelin star). Only negative with Piola is, that the prices of the bill in the end was much higher than on the menu. They stated, that the menu was wrong which obviously is a rip off. So if going there it is best let them confirm the prices for the 8 and 12 course menu explicetly.

Le calme absolu

De la piscine, toujours ensoleillée vous aurez une vue magnifique. La maison est fraîche et très bien entretenue. Le lits sont confortables et chacune des chambres sa propre salle de bain, c'est très appréciable ! Attention aux escaliers : non adaptés aux jeunes enfants ou personnes âgées. Nous avons passé un séjour formidable. Grenade est à un peu plus d'une heure, parfait pour y passer la journée. Très belle expérience à renouveler sans hésitation !!

Peace and relax

We spent a lovely week. After 4 months at home due to Covid restrictions, we wanted a relax week without stress, enjoying the pool and the nature. And we have it. An special mention to Sue and Mark that help us with everything we need.

El Cerretillo

We stayed 2 weeks at El Ceretillo. 1 1/2 hours away from Malaga, near Algarinejo. The house has a beautiful setting facing the hills and a very private lovely pool. We were welcomed by Mark and Jenny, the caretakers of the property. The house is clean, has everything you need , plenty of shady areas and as stated a really nice pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our children the first week and with a friend of ours the second week. Day trips we made to Montefrio, Prieto de Córdoba and Iznajar. All within easy drive of the house. Iznajar is lovely. Algarinejo, 10 minutes drive from the house , has a supermarket and 3 restaurants. The pizzeria on the square is nice but the pizza’s aren’t great! Instead go for the fresh grilled shrimps and croquettes with ham and chicken! Wonderful. Piolas is a Michelin star restaurant and we were actually a bit disappointed. It wasn’t bad but we thought it was not Michelin star food. The best restaurant is la Huella, which is a bit more towards the edge of the village. We can honestly say that the food is wonderful and reasonably prices. An absolute must for an evening out! So we had a great stay, loved the house, the weather and the restaurants. The only thing we would have loved to see in the kitchen is a microwave. We can highly recommend this beautiful house to future visitors!

Great house in good location with fantastic views.

Our first stay here. We were a group of two couples. The house was excellent and very well equipped with everything we needed for the week. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all top quality. The pool and outside areas were great with stunning views across the valley. The local village was a nice 20 minute walk or five minute drive away with a good supermarket and good selection of bars. The Casa Piolas restaurant in the square is outstanding, with some of best food we have had in Spain. Overall a great experience and a top quality house in a very private setting but with good access to local amenities. Highly recommended.

A Great Week

Fantastic views from the terrace. Great location. Great set-up (including good-sized pool). Lovely to see Mark & Jenny again, who welcomed us to the villa (this was our third visit). Facilities fine, though no cable or satellite TV.

We are Ursula and Mike living in a lovely corner of Essex, England. Between us we have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. We spend as much time in the area as we can in the Algarinejo area because we love the weather and the way of life.

We love to welcome guests - many people have returned to us over many years and it's wonderful that they too have created many memories.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The house is actually owned by Ursula's Dad who bought the house after coming to the area and seeing the view from our old ramshackle Cortijo about 10KM away. We refurbished it, built the pool and in 2022 added an outdoor kitchen & dining area with rustic outdoor pizza oven and a large patio with bar area.

It's a peaceful place and at 850m high it feels like you're on top of the world. Great for gaining new perspectives and deep relaxation.
We love this 'slice of paradise' so much that Mike and I (Ursula) got married there in September 2024 surrounded by family and friends and a beautiful sunset.

We fell in love with the area because of the simplicity of life, the countryside is so beautiful with incredible views and is still largely undiscovered by tourists in general.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Our guests tell us that its an instantly relaxing place and that it feels very homely - helping you to feel like you instantly belong there! You can enjoy the lovely patios and private swimming pool in the hotter months.

The house is cosy in the winter and the cooler months - with a heating system (something that most houses don't have in southern Spain) as well as a wood burning stove where you can cosy up with a good book or watch Netflix or Prime on TV. Its also a great base for walking - just head straight out from the house and walk up to the top of Cerretillo (and get a glimpse of the Sierra Nevada which usually has snow December - May) take a short trip into the village for some delicious food, head to historical Priego de Cordoba or or to the Sierra Subbetica we've seen some fantastic wildlife and birds of prey there.

We're proud of our eco credentials - we were the first house in the area to get solar panels and all the hot water is providing from the panels on the roof of the house.

We love to pick the almonds, figs, grapes and olives if we're there and enjoy the almond blossom in February/March. Please feel free to pick the fruit and nuts if you're there during late summer/early autumn.
