Worst experience ever!

On our 1st day, the broker or the owner’s representative showed disrespect to the family members while giving instructions on how to use the facilities allowed. Not only did he insult the family helper but also my mother in law! The broker informed us that we will have to pay for the electricity bill although it’s not even mentioned in the policy. We contacted him through phone before booking, and he confirmed it’s included in the whole amount. Trying to discuss the proper way he deals with people, coming this long way to enjoy their stay, he cancelled our reservation and sent us a threatening whatsapp message when we complained on the website. The message is available upon request from anyone who wants to book with him. Complaining on Vrbo didn’t succeed as no one was able to help in either refunding the payment so we can book another villa after being threatened to be kicked out, or trying to find any other solution for our miserable situation! Fortunately, we were able to contact the owner directly, and she stated that she knows nothing about what was happening behind the scenes promising that the broker won’t contact us during our stay. On our final day, we called the broker to come to take the keys and check for any damage as he threatened that he would accuse us of causing damages even if we didn’t. Surprisingly, he didn’t even check any of the electronic machines whether we ruined any or not, he rather went upstairs and came down holding a bed sheet and a pillow cover that were stained with make up and started yelling that if the stains were not removed, we would definitely pay for them. We went on trying to calm him down by telling him that it’s normal and we are used to this at our home. We also explained that they will disappear when washed, which is the norm but as he is not the type of person who can listen to anyone but himself, he started yelling more and more making the kids frightened for the second time as the same on our arrival. By the way, his name is “Islam” so if you want to book don’t ever try to deal with him in order not to ruin your vacation and scare your kids. My advice is that you book through the owner directly as the villa is really worthy and clean.

Excellent Villa & Professional management

It was a pleasure stay at this villa, check-in was very fast, accurate and friendly by the property manager (Islam). Villa was very clean and facilities are ready. kids jumped into pool within 15 mins of our arrival. The team sanitized the villa before we go, and while check-in to ensure everything is perfect. Team response was fantastic to resolve any rising issues. I will really visit Gouna again with same team and property. Thanks

Not as it seems

Very disappointing. I went in January, so my only question I asked before booking was if the pool was heated, which i was assured it was. I stayed for 5 nights, and never went in the pool even once as it was freezing. I called the property manager daily and he said it takes a day to heat up , but it went up 1 degree in 5 days ( freezing ). I explained to him that I could have just rented any room in any hotel much cheaper . Only reason i rented the villa , was the pool for me and the family. This villa basically ruined my holiday experience as it was only way the family/friends can swim in January . I definitely would not recommend and would not go back.

Compared to the cost i expected better

The stay was ok. But had a couple of issues with the property and the property manager. Had a horrible welcome to the house from him. The kitchen was horrifying with the plates in cupboard stack with water remaining from when it was washed and All utensils in the kitchen were not washed properly. The pool also was not that great water circulation devices were not strong and the pool ceramics has green from not being scrubbed properly, didn't enjoy the pool at all. The air conditioner in the small room upstairs had a very bad smell to the extend that we didn't use the room. All the other rooms were good and the living area and trace was good.

Family holiday

We had a lovely hoilday in this villa the pool was amazing the sunsets were amazing the pool was heated on arrival the host was lovely we used the bbq in the gardan that was very nice there’s also a free phone inside the villa to call tuk tuks awesome mode of transportation we used them a lot to go to the shops and when we went for food every thing you need is only 5 minuets away by tuk tuk only down side is it could of been cleaned better and it needs a bit of tlc where maintenance is concerned it’s looking a bit older then the pictures show maybe worth giving it a new touch of paint and some love but as a whole I would recommend this villa the beds were comfortable and it’s so quiet and peaceful thank you for having us.

Great house, neat and clean

The house was exactly as advertised. It is a cosy and neat house, quite spacious rooms with good furniture. The owner was extremely helpful throughout the stay when we needed a handyman to fix something. We would definitely stay there again and again, and recommend that you do too.

Lovely villa for a relaxing holiday

A really lovely place to stay and allowed us to relax and unwind that is well located. Downsides are the villas pool area was plagued with flies periods of the days which was annoying. Also the villa is a three bedroom really, not the five advertised. The 4th room at the top has limited usage. It doesn’t have access to a bathroom so could only be used for young children that rarely shower. The fifth is purely for a driver and I’m told is very small, meaning it’s only useful for someone that you don’t care much for as it doesn’t have aircon( maybe your mother-in-law..) Swimming pool was a disappointment, it is shallow for 3/4 of it so no diving was allowed. This is excellent for families with young children but for anybody over 3ft tall it’s not great as you have to swim in circles to exercise. Any issues were dealt with very promptly. Thank you for a great stay

Super séjour !

La villa est très belle et dans un coins calme et paradisiaque. On a passé un très bon séjour dans un endroit magnifique et apaisant, sans vis à vis, c’est ce qu’il nous fallait. L’endroit est bien sécurisé dès l’entrée des résidences, graces à des gardes qui sont là la journée comme la nuit. Le point fort est la wifi qui marche parfaitement dans toutes la villa. Malheureusement il n’y a pas de douche pour se doucher après une bien baignade dans la piscine ce qui est regrettable. Néanmoins je recommande vivement cette très belle villa bien équipée et un personnel accueillant.

Beautiful villa, stunning setting and excellent amenities.

My wife and I wanted to try a villa holiday for the extra piece and quiet without sacrificing the accommodation standards and amenities we usually seek when staying at high end hotels. We choose this villa based on the description and photos, and upon arrival we were not disappointed. The villa is exactly as shown in the photos and took our breath away. All rooms are very well appointed with everything you need and it instantly felt like a home from home. The 3 main bedrooms are of a good size each with ensuite facilities, plenty of storage and 2 have direct access to a terrace overlooking the pool area. The bathroom in the master bedroom also includes a large bath. We found the bed to be very comfortable. The downstairs living area is open plan and comprises a very well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and all the appliances you need. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large dining room area, next to which is the main living room. In the living room there is a large flat screen tv with access to an extensive range of channels including current movie channels in languages to suit most. WiFi throughout the villa is available for a small extra charge and coverage throughout the villa and outdoor areas was excellent. The jewel in the crown is definitely the pool area and surrounding grounds. The pool is a good size with swallow and deep ends and your own personal pool bar incorporating a BBQ. There is a large patio area comprising 6 comfortable sun beds, sun shades, a shaded dining table and an outside sofa area. Just beyond the pool there is a private beach area overlooking the lagoon and mountains in the distance. The whole pool area received sun throughout the day with the sun setting over the mountains for some stunning views in the early evening. The villa is located in a very quiet part of El Gouna. The downtown and marina areas are a 5-10 minute Tuk Tuk or taxi ride away, both of which can be booked via the free local phone network and are very reasonably priced. The town itself is beautiful with everything you need including activities, shops, bars, and a wide selection of restaurants, most of which deliver direct to the villa if needed. Security throughout El Gouna is of a very high standard and all the people we met during our stay could not have been more welcoming. The villa is perfect for couples and families alike, and the booking process and communication with the owner Dr Laila was first class. We cannot wait to return!

Nice stay with pool

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the Villa and enjoyed our time. Dr. Laila is very responsive and helpful. However, the bedsheets and the towels were dirty when we arrived, but they were changed on our request.

A lovely villa in an excellent spot

We traveled to El Gouna as a family, with my parents, husband and 1 year old and had an excellent holiday. The booking process was simple and the owner was very helpful. The property manager was also very helpful and arranged a cleaning service daily for us. We also arranged a trip to Luxor through hem which was excellent. We were met at the airport but a private transfer which was organised by the property manager. When we got there, we were met and shown around. They had heated the pool for us in advance and everything was ready for our arrival. The villa was very clean and had everything we needed. There are some signs of wear and tear but overall, we were really happy with the space. The reasons I gave it 4 out of 5 are because we felt there wasn't really enough information in the house about the area, such as info on restaurants, tuktuks, things to do and so on. We also weren't aware that we had to pay cash for the electricity at the end. We also felt the bed were very hard and a bit squeeky, but that's personal preference. Overall, we had a fabulous time and will come back to El Gouna again. Thank you Dr Laila and Lauther.

grosszügige Villa, etwas abseits gelegen, dafür aber sehr ruhig

Wir hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Die Villa entsprach der Beschreibung, ist aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Soweit war alles vorhanden, lediglich über eine Kaffeemaschine hätten wir uns gefreut... Dank TukTuk Service war man recht schnell im Zentrum.

Schöne Villa - aber es muss etwas getan werden

Die Villa ist groß und geräumig. Auch die Ausstattung ist gut und wie beschrieben - allerdings ist alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen. In der Küche fehlt einiges (z.B. nur je 6 Teller und 3 unterschiedliche Tassen), die Töpfe und Pfannen sind nicht mehr ok. Die Sitzpolster haben auch schon einige Flecken. Die Duschen haben unschönen Stellen, hier und da Schrammen in den Wänden. Die Matratzen sind gut - nicht zu weich. Insgesamt alles ok, aber nicht Luxus. Lage: Im weissen Villenviertel. Etwa 15 min. mit dem Auto bis zum Zentrum. In Laufnähe keine Geschäfte. Security am Eingang ins Viertel. Übrigens: "Phase 5 - weiße Villa 18" ist die Adresse fürs TukTuk. Telefon kostenlos in El Gouna! Tuk Tuk bestellen funktioniert z.B. super - kommt nach etwa 10-15 min. WiFi funktioniert - aber nicht allzu schnell. Zudem kostet es pro Woche 20 Euro. Pool ist beheizt - aber die Heizung hat nicht viel Power. Sie schafft es nur sehr langsam den Pool zu heizen, nicht mehr als die Lufttemperatur. Zudem müssen die Stromkosten übernommen werden (eine Woche Strom + Wasser etwa 50 Euro). Die Hälfte des Pools ist etwa 70cm tief, dann geht es steil bergab auf 240cm Tiefe. Fazit: Alles ok - aber erfüllt nicht das Versprechen "Luxus-Villa". An vielen Stellen muss etwas getan werden.

Well appointed villa in a perfect location. Accessible for all amenities.

Stayed at villa for 12 nights March 2016. Weather perfect as usual , although a little breezy at times. Villa in excellent condition- well appointed with everything needed for a family holiday. Gardens and pool maintained on a daily basis and streets and communal areas are kept spotlessly clean. Transfers were arranged through Sara the villa manager and she was on hand to meet us and wave us off, and kept in touch throughout our stay. El Gouna is a perfect choice for guaranteed sunshine anytime throughout the year , and would certainly recommend this villa and the resort for couples and families alike.

Lovely Villa, perfect for a relaxing & fun family holiday

Recently returned from a lovely relaxing 2 week stay in this gorgeous villa. It's located in a very peaceful location just a short taxi/ tuk tuk ride away from Downtown & the marina. The villa itself is very well equipped and spacious and the outdoor area is fantastic. Kids spent most of their time in the pool which we'd arranged to have heated before we arrived. El Gouna itself was very quiet but we had some lovely meals out and received great service wherever we went. Can't recommend highly enough & we hope to return next year!

A home away from home

The villa is spacious, very clean and just as advertised. It's well equipped which makes you feel right at home. You are not left wanting or needing anything; they provide the pool towels, bath towels and linens. The kitchen is quite well equipped and the pool bar has a built-in barbecue. The furniture is well kept, clean and comfortable. Both the owner and property manager are lovely ladies, professional, very friendly and extremely helpful with any requests or questions relating to Gouna. Our group of 8 were very comfortable accommodated during our one-week stay and the kids enjoyed the pool, riding their bikes and playing by the lagoon. We will definitely keep this property on our favorite list.

Lovely Holiday in Egypt...

We stayed in Dr Laila's Villa in July and spent about 2 weeks there. When we arrived, it was very clean and we gained immediate access when we arrived at the Villa from the Airport. It is a lovely villa and our children probably spent more time in the family-friendly swimming pool than they did indoors! The Villa is a 5 minute taxi ride (this can be arranged for free from the villa) from the shops and restaurants of Downtown and the Marina. We were in regular contact with Sara (Property Manager) who was always very quick in responding to any of our correspondence. Despite what seems to be a general opinion, we felt very safe in and around El Gouna and even when we went further afield on a sightseeing tour to Luxor, we were well looked after. There were a lot of open door activities in the evenings in Downtown & Marina which were great fun for the kids.

Great villa

This villa is great everything is perfect , villa is spacious and very clean , the swimming pool is amazing and the view is great . Amazing Villa with fab owner

Myself and my family stayed in the villa for a week over Easter and it was fantastic. The owner was excellent and gave us all the information required during our stay. The location of the villa is brill not too far from the airport. We were meet at the airport by a taxi organised by the manager of the property in Egypt she is very helpful and lives locally so knows about anything you need. There is a supermarket close by which has a good range of foods and the marina and beach are good. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at in the town centre so there is a lot of variety there to choose from. I would compare el gouna to an upmarket self catering eurocamp type feel with amazingly beautiful villas instead of tents and caravans, freedom to just walk around the complex and amazing weather everyday. There is a lot of security surrounding el gouna so you feel very safe there at all times. There is also no hassling from vendors so shopping in the shops in El Gouna is nice. All round we had a truly fantastic time and would definately go back to el gouna and stay in this amazing villa again. Thank you Laila x

Beautiful

We were a party of five, four adults and a teenager. We found the villa to be just as advertised and very nice inside and out. The villa is a little out of the way of the main area but we didn't mind as we like peace and quiet, and it costs just 50p per person to ride in a Tuk Tuk or Tok Tok anywhere on the complex, we preferred the Tok Tok's as the drivers were more sedate. Everywhere people were so friendly and we felt very safe there. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and plenty of Tok Tok's to take us home. This really is an area of the world that more Brits need to discover - so cheap and friendly. Waterhouse/Douglas family

El Gouna one of the best Villas you can imagine.

We had a reallly nice stay at Lailas Villa, everything was as promised what is not very usual in Egypt also the host Sara was taking so good care of us and answering promptly to any question or request we had. The Villa is in quiet are bit far from Downtown and Marina where most of the services are located. We were 2 adults and 2 kids so we rented 2 quad bikes to move around, that was a really nice way to commute around El Gouna, these were also arranged by Sara. The Villa itself was fully equipped with all you need and bit more, very clean and professionally managed, everything from booking to departure went without any problems. I highly recommend this Villa if you really want to relax and just enjoy your holiday. K

Wow. My family and I have just returned for a 2 week stay in this beautiful villa and what a wonderful time we all had! This was our third trip to El Gouna but our first in a villa and first time booking independently away from the travel agents! We were very apprehensive to begin with - especially as we were travelling for the first time with our 1 year old twins and additionally with 4 other family members all new to Elgouna! Contacting Laila and booking the villa was simple - I was very anxious as there were only a few reviews however she was very reassuring and put me in touch with previous visitors that helped ease my worries! Laila and her house manager (Sara) were really accommodating. I needed an extra travel cot and extra highchair for my twins and everything was there as promised on our arrival. Sara had arranged for a local driver to meet and collect us at the airport which was a huge help. The villa is absolutely beautiful - everything you could need is there. Anything you can't find, Sara will help arrange and the internal phone system in el gouna means nothing is more than a quick call away (you can easily get water/beer/food delivered if needed). The villa is very spacious, 3 double bedrooms (all a great size) and the master room was spacious enough to accommodate 2 travel cots. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which is also a great benefit! We were worried that the children would slip on the hard marble floors or that we wouldn't be able to "baby proof" the area but infact it was very simple (sofa across the staircase) and the children wore soft swim shoes which meant no accidents and two very happy babies! We won't hesitate to visit this villa again and El Gouna remains our favourite holiday destination (our family has already arranged another trip!)
