Denna vackra charmiga 400 Är gamla ombyggda bondgÄrd ligger i en av de Àldsta byarna i Gozo, nÀra Victoriaens huvudstad (1km). Huset Àr perfekt belÀget pÄ kanten av byn men fortfarande nÀra kÀrnan i byn och utsikt över ett landskap av fÀlt förbi San Dimitri-kapellet, mot fyren och vidare till Medelhavet. PÄ en klar dag kan du se Sicilien pÄ avstÄnd ....
Fastigheten har varit i familjen i över 20 Är. Ursprungligen konverterat pÄ 70-talet av Dartington Glasss huvuddesigner har den nuvarande Àgaren varit mycket omhÀndertagen för att ÄterstÀlla huset genom Ären genom att behÄlla sin ursprungliga enkelhet och rustika charm samtidigt som man tillagde moderna bekvÀmligheter. Om du gillar nutiden, Àr det inte för dig, utan det ger en enkelhet som behÄller de gamla golvplattorna och flisstenarna och stenmurarna samtidigt som de erbjuder alla mods och nackdelar. Huset har en vacker pool designad av nuvarande Àgare och inspirerad av sina resor till Thailand. Den mogna trÀdgÄrden ger ett perfekt naturligt paraply med sina 7 mogna palmer som möjliggör ett avbrott frÄn solen och ett underbart underhÄllningsutrymme med ett stort gammalt kabelbord med plats för 12 gÀster och ett annat indiskt marmorbord med sittplatser 6 och en grill.
Av sÀkerhetsskÀl sluts poolomrÄdet av mycket smakfullt och praktiskt taget med ett trÀstak som löper lÀngs ena sidan av poolomrÄdet vilket gör det sÀkert för barn och en vÀlsignelse för förÀldrar som kan koppla av medan de Àter sin lunch i trÀdgÄrden och inte behöver titta upp varje minut för att kolla pÄ barnen.
Det finns en hushÄllerska, pool man och trÀdgÄrdsmÀstare som ser efter huset. HushÄllerskan kan ocksÄ ge extra stÀdning under din semester och det finns ocksÄ barnpassning om det behövs.

As the publisher of Malta's foremost restaurant guide - The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta & Gozo www.restaurantsmalta.com, my passion for food and all things culinary has inspired me to set up a wonderful entertaining space with a large cable dining table in the garden seating at least 10 people and a smaller marble table for more intimate meals as well as barbecue perfect for cooking fresh fish from the local fishmonger. The kitchen is a wonderful space to share and enjoy cooking together with many appliances and well equipped for any a food lover.
I am also the founder and organiser of Malta Artisan Markets www.maltaartisanmarkets.com and I feel passionate about assisting local artisans and entrepreneurs on the islands and for over 12 years have created the perfect platform for these entrepreneurs. Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
Casa Palma is a hidden gem in a perfect location on the edge of the village overlooking the fields and with seaviews whilst at the same time looking out to a small square and a 5 minute walk to the centre.
The house from the outside is Arab in design with a barely a facade apart from a front door and a traditional bamboo blind. On entrance the house slowly opens up to a courtyard with rooms overlooking it and then opening up to a large shaded garden with the mature trees and on to the large pool and area.
Since the house is on the edge of the village there are some lovely walks directly from the house. Including the walk down through the valley pass Ta'Pinu Basilika and down to the valley of Meilaq and the cliff edge with stunning views across the Mediterranean.
No where is far in Gozo and we often visit the local beaches including Fungus Rock which is a 10 minute drive from the house and Ramla (20 minutes), Hondoq (15 minutes) and Xlendi (15 minutes) away. We love to snorkel and the sea is always so clear.
Our house is perfectly positioned away from the core area of Gharb but easily accessible to the amenities and restaurants - just a 5 minute walk to local restaurants and a grocery shop.

The house has been converted to include modern amenities including aircon in each bedroom whilst retaining its 400 year old farmhouse character. The rooms downstairs would have been stables for the animals. The feeding troughs have been converted into seating. Unlike most farmhouses some of the walls have been white washed to create a cool fresh light feel to the space.
The house is a wonderful social space with many different areas to enjoy to be social or to find a private space. You never feel that you are on top of each other as the bedrooms overlook a courtyard and the garden has different areas to relax - to be social around the large dining table or to find a quiet corner.
The large mature garden is a magical space leading out from the kitchen and the sitting room. You can sit in the garden all day as there is always shade from the trees whilst the pool is a perfect place to cool off. The pool remains cool during the summer as it has a shallow end but also a deep end allowing it to keep its cooler temperature.
The house has been converted to include modern amenities including aircon in each bedroom whilst retaining its 400 year old farmhouse character.
