The chalet was super cute and comfy. The walk to the beach took less than 2 minutes and the scenery was beautiful! Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied. They only downfall was as Americans we didn’t understand the electric switches and the immersion heater which the host was quick in replying on how to work it! We had a great time and highly recommend this place!

Small but perfectly formed gem right on the beach. The whole family loved it here, including the dog. It was clean, bright but cosy in the evenings. I just wish we had been able to stay longer, genuinely sad to be going home. We will definitely be back

Lovely chalet with a great wee kitchen that is so well equipped. Beds are very comfortable, lounge area is great for relaxing with a spectacular view out over the bay.Lovely garden which is a great sun trap & also quite private. We’ve had a super week at Bayview & have booked to come back next year

What a view!

Loved our weekend stay in this chalet. It was spotlessly clean, and had everything we could have wanted. Alice was fab at keeping us informed of check in details and providing all the information we asked for quickly and with great detail. We didn’t take our dog this time, but sure she would have loved it too! Thank you!

Beautiful cozy beach cottage

We loved our stay at the beach chalet! It was so close to the beach, parking was easy, Owner was very responsive anytime we had a question, the place had everything you could want in a beach getaway. Highly recommend, if we ever come back to Scotland, this would be the first place I’d try to stay again! Perfect!

A Perfect Hidden Gem

We absolutely loved our time at Beach Chalet in Dunbar. It was pure perfection from start to finish. The beach felt like our own little slice of heaven—peaceful, pristine, and beautifully tucked away from the busier tourist spots.Whether we were walking along the shore, enjoying the sea breeze, or just soaking in the view, everything about this place invited us to slow down and savor the moment. It’s one of those rare spots that makes you feel completely at ease—and completely spoiled.Thank you, Dunbar, for sharing this gem. We’ll be back the next time we’re in Scotland.

Beach location

We three over 65 year olds wanted a quiet New Year celebration near the seaside. The chalet was perfect for us. Beautiful views over Belhaven Bay, ideal location for dog walking and very handy for Dunbar town. The chalet was well equipped, beds were comfortable and warm and cosy.

Disappointing

Location is superb but this chalet has run down, especially the cheap interior. I appreciate the chalet is pet friendly and the interior doesn’t have to be designer material but this chalet needs a serious upgrade. Sorry, wouldn’t recommend it.

A Wee Gem

Great property in a fabulous location. The property is very comfortable and has everything that you might need and more for a complete holiday. Alice gave us loads of information beforehand about the property and the surrounding area. Situated on the John Muir coastal path which was ideal for walking the pooch and great for people watching the surfers from the surf school next door. A superb beach on your doorstep and plenty of other sandy beaches and walks nearby. Dunbar is within 30 mins walk along the coastal path with spectacular views and loads of wildlife to be seen. Do yourself a favour and give it a try.

Great location on the beach

The chalet is in a great spot opposite the beach. There is a lovely pub (Brig and Barrell) less than 10 mins walk away, and its only a 5 min drive into Dunbar itself. Its in a good location for seeing the area. To get to Edinburgh, one of the locals recommended driving to Wallyford (where there are lots of EV chargers) and then its a very quick hop on the train. This worked really well for us as it gave us more choice of train times and also made it cheaper. if you are looking for activities, i highly recommend Foxlake Activity centre, which is less than 2 miles away. The chalet is really well equipped, with towels, toilet rolls, cleaning products etc as well as all the things youll need for the beach (windbreak, bucket and spade). We didnt quite get the weather or waves we were hoping for but all in all a nice break away

Clean, cosy and homely

The chalet was as described and was clean, cosy and felt homely, beautiful views over the bay and a few minutes walk from the beach. Beds were comfortable and I slept the best I have in months, that could be due to the long walks with the dogs. I would definitely recommend this chalet for a peaceful stay, and will certainly return.

I co own the property with my partner. We live in Edinburgh a 30 minute drive away, so we are available to assist if there is an emergency.
We are both retired

Varför värden valde detta boende

The property has been in the family for 16 years. My partner inherited it in 2013.
We are a 30 minute drive away but as soon as we reach Belhaven we are in another world where we can unwind.
We love the view standing at our window of The "Big Sky" and the sea, which changes as the tide comes in and out.
We are never bored as there are so many places to visit in the area.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We love walking on the beach outside our door, walking the east lothian sections of the John Muir Way, visiting quaint villages inland, and the lovely seaside towns of North Berwick, Gullane and Dunbar, finding new coffee shops on our travels and keeping a list, which we are happy to share with our guests.
When we are feeling energetic, we walk up Berwick Law or Trapain Law where we have a lovely view of the coast.
My partner has recently discovered micro-lighting near the Museum of Flight at East Fortune and has enjoyed seeing the coast from the air.
