Idyllic Dordogne farmhouse

If you are looking for a stress free holiday in the beautiful Dordogne region, this property is perfect. We particularly loved that the house is set in totally private well managed grounds with a large swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers overlooking fields of sunflowers and grazing cows. It was very spacious for our family of three and two small dogs and had everything we needed - good sized lounge with wood burning stove/UK TV/DVD player/music system/wifi; kitchen/diner with dishwasher and two fridge/freezers; stairs from the lounge to a double bedroom and bathroom with a lovely shower for us and a further set of stairs to another bedroom in the roof space with two single beds, a double bed and an ensuite shower room, ideal for our Daughter. Near to the pool, some outbuildings house a table-tennis, a utility room (washing machine/iron and board) with a toilet and shower which was perfect when we were using the pool, plus two further rooms with beds which we didn't need but older children might love for that extra bit of holiday independence. We spent lots of time relaxing by the pool and evenings on the terrace eating bbq. When we managed to drag ourselves away, we cycled to the local river and hired a canoe and visited some of the nearby towns. The owners had thought of everything and were easily contactable to answer any questions we had. A special thank you to Peter who really made our holiday this year. We'd definitely rent this idyllic property again. Kirstin

Great views in a lovely peaceful area

Set in a lovely rural location, the converted farmhouse provides 2 bedrooms in the main house, with a further 2 positioned in a separate building adjoining the utility and barn. Ample gardens and patio provide for spectacular views over the valley, with the lovely large swimming pool perfectly positioned to further maximise the setting. The property was clean and tidy, with all the facilities you would need for a stay, added to which the owner kindly affords the use of such things as bikes for children if the need arises. Whilst the immediate village has a small cafe/pub/shop, a 5-10 minute drive takes you to the nearest town with large supermarket and an assortment of restaurants in which to dine. There's plenty to see and do within an hours drive, but equally it's a perfect location if you want to get away from it all for a week or 2. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Relaxation, peace and holiday heaven!

Roufiat felt like a home from home - but with amazing weather, much better views and a pool!! The stone farmhouse sits in a glorious spot with uninterrupted views over the valley and we spent most of our time lounging by the pool and exploring the local area (which has a lot on offer). The house is very comfortable and you can tell has been the venue for numerous fun family holidays over the years!

Lovely pool and setting. Villa could do with some TLC.

Beautiful setting. A few issues with the villa though. Needed a clean when we first arrived, had to wash all cutlery/crockery before use, wifi stopped working and it took 3 days for the owner to sort it out. Pool needed attention a few days as various power cuts threw the cleaner off its timer. Decor very shabby. We were expected to clean the whole villa before we left for the next tenants or we could pay a cleaner to come in, which we did so cost extra euros on top of rental cost.

Lovely property

Well equipped and beautifully situated house , great pool, and what an excellent view. We have stayed in many houses over the years but this must offer the best value in a lovely area. of any , with its great facilities.

Great time

I just want to mention that we had an amazing time in your house. The kids loved the pool, as did their parents (although it was a bit chilly at times). The grounds were great and the views from the garden were beautiful! Amazing surroundings! It was a brilliant holiday and we loved every minute of it! Many thanks again!
