Gamla skolhuset ligger på Loch Linnhe-sidan mellan Ballachulish och Kentallen. Det har fantastisk utsikt över loch mot bergen i Ardgour. Det finns en loch-cykelväg tvärs över vägen som ger enkel promenad och cykling med fantastisk utsikt.
Huset är utmärkt placerat för resor i alla riktningar-öster till Glencoe och Glen Etive väster till Ardnamurchan, söder till Oban och norr till Fort William, Glenfinnan och därefter.
Den unika loungen var en gång en skolrum. Det är högt i tak och dubbla, västläge fönster gör det rymligt och ljust. Lagringsvärmare och en vedspis gör det mysigt året runt.
Köket är fullt utrustat. Diskmaskinen och gott porslin gör det enkelt att ta hand om familjens måltider. En mängd olika kaféer och restauranger i närheten, vissa inom gångavstånd, gör att äta ute är ett enkelt alternativ.
Det finns tre sovrum med dubbelsäng, tvåbäddsrum och våningssäng
Det finns en mängd guideböcker och kartor i huset som hjälper dig att upptäcka och njuta av området. För tystare dagar finns det en stor sluten trädgård, TV, DVD, leksaker och spel.
Allt som allt en bra bas för att utforska eller koppla av i ett fantastiskt område!

Scotland April 2025

Comfortable cottage in a great location with easy access to the numerous great walking and cycling options in the area. Spectacular views across Loch Linnhe especially in the evening when the sun is setting. Highly recommend the Laroch Restuarant for food.

Wonderful

We had a wonderful Holiday with stunning Views. Sitting at the fire, watching the sunset with a nice Cup of tea was so relaxing. We really did not want to leave!

Trip to the Highlands

Lovely loch side location the Old School House was great. Fiona was excellent host and offered really useful and helpful information making our stay even more enjoyable. We weren’t lucky enough to experience the sunsets from the fab location but that didn’t spoil our stay. The Old School House is a great location for exploring this truly beautiful area.

Absolutely Beautiful cottage and location, just perfect

Perfectly equipped cottage with everything you could need for a family stay. The location is stunning, watching sun set every night over the loch is so very special, we have made some memories this week! Thank you so much, we have had a wonderful time.

Gorgeous place to be.

The property is so much bigger than the pictures represent, the lounge with its high ceiling and loch view is a lovely place to sit and relax. Excellent location for exploring the Glencoe valley, walks, climbs, the silver sand beaches and towns. The scenery is so amazing that driving longer distances to get places is stunning and a trip in itself. The house is really well equipped with lots of little extras being thought of, like blankets and hot water bottles, a laundry basket, bit and pieces in the kitchen, the cupboards stocked with games it’s the small things that count! Highly recommend, we loved it.

Well, well, well, what a property!

Amazing property in a wonderful location. Communication from Fiona was top notch. Friendly and informative and we were left wanting for nothing at The Old Schoolhouse. Cannot recommend it enough. We loved it so much and hopefully will be back. Our labrador, Brando, also loved it with plenty for him to do locally with lochs, glens, sights and smells. Just perfect. Sad to leave but heads filled with happy memories. Sláinte Fiona & Euan 😊

60th birthday with husbands and Sons

I wanted somewhere to stay in the Glencoe area with my family and I came across the Old School House. The views arw as seen in the advertisement absolutely stunning. Very well situated for hiking and a very well equipped cottage with a beautiful lunge and the log fire was bliss. Fiona our host went beyond to make my 60th birthday celebration really memorable. Would definitely stay again

Comfortable home in a perfect location

The Old Schoolhouse was the perfect spot for my group to explore the Western Highlands. The views from the living room were spectacular. The house itself was perfectly appointed for a comfortable stay. Fiona is very responsive and helpful.

Fantastic view over Loch Linnhe

Very comfortable house overlooking Loch Linnhe. Fantastic walking in Glencoe on our doorstep with Hollytree Hotel restaurant a short walk away. The house accommodated six of us and our dog with ease. Shops not too far away. This is a really great place to stay if you’re exploring Glencoe.

Perfect

A great place for a little holiday near Glencoe. The house was wonderful, so clean and all the amenities we needed. It was beautiful to sit outside in the evening and look out over the loch. It’s so close to so many activities, good for younger children and also older teenagers. Communication with the host was impeccable and I would love to stay there again.

A special place!

Beautiful, quiet location and those views are absolutely stunning. The schoolhouse had everything you could want during your holiday. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils for every kind of meal. The bathroom with the underfloor heating was great. But my big guilty pleasure was the living room, log fire burning, sitting with a drink on the settee and just watching the sunset go down. We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave it just felt so much like home. Fiona is a very special lady and will go to great lengths to make sure you have a wonderful stay at the schoolhouse. The schoolhouse is well situated for lots of different activities or lots of walks, be sure to try the walk along the cycle track by the house, watch out for the wildlife on the big rocks near the cycle track. We came in April and had dry sunny weather but with a cold wind. The schoolhouse garden is quite large and the bench by the wall is lovely for listening to the calming sounds as the sea laps ashore. All in all we had a fantastic time and I hope that I'll be back at some point soon. I would highly recommend staying at the schoolhouse. A big thank you to Fiona for a wonderful time.

A relaxing place to stay

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Old School House. It was well equipped, in a great location and with views to die for from the lounge window. Despite not having the best weather, we still managed to see one sunset from the front garden and had a dip in the loch! We spent most of our time sipping wine, by the log burner, watching the light change over the loch. The house is set back slightly from the main road, so there is a bit of traffic noise, but it is very peaceful at night. The cycle path runs alongside the loch for walking in the local area and many places are a short drive away. We were so comfortable and relaxed here, would love to have stayed longer.

Such a helpful host

We received fantastic communication prior to our arrival from Fiona. We were very happy with all aspects of the property and our stay and thank you for our arrival gifts. We visited with my elderly parents, as they love Scotland but cannot drive that far any more. They loved the place, with its outstanding views and easy access. Thank you Fiona. Maybe one very small suggestion: Possibly leave a front door key for a fire escape?

Outstanding

The Old School House is beautiful, a perfect location for exploring and Fiona has gone to great lengths to make this a real home from home with everything you can possibly think off, even down to cupboards full of toys for little ones and board games for all age ranges. The view from the living room and front of the school house is exactly as described and we defy anyone now to be absolutely breath taken by how stunning the surrounding area actually is. Thank you for an amazing stay Fiona and for always being the other end of a message! Hope to see you again very soon!

Lovely cottage with beautiful loch views

Cottage set back from the main road up a short track overlooking the loch giving fantastic sunsets from the lounge. Cottage quiet, clean and well equiped. Nice grassy garden surrounds the cottage. A short walk to the other side of the main road drops down to a loch side cycle path where you can walk a while in either direction away from the road. Saw seals a couple of times bobbing around in the loch. Fiona is a helpful and well organised host providing clear instructions for your booking. All in all had a lovely peaceful stay and would certainly recommend.

Perfect getaway

We already had high expectations of this place due to location and images, but we have to say, it was far greater than our expectations. A very very well equipped house with all things you need and more too, exceptionally clean and was prepared very nicely for us when we got there. Really enjoyed lazy mornings, brunches, and coming back to have dinner together after our long hikes and adventures. You won't be disappointed booking this one. Couldn't be happier and will definitely be coming back again one day (:

Just what we needed!

Such a great location. The Old School House is very clean and well equipped and Fiona was very informative and helpful at all times. The view of the loch from the front room is stunning and this spacious room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated as is the rest of the property. We did so much during our week - wish we could have stayed longer!

We live and work in Edinburgh but have always loved the Scottish Highlands. We spent so many weekends and holidays exploring the west we decided to make a permanent base there. The house had been empty for years when we bought it and it has been a labour of love(and despair sometimes) to renovate it. As we have children at school we cannot use the house as much as we used to. It now makes sense to let other people use it and discover what a fantastic area it is.

We chose this house for its location and stunning views.
We have holidayed in most parts of Scotland but nowhere else can beat the variety of scenery and activities we have on our doorstep.
The Munros in Glencoe, the views at Port Appin, fresh seafood on the pier at Oban,cycling off road from almost the end of the garden,walking to the local hotel for a beer on the sun deck or pier,ferry trips,castles,history,fabulous beaches a bit further afield....We really do have it all. When the sun shines there is no better place to be.

We want everyone to love the house and area as much as we do so we have left lots of information,maps,books,guides etc to make sure you have a good holiday.
