VAD GÖR I KRYFFOMRÅDET

Gästerna frågar alltid hur är området, så jag skapade mina 10 bästa saker att göra i Crieff-området. Om du lyckas kryssa för dessa kommer du garanterat ha en underbar tid och vill komma tillbaka igen. Nu kör vi....

1. Ring of Breadalbane Explorer - det här är bussen som gör en slinga runt Perthshire, och du kan ta med dina cyklar och poppa på och dyka upp när du vill. Busshållplatsen är från Crieff Hydro Hotel (bara 5 minuters promenad från lägenheten). Jag skulle stanna in i Killin och cykla till Lochearnhead (när du tar bussen igen). Stanna av vid båda vackra byarna i Kenmore och Aberfeldy
2. Tillbringa dagen Perth under en dag, 20 min bilresa från Crieff och gå en promenad längs Tay och upp till Kinoull Hill

3. Få tåget till Edinburgh för dagen, i augusti är Edinburgh-festivalen på, men när som helst på året är det en bra tid att besöka

4. Häng med i Crieff för dagen, några fantastiska promenader / cykler runt om i området (besök turistkontoret för mer information, som är i stadens centrum)

5. Gå till Delivinos för lunch / kväll en dag (i centrum) och gå definitivt till Yanns för middag en kväll (på Perth Road, bara 5 minuters promenad från lägenheten), härlig fransk / skotsk restaurang, du behöver att boka i förväg, eftersom det är väldigt upptaget

6. Cykla / gå till Famous Grouse Distillery (cirka 1 mil bort) skotska äldsta destilleri, det finns en fantastisk tur, lätt på whisky! du faller av din cykel på väg hem. Det går en trevlig promenad över Knocken (kullen i Crieff) där Crieff Hydro är, ner på andra sidan till The Famous Grouse och sedan kan du gå runt floden Tjäna tillbaka till Crieff

7. Häng ut i MaCrosty Park och Taylor Park, nere vid floden, härliga parker för en picknick

8. Ta bussen till Comrie, söt by intill Crieff (du kan också cykla dit, ta tillbaka vägen, dess tystare och mer natursköna. Ta en kopp kaffe / lunch på Royal Hotel i Comrie. Cykla / kör upp till WW2 Prisoner of War camp, vanligtvis plats, men värt ett besök.

9. Cykla / kör över till Gleneagles Hotel (hem för Ryder Cup 2014), 5-stjärnigt världsberömda hotell, underbart ESPA-spa och restauranger som allmänheten kan använda. Om du vill skjuta ut båten, gå till Andrew Fairleys Restaurant (Scotlands endast 2 Micheln-stjärniga restaurang) - du måste definitivt boka i förväg och ta med massor av kontanter !. Taxi kommer att vara cirka £ 10 varje sätt, snygga kläder krävs !! jättebra erfarenhet.

10. Cykla / köra till Drummond Gardens precis utanför Crieff, mycket imponerande trädgårdar, det finns en väldigt cool trädkantad lång uppfart till slottet.

Wonderfully unique

A well equipped and unique flat in a former church, with the bonus of having access to the former belfry which has two club chairs and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The Town of Crieff is well situated for day trips out into the surrounding area. The town centre is only a few minutes walk, and has a fabulous specialty food store. This accomodation is highly recommended.

Beautiful and unique home away

Could not have been more pleased with our rental in the old church. All the small things are included. We had a wonderful time and the rental proceed to be a great location for exploring the area. I would happily recommend it. We fit two families comfortably and had a couple of memorable nights coming in and enjoying our after dinner drinks in the belfry.

Unique Apartment

We stayed in this unique property for 5 days in September. The apartment is on the third floor of the church building and is on 3 floors above that. It would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The views from the living room and tower are amazing and well worth the climb. The location is an easy walk to the town of Crieff and a great base for exploring the North.

First Visit to Scotland!

After flight delays we made it to Church Tower! Emily was amazing, meeting us and showing us the church tower. So beautiful and comfortable, as described. A few concerns arose and there was a bit of confusion about who the point of contact was. It all got worked out and the much anticipated delicious welcome basket did arrive; and we were able to take our goodies with us to Inverness. Crieff was a beautiful area and we enjoyed the pubs, hikes, and drives. Thank you for a wonderful first experience in Scotland.

Our stay in Crieff

The condo church tower was the most unique place we ever stayed. It was perfect for our family of five and could of fit six. Emilia was very accommodating even after we ran late for check in. The town is easy to get around, you just have to plan for dinner early. But if not there are convenient groceries for you to make dinner at the house. The owner John was able to answer all of our questions before arrival even though we were coming from the US Emilia answered any questions quickly while we were there. Very pleased and would highly recommend. The Richbourgs

Very different, excellent accomodation with stunning views

We were three couples in Crief for a walking / relaxing weekend. The accommodation was very different but also very interesting. We all had our bedroom and bath or shower facilities. Everything worked and was of good quality and it was a pleasure to be there and enjoy the space. We were fortunate to have constant sunshine and flat was filled with light from morning to evening. The balcony really made it the best, sitting out in the evening enjoying a sundowner with the sun and the views...We had a great time and i would thoroughly recommend this accomodation.(Note - the stairs may be an issue for the less able). Crief and the surrounding Perthshire countryside is fantastic with plenty of walks. The distillery is worth a visit as is the Crief Hydro Hotel for views, walking, food and activities.

weekend stay

Apartment is stunning, there were 3 of us staying for 2 nights and we had 10 relatives over for drinks one night. Everyone agreed the apartment is unique and special. Amazing views from the balcony. The kitchen was appointed with everything you would need. From the basket of goodies that was left the lemon cake was amazing, as was the fresh orange juice. But the bread loaf was stale and the milk was sour. The beds were extremely comfortable. The real negatives come from the bathrooms. Dim lighting, one single small spotlight on the ceiling that is for accenting a picture, not lighting a room, ladies you will be putting on your makeup by candlelight. Also, hate the rainshowers only, ladies don't always want to wash their hair every time they shower and it's almost impossible not to get your hair wet, PLUS, the showers in 2 of the bathrooms spray everywhere, toilet, shelf where you want to put your stuff, everywhere. So you take a shower and after a few hours you go into the bathroom, your feet, socks, slippers are completely soaked. It just doesn't dry out, even if you leave the fan on, the floor never dries out from the RAIN shower right next to the toilet that sprays everywhere! The only other complaint was that there was a lot of "sand" on the floor under where the stone walls were. It was apparent the apartment had not been recently vacuumed. I found vacuum in closet and cleaned it before our guests arrived, it was that bad.Overall, think it was a little overpriced.

great central location

The church tower was magical with a roof top deck to overlook the town of Crieff this was our home base as we traveled all over Scotland. The people are wonderful and the history you find adventures around every corner

Super stay in glorious Crieff

The Church Tower is a cracking location, for a family or group stay. Really well located, and just a short walk into the centre of Crieff, and very well equipped kitchen enabling meals to be prepared in, if so required. Very clean and comfortable, with quality bedding and furnishings. Off-street parking in a secure garage was also a benefit for storage of kids bikes.

Wunderschöne und hervorragend ausgestattete Wohnung

Wir haben sehr entspannte Tage in Crieff in dieser sehr schönen und konfortablen Wohnung verbracht. Die Einrichtung ist gepflegt und liebevoll zusammengestellt, die Ausstattung ist hervorragend. Es ist alles vorhanden, was es für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Die vielen verschiedenen Ebenen der Wohnung bieten vielfältige Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten. Von der Terrasse und vom Turm hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf Crieff und das Umland. In Crieff hat man alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vor Ort und kann direkt von der Wohnung aus zu Wanderungen und Erkundungen aufbrechen. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen. Vielen Dank hierfür!

This is a lovely property. Thoughtfully furnished, lovely touch of wine and flowers on arrival, and robes too. Would recommend. Perfect for family or group of friends. Very much enjoyed our post-lockdown getaway.

New Year in the Tower

Flat itself had character and some nice features but the building overall was bland and very anonymous in the entrance areas and outside. We had problems with the creaky floorboards, raised and damaged floorboards, the entertainment system (which frequently refused to load properly), and general layout (each of the 3 floors were divided by an unheated stairwell), but otherwise this was a good experience in an interesting environment. Management was excellent as were all communications - very accommodating and helpful making our stay as stress free as possible.

Beautiful place with great location but too expensive.

This condo needs a good cleaning. Radios in the rooms .. really?! Isn't it 2019! More TVs please -- not that you want to watch TV when you are visiting such a beautiful place. Like other reviews - FIX the stove or at least provide a guide to tell you what the knobs are for. Price when booked far in advance is too high. Hot water / tour of place when we arrived --- these were problems! More attention to details would be nice. For long stays, make it obvious how to have new linens or towels arranged. Crieff is a lovely town.

Church tower in Crieff

This property exceeded our expectations. It had that ‘funky-wow’ factor we look for in a vacation rental. Check in was a breeze, Emilia was waiting for us with a smile, flowers and a bottle of wine! She gave us the grand tour and explained everything and even let us check in early. It was very tastefully and very comfortably decorated. Comfy furnishings are important to me (more than my hubby) and the beds, couches and chairs were all comfy and cozy. The apartment could comfortably hold 2-3 couples, although it was just my husband and I. We ate in mostly from the Co-op down the road, but ate twice at The Meadow Inn just next to the Co-op. Food was quite good here and in walking distance so no worries if having a pint of whatever... Location ideal for exploring much of the country. We were sad to leave, wish we had booked for longer, and we will definitely be back.

An absolutely perfect stay

What a marvellous stay! We've had such a wonderful week in the church tower. It is perfectly equiped and very clean. The view from the tower is amazing. We couldn't stop watching the landscape changing. Crieff is a very nice town from where we started our tours. We'll surely come back.

Church Tower experience

We were three couples that had a fantastic time in this interesting and unique VRBO. We loved Crieff pubs for food. Close enough to the Highlands and airports to be a perfect spot for us.
