En traditionell stenhus Cumbrian Bank Barn omvandlas till högsta standard och finish. Sann lyx för en romantisk weekend eller avkopplande familjesemester. En mÀngd intressanta promenader frÄn dörren och en traditionell pub fem minuter bort, i centrum av byn. Safe, slutna lekplats 100 m promenad, dÀr byns getter kan matas. En riktig bort frÄn allt stugan med alla faciliteter du behöver för perfekt paus, bluetooth högtalare för din musik, gratis 20MB bredband, slipper bad, dubbla power shower, golvvÀrme i alla badrum.
Varje sovrum har sin egen dusch / badrum, ek Àr virket val och de exponerade ekgolv förbÀttra modern inredning. Besökarna Äterkommer gÄng pÄ gÄng, en del anvÀnder det som sin "sÀrskild plats" för en smekmÄnad. Idealiskt belÀget för att besöka alla nord naturliga underverk, The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, norra Penninerna liksom den romerska muren, Durham Cathedral, Bowes Museum, York Minster.

Rural location but easy to find, secure car parking and plenty of space. Lovely clean rooms and bathrooms finished beautifully with great showers. Downstairs bedroom/shower room was perfect for elderly father who came with us.Only minor feedback which would have given 5* - similar priced rentals in other places provided a hamper on arrival and there were no terrestrial TV channels, the duvets were a little thin. It was very cold when we arrived but warmed up nicely with all the heaters on.

New Year break in a beautiful cottage

Steve was a fabulous host and really went out of his way to make our stay a memorable one.We arrived to the beautiful Orchard View Cottage in horrendous weather and we’re super happy to see how gorgeous Orchard View was. The cotrage has been beautifully finished and all home comforts have been catered for.We managed to get out to the local pub on NYE and had an amazing meal and a great start to 2025.

Lake District and Yorkshire visit

There is absolutely no way that our trip could have been improved. Stephen and Becky were superb hosts, with Stephen providing invaluable insight to the regions we wanted to visit. Their property is exactly as described, extremely tranquil, and the village is like stepping into a "quiet zone" from centuries ago. EVERYONE we spoke to in the little village were extremly friendly and our "kids" (50+) have already discussed a return visit. Highly recommend. property

97th Birthday

Treated Mum for her 97th birthday.Had a wonderful time Mum loved watching the chickens in the garden and really excited to see a hare.Had some excellent meals close by and even spotted red squirrels.An excellent weekend highly recommended.

Beautiful house, beautiful countryside

The property was exactly as shown in the photos. Everything was clean with comfy beds, luxury bathrooms and spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen. The views were very pretty - rural, rolling hills and plenty of sheep. Outside the property there was plenty of seating for enjoying a glass of wine. The village was in easy walking distance but note that the pub is not open Mondays or Tuesdays. The owners were friendly and helpful. My only reservation (and this in no way spoilt our stay) was the sofa which was not built for comfort. Love to return and explore the area further

Orchard View is a lovely converted barn about 10 minutes walk from Great Asby. Good place as a base for visiting the surrounding area.

Perfectly bucolic and charming

Classically beautiful rural England on the outside, modern, cozy and well appointed on the inside. Stephen is a font of local knowledge and Finn the border collie is a wonderful host! Stephen went out of his way to make us comfortable and it is in a quiet very rural area, but centrally located for access to the Lakes Region, Yorkshire Dales and all that Cumbria has to offer. Just make sure to get driving directions from Stephen, as there is spotty cell coverage there and even the car GPS brought us to the middle of a cow pasture. Once you’re there, the wifi is excellent (which was ever so important to the surly teenagers we had with us). The place is even nicer than the pictures!

Amazing despite the rain

Fantastic is all that is needed. The property is wonderful and Stephen is more than welcoming. Inside, everything is clean and it has a lovely cozy feeling, which is strange since actually the property is quite spacious. Surrounding the property is lovely green fields, so, if you get some bad weather then you can just relax. Also, for children, there is many animals around to look at and in the surrounding areas there are lots of activities for all types of weather. Returning for a holiday to the UK, I was looking forward to a pint at the local pub, but the hours are quite irregular. This means that there is not much within walking distance for food or drink. However, there is a town around 5 miles away which will cater to most peoples' needs. Overall, it was a lovely experience, especially for my children who were seeing farm animals for the first time.

Beautiful contemporary cosy cottage

We chose Turnip House for my husband and I and our 2 year old daughter. The photos online don't do the cottage or the surrounding area justice. The cottage is beautifully refurbished, modern but with all the cosy charm. The area is wonderfully tranquil and far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to jump in the car and get to the local towns. Our daughter loved the chickens in the garden and sheep next door and the huge bath in the bedroom. Steve was wonderful when we arrived and spent time with us to let us know what was close by and walks that would be suitable for us and our Daughter. Thanks to Steve and Debbie for a wonderful holiday.
