This is a stunning property on a quiet stretch in Lardos. The house is spacious and modern with tons of light and all the amenities. Waking up to that view of crystalline Aegean water was a treat I savored every morning and we spent a hours on that lovely veranda, lounging by day and watching the stars at night. Out back we watched the goats make their way through the mountains as we sipped our Greek coffee. Delightful!
The open floor plan in the house made it very great house for chilling after a busy day. Everyone (for part of the time we were seven people from 3 generations) could find a cool and cozy spot to read books, play games, watch the World Cup or just nap.
The location is ideal, close enough to the beach and the action, but removed enough to be a tranquil oasis. There's a grocery just across the street, walking distance to some shops and restaurants, and the rental property comes with access to all of the amenities at the St. James Hotel, just a few steps away on a path lined with pomegranate, lime, fig and olive trees. St. James has a great pool and poolside restaurant with a warm and helpful staff and a pool table and air hockey table that my kids enjoyed daily. Don't miss their Greek night!
Lardos is also in an ideal location. You are five minutes from the shops, restaurants and beaches of Pefkos. Forty-five minutes in one direction takes you to Rhodes Town and in the other you're in Prassonisi, where the Aegean and Mediterranean greet each other by a narrow strip of beach (pretty amazing). Just a 10-15 drive to the breathtaking St. Paul's Bay and Lindos - don't miss it! We did some incredible day trips from this central location and were always happy to return to our comfortable house. And, of course, if you're just looking to veg on the beach, take the beautiful, fruit tree-lined path to the St. James Beach. A lounge awaits.
We spent our first couple of nights in Rhodes Town. This was much better. Access to everything, but your own corner of paradise.
