The property was clean, pontoon and canoe available, nice size lot, air conditioning. Very comfortable stay and the fishing on the lake was great!

Peaceful Getaway

We had a great time! The location is very peaceful and private. Loved the screened porch and deck. We loved fishing off the dock and on the pontoon. Beautiful, quiet lake.

Very pleased

Very quiet out of the way place. The use of the pontoon for all of the guest to fish the bluegill ridden lake was perfect. I would definitely consider going back.

Relaxing and fun

We had a great time! The home had everything it promised- it was clean, and well equipped with everything to make our stay relaxing and fun. The pontoon worked well and was a definite plus. We certainly recommend this place for those looking for a private, quiet vacation spot. The only suggestion is that the path to the lake is....somewhat rugged; not for those with any difficulty walking. We had 3 generations and all had great time!

Great place for a family vacation!

The place was awesome. My family enjoyed themselves, the pontoon was a great benefit and fun for all. Many hours spent using that trying to catch fish, which eluded us. The only downside was the smell in the basement. It was horrible, there were so many dead critters rotting away in the egress windows that are in the bedrooms. They should be cleaned out and perhaps the covers opened for a bit for the smell to dissipate. It was also great without the internet so that the family could just unplug from all the extra. We were busy all day.

We had a great time relaxing and unwinding and enjoying all the benefits being "up north" !

The cottage was clean and the perfect size for our two families of four. Thank heaven for the screened porch, which was the perfect spot for dining, games, or listening to the lake without worry of being eaten alive by the plethora of mosquitos! The kitchen was well equipped, the bathrooms clean and well functioning. All bedrooms were comfortable with extra blankets and pillows. If you want shade down by the pier, bring your own umbrella or portable canopy along with folding chairs. Pontoon boat was a great bonus! Bald eagles, loons and deer were easily spotted. We were unsuccessful fishermen, but had fun trying nonetheless. The only area of concern happened when the housekeeper arrived at 9:50 on our last day and told us we had the check out time wrong (it clearly states 11:00am on the website). When we asked about how to handle garbage, she told us that was our responsibility; there was no mention of this in the check out instructions nor did we have any idea where to take garbage as there were no written directions anywhere to be found. Lastly, there is no air conditioning at this cottage despite what the listing states (evenings were very cool and there were two fans). Regardless, we have a wonderful vacation and would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to experience true up north.

Inter generational family fun!

Favorite activity for all of us is swimming off the pier! Followed by touring this scenic lake on the pontoon while being serenaded by loons. And fishing for the world’s smallest bluegills for the 69 yr old, the 6 yr old, and the 2 yr old. The screened in porch overlooking the lake is great for family board games, watching storms, and listening to nature. This is our second visit to this property and we love the seclusion, and look forward to returning again.

Not Enough Beds

We rented this home based on the understanding there were 4 queen beds and a set of bunk beds, as that is how the unit was advertised. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were no bunk beds. To be clear, the ad says the home can sleep up to 10, which it can if you sleep 2 to a bed and use the futon and couch. In our case, we narrowed our search of potential properties based on the number of beds available. There were 6 of us traveling and we each needed a bed to ourselves. It would have been a perfect fit with the bunk beds. After informing the owner of the issue, he was apologetic and claims that he informed VRBO of the removal of the bunk beds last fall and that VRBO is at fault for not removing it from the ad. I don’t know who is at fault, and don’t really care, we were just disappointed that 2 of us would not have a bed to sleep in for the week. In the end, the owner did his best to make it right by refunding a portion of the rent…so credit is given to him for doing so. Had the bunk beds been there, the accommodations would have been great. The misrepresentation of beds is the only reason I’ve rated the overall experience as 2 stars. Based on previous reviews, we knew about the rough terrain getting down to the lake so we were expecting that. In reality, it’s not that bad of a walk down. On a positive note, we really enjoyed the screen porch. Spent a bunch of time out there and it was great. Our intent was to spend a lot of time on the water but unfortunately the pontoon boat motor died about a third of the way through our week so we missed out on that. Thankfully a friendly neighbor towed us back to the dock when we broke down…Kudos to the man named Ken for helping out. Par for the course though as all the people we ran into while we were up there were very friendly! Although we ran into a few issues during the week, we still had good times at the cabin. It’s always good to get away and spend time with your loved ones.

Stateline Lake

Stayed there with my spouse, and my daughters’s family which includes 4 young children. We all had a great time. The cabin was spacious and clean. Kids had a great time swimming and fishing in the lake. We’ll definitely return in the future.

Great stay

Our family had a great time. Had fun using the pontoon boat and the screened in porch was great, especially since there were a lot of mosquitos at the time we were there. Nice secluded location.

Getaway

We loved the peace and quiet this house brought us. It was perfect for our group (9) of all ages. When the mosquitos got thick, the screened in porch was a perfect spot to relax and hear the wild life. The views from the boat rides were excellent and a favorite activity for the kids. It was clean and felt very comfortable at once. We will cherish our memories here. Thank you for a great vacation!

Amazing Property!

We thought the cabin was great! We loved the screened in porch. The cabin had everything that you would need. There is a little grocery store about 5 min. Away that has some things, but Boulder Junction is about 20 min. Away with a larger local grocery. The lake was peaceful, beautiful, and serene. The property manager was responsive regarding providing needed info (where to launch our personal boat). The addition of the pontoon was nice as well. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to book again! I would definitely recommend booking!

Slice of Heaven!

This is a slice of heaven in the North Woods. The screened in porch was a great way to start and end our day listening to the loons out on the lake and just enjoying the piece and quiet of the great out doors. The pontoon boat and dock are a great way to enjoy the lake and makes catching fish a piece of cake. Thanks for another great stay Ed!

Beautiful location

State line Lake is beautiful and exactly my kind of lake. The house was as represented in the listing and great for our family of 6. This house is about 40 mins from a grocery store or even a pharmacy. Keep that in mind when you are thinking about booking. The house was a great size and we loved the screened in porch (except when the chipmunks would get into through holes in the screen). The outdoor deck was nice as well. The issues we had with this house were mostly outdoor issues. The stairs going down to the water are dangerous and there is no handrail. There is no place to sit down by the lake that isn’t slanted or moving (floating dock). There is also no shade to be had either on the boat or the land if you are down by the water. There is no sand for kids to play in either but the water next to the dock was shallow so my youngest played there. The boat was just ok. It was not in good condition and we had issues with the boat shifting from gear to gear. There is no canopy on the boat which makes for some hot boat rides. The lake gets deep fast so keep that in mind when you have kids swimming. We brought kayaks but rented a paddle board at Coontail, in Boulder Junction- it was well worth the cost to paddle board on Stateline lake! Overall we enjoyed our time at this house, we just wished it would have been more comfortable to be down by the water. We suffered from some seasickness from being on the floating dock and so our options were pretty limited on where to sit if the kids wanted to swim.

Beautiful Setting

Overall, our stay was nice. We had a couple of minor issues such as the screened in porch having holes all over the screens, the fridge had a broken bottom drawer, and the pontoon was a bit on the older side and would not start up and would leak gas or oil into the water when we tried starting it up. But the cabin had plenty of space, nice upkeep, very clean. The canoe provided was top notch. Plenty of towels for swimming and a range of sizes in life vests were provided. The grill is very nice. The fire pit is lovely. Plenty of loons on the lake. The kitchen has everything you would need. We would defnitely stay here again.
