Charmig stuga med utsikt över torget i Chittlehampton Village

Prospect Cottage är en stuga med två sovrum i den vackra byn Chittlehampton belägen några mil söder om Barnstaple, nära räckvidden till North Devon kusten och Exmoor. Stugan är flera hundra år gammal och har nyligen renoverats och erbjuder utmärkt boende för upp till fyra personer. Beläget på torget i hjärtat av byn, bredvid den stora församlingskyrkan och den lokala skolan och 50 steg från det prisbelönta Bell Inn som har ett rykte för god mat och kvalitetsöl. Det finns en allmän butik i närheten.

Perfect in every way!

Comfortable cottage in picturesque village with handy pub and village shop a few steps away.Cottage is thoughtfully furnished with comfortable beds and sofas, and thoughtful touches such as tissues, ornaments etc.Very practical place to stay for visiting all areas of Devon without the price of a seaside property.

Comfortable and Cosy

Lovely decor and furnishings. Great to have the ensuite and a main bathroom with a bath. Plenty of space in the main bedroom. Walking out of the front door and seeing the magnificent Church was amazing.

Just what we were looking for

Lovely cottage in a nice village with a great pub that serves really good beers and the food is highly recommended. we were looking for a peaceful break with some good walks, you will need a car if you wish to get around but the cottage and the location ticked all the boxes for us.

Superb stay

A lovely cottage with everything you could need in it. Very cosy in the evenings and beds were very comfy. Communication was brilliant as were the welcome back and the overall location. A lovely, relaxing holiday.

Perfect Cottage in rural Devon

A great place for a holiday on the edge of Exmoor. Perfect for a couple or small family. The pub across the square is great too! Also, it made a great base for cycling- I rode almost 100 miles on beautiful roads in the area during our stay!

Very good stay. Only issue I had was where to dry clothes after washing/raincoats etc, but didn’t spoil our enjoyment.

The perfect cottage, between a church and the pub, in a beautiful village. A fully equipped, comfortable, quiet, relaxing break away from normal hectic life. Easy access to the coast and moorland with Gardens and National Trust properties not too far away.

North Devon Short Stay

Lovely setting in the square. Quiet environment with ample parking. We had a number of local activities in the square that livened up the evenings despite the dreary weather. Overall the stay was very comfortable in a well appointed unit.

wonderful cottage & location

A wonderful cottage located in the center of a beautiful village. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we required, the welcome pack was much appreciated too. 50yds from the village pub which is highly recommended but be advised to book in advance for a table especially at weekends. Central to all the tourist spots and all within each reach, the scenery in this part of the country is breathtaking. would highly recommend staying at prospect cottage.

One of the best

This cottage was one of our favourite VRBO rentals. Chittlehampton is a lovely small town; the cottage is right on the main square between the church and the pub; and the house is charming, clean, comfortable, and has everything we needed for a week’s stay. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a base for exploring the SW of England.

Great part of Devon

This cottage didn't disappoint, it had everything that I needed except good weather. I loved the open plan layout which was ideal for the Bose radio. Lovely quiet village with plenty of good walks nearby. The "starter" food was appreciated as there is no local supermarket.

Great in every way!

Really nice cottage, homely feel. Extremely well equipped. Welcome breakfast tray on arrival. Lovely location in the village square, with church, pub and village shop a few steps away. Great location and lots of great places to visit close by including the coastal towns of Ilfracombe and Lynton and Lynmouth, and fabulous beaches of Croyde and Saunton. Highly recommended.

Good location and facilities

Good central location for most places and cottage well equipped although on a personal level I found it to lack good kitchen knives and although a washing machine is provided there is no dryer so if you were only staying a couple of days you would struggle to dry the clothes before leaving. Lovely square and the church is worth going inside. Would recommend

Four night break

The property was ideally located close to local amenities. However you will need a car to get around if you would like to explore further out. The property has everything you would need for a short or longer stay. It is clean and tidy. We had breakfast one morning in the little shops tearoom. An evening meal and drink in the local pub. We would definitely stay here again if it was available at our chosen time. I had a question for the owners before we arrived and they replied quickly.

couldn't have asked for more

What a lovely cottage. Warm, comfortable and cosy and just right for our short break to Devon. It is so well equipped decorated and furnished that we wanted for nothing. The village is charming with its pub and community shop and a short drive took us to many attractions including the coastal town of Instow. We had such a relaxing time, and were even lucky with the weather, given it was a November break . Our thanks go to the owners who clearly want their guests to have a comfortable stay. We loved it.

Chittlehampton

Last evening it was wonderful hearing the church bells ringing — apparently the Bell Ringers practise every Tuesday evening. This is a great centre to investigate the surrounding area — lots of practice in driving on narrow country lanes! The house is well set out with comfortable furniture and ample supply of dishes and cutlery. We would recommend it highly.

A week of country life

The property fulfilled all our needs. It was comfy and quiet. Unfortunately on the last night our car, with French registration, was scraped all along the side. Clearly, parking in a public square makes one more vulnerable to such incidents. In every other way the cottage was beautifully positioned close to the church, and not far from the pub and village shop. Although we had cold, grey weather, we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Happy Days

From the moment we arrived we knew we had found a special place. Beautifully decorated comfy and I say again ‘comfy’ chairs and sofas (so often they are not!) a great open space well appointed kitchen lots of extras.. some arrival supplies which were amazing .. thank you just right . Bedrooms first class beds to die for!! bathrooms.. what a treat to have two! Everything was truly lovely thank you for your thoughtfulness 🌸

Cosy cottage

Nice cosy cottage, clean and tidy, only gripe was there was no dryer to dry washing. Other than that very good.you need a car as it is quite a way from the town in a rural location.we loved it and the bread cake and milk were very welcome thankyou.

Our cottage is in the heart of Chittlehampton which is a lovely Devon village of about 800 people. It has a thriving village life centred around the local pub and also easy access to Exmoor and the North Devon coast which met our needs for a home from home.
