Detta är en 3 sovrum 2 badrum konverterade ladugården undangömt i en lugn landsväg men ändå inom räckhåll för många turistattraktioner. Nyligen utökat, moderniserat och renoverat kommer det att sova sex bekvämt. På övervåningen finns ett stort dubbelrum med inbyggd garderob och skåp, ett tvåbäddsrum och ett badrum med integrerad dusch över badkaret. Nedervåningen finns ytterligare ett sovrum med dubbelsäng, duschrum med toalett och handfat, ett ljust kök med ugn, spis, mikrovågsugn och tvättmaskin. Det finns ett stort vardagsrum och matplats med TV, DVD-spelare, spel och böcker. Ladan är söderläge men för kallare väder finns golvvärme i bottenvåningen och gaseldade radiatorer på övervåningen. Det finns gränslöst varmt vatten! Det är i ett mycket lugnt läge med tillgång till en stor privat trädgård och skog och några steg från promenader på landsbygden. Gästerna är välkomna att vandra på marken men har också en egen sittgrupp. Du uppmuntras att inspektera grönsaksträdgården och hjälpa dig själv till allt som är moget (beroende på årstider)! Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook och Tonbridge ligger alla mindre än en halvtimmes bilresa bort och det finns ett stort antal historiska platser och berömda trädgårdar som är lättillgängliga inklusive Sissinghurst. Eurotunnel är mindre än en timme bort om du vill ha en dagstur till kontinenten.

Idyllic setting in the Kent countryside

I can thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay. Liz and Paul are the perfect hosts. We were made to feel very welcome. The barn is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfect place

Our stay was so much better than expected! A cosy retreat, perfectly well-equipped. Many sights we wanted to visit were within a 30 to 45 minute driving distance. Liz and Paul are the nicest hosts - what more can you ask for for a week in lovely Kent! Thank you so much, Liz and Paul!

Quiet, delightful, hideaway property

Comfortable, clean and well-equipped barn conversion next to the owner’s property in a large acreage. Wonderful garden with chickens, veg patch and woods to explore. A Great Adventure for supervised children to enjoy. Very hospitable owners. Highly recommended.

Wonderful stay

We spent 2 weeks here, in what turned out to be a perfect base for visiting family and many of the beautiful places in Kent. The cottage was cosy, clean and comfortable with everything we needed and in a lovely, quiet location. The children loved playing in the woods. Thank you Liz and Paul for being such attentive hosts, from the initial booking and right through our stay.

Rural Tranquility

What a beautiful property! Tastfully decorated, lovely comfortable beds and excellent showers! Downstairs bedroom was just right for my 90 year old Mum, with shower room and toilet just next door. Two bedrooms upstairs were roomy with beautiful views. Underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs kept the cottage super cosy and warm. Really well equipped kichen with dishwasher, washing machine (i think) and plenty of crockery, glasses etc. Lovely rural position in beautiful grounds. Liz and Paul were excellent hosts. We had a super time.

Lovely Barn!!!

It was such a wonderful and peaceful place to stay! Lovely setting and surroundings. Beautiful barn and very comfortable. And the hosts go out of their way to help you in all your needs. The barn has all the utilities you need and more. If possible I would surely come back. Coming from the mainland it is only a one hour drive from the Eurotunnel and you arrive in beautiful Kent. In one word Perfect!

A perfect stay

You can just relax in this cozy barn. The kitchen was very well organised. We enjoyed ten days with tips from Liz and Paul to get around. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved the garden and the surprises in the barn. Just marvellous. Early in the mornings and late in the afternoon you can watch some rabbits. We didn’t need the books or the TV - but it would have been great options. Liz made sure everyone of us was happy and had everything. A perfect holiday. Thank you.

Lovely Kentish property!

We had a wonderful stay at this Kentish property! We enjoyed walking around the several acres, and sitting near the apple orchard. Liz was kind enough to share her vegetable garden with us so we had fresh tomatoes and peppers in our salad. It was also very handy to have two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, the latter of which had accommodations to assist my elderly father. Thanks Liz!! Would definitely visit you again!

Wunderbare Gastgeber. Hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge. Dinge, die man braucht gibt es in der Nähe. Ansonsten Ruhe und Entspannung direkt vor der Haustüre. Obst und Gemüse zum selber pflücken. Toller Urlaub.

Some time away from it all

Just what we needed. A comfortable place with everything you need for a quiet stay in the country. We had several pleasant, interesting chats with our hosts but it was clear they never wanted to feel intrusive. A bit off the beaten track as pretty much everywhere is at least a twenty minute drive. Beware: the local roads have plenty of potholes. And then there's Elvis, the very friendly black Labrador. Definitely coming back if circumstances allow.

Very nice property, top marks

Comfortable, well equipped and spacious 3 bedroom cottage in a lovely part of the Kent countryside. The owners made us very welcome and have obviously spent a lot of time and care in maintaining the property. Would happily stay again, and can definitely recommend.

Perfect cottage for a family!

Myself, my husband and our 2 children stayed for 4 nights to visit friends locally. The cottage was very clean and extremely well equiped, it had everything we needed and more. My children loved visiting the chickens and exploring the woodland. There are plenty attractions locally to visit, we went to some lovely national trust properties, and the cottage itself is rural and peaceful. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Heerlijke week

We verbleven voor de tweede keer in de vakantiewoning. Het was wederom een erg aangename week. De woning is heel schoon en up to date, aan alles is gedacht. Liz en Paul zijn erg fijne mensen, gastvrij en heel vriendelijk naar onze kinderen toe. We hebben genoten van de prachtige omgeving. Vanuit het huis zijn er tal van mogelijkheden om interessante uitstapjes te maken naar mooie stadjes of kastelen.

We had a fabulous time last week. The house was lovely, in beautiful grounds, rural, but with easy access to towns and attractions. The owners were next door; they were very friendly and welcoming and fixed a minor issue very quickly. Would definitely recommend

Perfect location in countryside

This is a good location between Channel and London. It's only 1 hour to drive from Eurotunnel to the barn. It's easy to discover Kents' castles and gardens. And even going swimming at Eastbourne is 1 hour 20 minutes away. Also going to London is easy by train from Paddock Woods train station. It goes to London Bridge in less than 1 hour. We really enjoyed our 2 weeks in the barn and recommend it to all others. But of course, a car is necessary.

Liz Simmonds är värd

The Simmonds family have lived at Den Farm Oast (next to the Barn) for 20+ years. We thoroughly enjoy meeting and greeting people from all over the world and helping guests make the most of their time in Kent. We are very relaxed about sharing our grounds and facilities with visitors and have many repeat visitors including regular ones from Australia and Germany. We have a very kind & friendly black Labrador called Elvis who adores meeting people and is very good with nervous people. We respect the fact not all people are doggy people but please respect the fact this this is his home & he will spend time outdoors! There is usually somebody at home to answer any questions guests might have. We have tried to make the Barn as comfortable as possible and take pride in its appearance. Having experienced a few dodgy self-catering holidays we know what we would like (or not like) to find in a holiday home inc. a comfortable bed(!), plenty of crockery, a dishwasher so you're not always washing up, good cooking facilities and a decent shower and bath to name a few!

Varför värden valde detta boende

We fell in love with the property as we came up the drive. It is peaceful but not too remote, close enough to all the facilities but with plenty of space and virtually no traffic except the very occasional car or tractor. Our home, Den Farm Oast, consists of part of a barn, 1 round roundel and one square roundel. The kitchen is round as is the master bedroom! The property is surrounded by orchards (beautiful in the spring) and hop fields. It is rural but so easy to get to towns either by car, bus or train. London is only about 50 mins away by train. The neighbours are all friendly, it is safe for children and great for walking and cycling. What more could we ask for! Den Farm Oast Barn is close by but detached. You have the choice of relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet or hopping in your car and visiting one of the many famous sites around here including the Hop Farm at Beltring, Sissinghurst Gardens, Leeds Castle, Bedgebury Pinetum & Scotney Castle to name a few. A day trip to France is also easy to organise!

We have received many compliments over the years but the majority have been about the peace and comfort of the Barn, the warm welcome visitors receive from the Simmonds, the pick and eat invitation as well as its close proximity to so many wonderful sights. The number of repeat visitors is a testimony to how hard we try to make this a memorable visit for everybody! There are many lanes here for cycling and footpaths for exploring so plenty to do literally on your doorstep. This location is wonderful - in the middle of the countryside but very close to lots of famous sites and main line stations if you fancy a trip up to London.
