Området är rikt på skönhet och djurliv, ligger i hjärtat av Perthshire med sina kullar, sjöar, floder och skog. Den lilla staden Aberfeldy är åtta miles away och den pittoreska byn Kenmore i spetsen för floden Tay är bara sex miles. Glen Lyon, Skottlands längsta och vackraste dalgång sträcker West i över 35 miles och silvriga band av floden Lyon ekon konturerna i byn eftersom det Vender sin väg österut att ansluta sig till Tay. The Byre erbjuder rymligt och bekvämt boende för upp till sex gäster i tre sovrum med två badrum och liten privat trädgård med grillplats och sittplatser med utsikt över skogsmark. Handikappanpassat. Location, location. This charming cottage is right across the street from lush green pastures and sheep. Just steps away is also a hotel that you can pop over for a drink or dine inside. This was the perfect location for our family to take day trips and return to our quaint cottage to enjoy a meal or warm up by the fire. We had a great stay!

Pleasant but not for cold weather!

Three of us adults were comfortable, but cold. The heating cost of fuel and wood for stove was high and made our comfort stressful. Otherwise, moral was easily accessible, accommodating and pleasant. Thank you, Frederica

Enjoyable stay

Well since you’re asking! Everything was good, apart from just three things. The freezer didn’t work, the door didn’t close properly. The oven and stove top were questionable; the cool down cycle on the oven was long and loud. The master bed mattress was a bit skinny and quite uncomfortable. Everything else was great.

Perfect getaway at the base of the highlands

We spent three nights in this lovely place. It was comfortable, tidy, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for getting a taste of Scotland, away from crowds. Highly recommend.

All good. Slightly disappointed in the initial impression .. lots of bins outside, dead baskets & weeds in entrance path and in garden at front plus the same in the rear garden, patio full of weeds & garden furniture in need of some love. Spacious property, clean, a little dark with brown being the dominant colour. Welcome milk, tea, coffee, sugar, no welcome pack. Oven needs cleaning. Comfy beds. Bedroom overly garden on the chilly side. Loved the location, Fortingall very beautiful.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful setting!

We enjoyed every aspect of or stay. The cottage was immaculate and had everything required for an enjoyable stay. The owner and caretaker were only a phone call away and only too happy to help when we had a request for an extra evening stay. Nothing was to much trouble. We would definitely recommend the cottage for exploring the wonderful countryside in the area.

Hidden gem in Glen Lyon

Lovely cottage, all we needed except TV was very old and we could not access subtitles for my partner who has severe hearing loss. Fortingall Hotel just next door, food excellent.

Beautiful property in the heart of Scotland

My husband, sister, niece and I stayed a week in The Byre this May. The property is second to none. It is so well appointed, roomy, bright, tastefully decorated and spotless. It has it's own private garden for sitting out or eating a large kitchen and dining area, a very generous living room and comfortable spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. On top of all that it is located in a truly fascinating little village with a lovely little pub and a hotel just a few meters away (It was off season, so we didn't get a chance to make use of the hotel restaurant, but it looked very inviting) instead when not cooking at the property, we ate in both Kenmore and Aberfeldy which are not far from Fortingall. The village is central to so much of Scotland, Glencoe, Pitlochry, The Trossachs, Glasgow and the coast. It is a perfect place for a restful holiday with plenty of room for a family of 4 to 6. I can't recommend it highly enough. Wish I was back there.

New Year at the Byre

Lovely property, very comfortable. We hit snowed in but were well supplied and the surroundings just looked magical. Very friendly neighbours and locals. Would return, a lovely festive break.

Great home base for our adventures.

We loved staying at The Byre, the location was perfect as a base for our hill walking and Munro bagging, while still being an easy drive away from Glasgow and Edinburgh for city adventures. Coming home to the cozy wood stove after a long day hiking was just perfect, and the well equipped kitchen had all we wanted for cooking meals. Having two bathrooms and such an open living space was just what we needed when family joined us part of the stay.

This is my first time in Scotland and it has left me wanting more. The accommodation was amazing and all amenities were there. The house was beautifully clean and a perfect home from home. We all really enjoyed our stay and felt fully recharged.

We are passionate about Scotland and the beautiful area of Fortingall. It is such a magical place where time seems to slow down to a much gentler pace. We feel very honoured to own a property in such a fabulous area and the large number of returning guests seem to validate our opinion!

The Byre was converted from a former cattle shed in 2007 along with The Stables, The Salmon House and The Granary in a delightful enclosed courtyard setting. Our home is Perthshire and we adore the tranquility of the area and encouraging visitors to share in the magic and enjoy the countryside.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We love slowing down from the hectic pace of life associated with work and cities. Fortingall is so peaceful and is a superb base for walkers, climbers as well as for those touring around the Scottish Highlands. The Byre is located within a few steps of the Fortingall Hotel, where guests can eat in the restaurant or relax in the cosy bar.
