Cortijo Romero Àr en kÀrleksfullt restaurerad, fullt möblerad, sjÀlvhushÄll bondgÄrd, med exklusiv anvÀndning av en liten privat pool, i hjÀrtat av den fantastiska orörda landsbygden i det lantliga Andalusien i södra Spanien.
BelÀget i utkanten av den lilla byn Venta Micena, nÀra Orce i provinsen Granada och med lÄngtgÄende utsikt över bergen, ligger huset pÄ ett vackert lÀge. Inne i taket Àr höga och rummen Àr luftiga och rymliga. PÄ grund av de tjocka stenmurarna förblir huset behagligt svalt pÄ sommaren utan behov av luftkonditionering.
Det finns tre sovrum, ett stort vardagsrum med vedspis, en bra stor matsal, ett karaktÀrskök som innehÄller en annan vedspis och ett rymligt badrum.
Utanför Àr inneslutna trÀdgÄrdar med trÀd, blommor och en mÀngd olika örter, inom lÀtt plockavstÄnd frÄn köket! Det finns ocksÄ nÄgra stora terrasser med mÄnga blommor i krukor, en tÀckt matplats med bord och sex stolar, en inbyggd grill och den helt privata poolen.
Ett rustikt bord framför huset Àr ett bra stÀlle att titta pÄ det skiftande ljuset pÄ bergen och observera vilda djur. Till sidan Àr ett trÀdfylt fÀlt, perfekt för picknick. Fastigheten har ocksÄ fördelen med gratis wifi.
Huset ligger i ett mycket lugnt lÀge med bara ljudet frÄn fÄgelsÄng och enstaka avlÀgsna klockor pÄ getterna. Det finns en sommarbar pÄ gÄngavstÄnd, vanligtvis öppen frÄn juli till september, vilket Àr en utmÀrkt plats för en kall öl eller ett glas vin och en chans att blanda sig med de vÀnliga lokalbefolkningen.
Tio kilometer bort, i Orce, finns butiker, restauranger och barer, dÀr gratis tapas serveras med varje drink. Orce har en marknad varje vecka, ett slott och ett förhistoriskt museum. Strax utanför staden Orce ligger en stor vÄrmatad sötvattenspool dÀr du kan simma med fisk. Entrén Àr gratis och det finns poolbarer.
Det finns fantastiska promenader frÄn huset till de omgivande kullarna och möjligheterna till mountainbike Àr praktiskt taget oÀndliga.
Cortijo Romero finns tillgÀnglig Äret runt och Àr en fantastisk plats att fira jul och nyÄr med utsikt över de snöklÀdda bergen.

Simplemente perfecto.

Cortijo típico de la zona, con mucho espacio, todas las comodidades modernas, y equipamiento completo de sobra. Muchos y muy cuidados detalles, incluidos el vino, agua y pan recién hecho con lo que te dan la bienvenida los anfitriones, que lo tienen todo muy cuidado y confortable. Vamos, para repetir y recomendar sin ninguna duda.

un lugar con encanto para poder relajarte todo lo que quiera

la pena que hacía mucho frío para utilizar la piscina jajajjaa... un buen lugar para poder perderte, la recomendación es calefacción en las habitaciones si no tendría el maximo de puntuación por mi parte, por el resto me encantó y mås el recibirnos con pan recién hecho y la botella de vino, sigan así.

Very neat, clean and tidy

Our stay was very pleasant and relaxing. Our hosts David and Simon made us very welcome and went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The accommodation is spotless. I would recommend this holiday accommodation if you are looking for relaxation with beautiful surroundings and views of the mountains. We will of course be returning. Trevor and Irene Jones.

Excellent family vacation

Great place. Simon and David are amazing hosts they welcomed us with homemade bread and a bottle of wine. Every day in the morning they've cleaned the pool between 8 and 9. They are always up for a friendly chat but othervise you don't really see them. Great place, really quite location ideal for those who are planning on a relaxing vacation. There are many things to see in 30 mile radius. The house is really easy to find mind you Venta Micena is really just few houses. The pool is good size the outside area includes two BBQs 1 big 1 small and two big sized tables as well. We could choose a good selection of board/card games for the evening entertainment and there are plenty of books, dvds and tv channels avaliable. We could also use the free WiFi . Overall is a brilliant place for family holidays if you like the laid back spanish lifestyle and the breath taking scenery this place is for you.

A special place to kick back and slow down

Cortijo Romero has a unique charm. The journey there was an adventure through Spanish terrain we had not previously encountered. Arriving at the house we found a perfect oasis. The space in the house and outside allowed for enjoyment of sunshine and welcome shade when needed; the private pool a lovely bit of luxury. We enjoyed exploring Orce- a very small but pleasant place to have a drink and watch the world go by- or wait for the shops to open - opening times not being very specific! Juanjo grocers provides a little treasure trove of food. The natural swimming pool just outside Orce was a hit with the kids. Castril was also a great place to visit to walk along the waterfall and cool off in the open air swimming pool. The house was a perfect place to enjoy a hot August week in absolute peace; the evenings are so quiet- only the sound of goats being herded in the distance. We loved it- if you like the photos you'll love the reality. The hosts are welcoming, discretely available to help if required but left us in peace to enjoy the house.

Paz y tranquilidad

Es una casa que estĂĄ limpia y es bastante grande. A mejorar: poner cafetera, limpiar un poco el jardĂ­n trasero donde estĂĄn las salvias, eso afea bastante la casa y mejorarĂ­a mucho con un poco de cuidado; y por Ășltimo, control de avisperos. HabĂ­a momentos que era imposible disfrutar de la piscina. Por otro lado, los dueños son muy agradables, es todo un detalle que te recepcionen con pan reciĂ©n hecho y con un vino muy rico. Muchas gracias por todo.

A delightful house in a beautiful rural setting

The photographs on the website convinced us to choose Cortijo Romero for our two-week holiday but when we arrived it was clear that even the photos don’t do the property justice - everything seems much more spacious when we were there. The house has been beautifully restored and comfortably furnished and was immaculately clean throughout. We were amazed at the extent of the private courtyard which offers a beautiful garden, covered dining area, patio, swimming pool and sunbathing area; we spent many happy hours there enjoying the tranquillity of the property’s location. There are no restaurants in Venta Micena (there is a bar but this was closed during our stay) but this was not a problem for us as we prefer to cook our own meals. The kitchen is well equipped with pans and utensils, and the four-ring hob/oven meant that our culinary creativity was unconstrained! There is also a good-sized barbeque in the garden if that’s your catering preference. The market visits different towns in the area each day of the week which was ideal for buying all of our fruit and veg, supplemented by fruit and almonds from David and Simon’s garden and fresh herbs from the cortijo’s own private courtyard garden. There are two small supermarkets in Orce (10km) but we preferred to go to a larger supermarket in Huescar (25km) which offered a wider selection of goods and was on the way to a number of the great locations we chose for our days out. There are so many places to visit and so much beautiful and varied scenery to enjoy within 40km of Cortijo Romero but we would thoroughly recommend: 1) visiting Castril and doing the loop walk which starts and ends at the gorge; and 2) driving the tiny road north from Huescar to Las Santas and then taking the Los Collados road around La Sagra mountain and back to Huescar. In summary this is a superb cortijo set in a peaceful location, surrounded by fields and mountains; we couldn’t get enough of the view from the front of the house towards the Sierra de Maria Mountains. Thanks to David and Simon for their hospitality which helped to make this such an enjoyable and memorable holiday for us.

Peace and stars!

We loved our stay! Beautiful house in stunning, peaceful surroundings. Everything was thought of and there were so many lovely touches in the house, it made us all feel so welcome and relaxed. Clean, comfortable beds, well equipped and hosts who were not at all invasive but always there if We needed anything! Perfect! So glad we found it and we will always remember those stars!

A wonderful house in a great location

We were made to feel very welcome at Cortijo Romero and soon felt very much at home. Our hosts were helpful and friendly, never intrusive, and helped to make our stay a real pleasure. We enjoyed their thoughtful welcome gifts ... a loaf of bread, a large chocolate cake, a pot of jam and a jar of chutney (all home made), and a bottle of wine....but more importantly we enjoyed meeting them, and their tips about where to go and what to see were invaluable. We stayed for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to see something of a very particular part of Spain. The countryside is stunning with lots of opportunities to go for leisurely, or more strenuous, walks. The local towns and villages are well worth a visit too. The Cortijo itself is full of character and beautifully restored. In the heat of early summer the house remained wonderfully cool and, of course, we had the garden and pool to enjoy. We found the property to be spotlessly clean, and very well equipped for a comfortable and relaxing stay.Everything we needed was supplied, We will certainly recommend Cortijo Romero to our friends. If you want a comfortable stay in 'real Spain' this is the place to choose!
