- SAND DOLLAR COTTAGE -
Av de 26 charmiga duplexstugorna i den gateda Mokuleia Beach Colony, möter bara fem faktiskt havet; och det här är en av dem! Du kommer att vakna till ljudet av vågor, sitta på din öppna Lanai och se ingenting annat än akvamarinvatten och morgonhimlen. Havet ligger precis framför dig, bara några steg bort. Denna bungalow p�� stranden är designad på 1960-talet och har blivit inredd av en Hawaiian-born artist, vars målningar av Mokuleia havet, himlen och landskapet hänger på väggarna.
- STRANDEN -
Sand Dollar Cottage erbjuder en fantastisk utsikt över en strand som sträcker sig i miles i båda riktningarna; perfekt för simning, promenader och snorkling i korallrevet. Du ser sällan någon och har varmt vatten, dag och natt!
- GRANNSKAPET -
En tolv minuters bilresa ner en landsväg tar dig till den berömda surfingstaden Haleiwa; där du kan äta i en av de många restaurangerna och handla kläder, lokal konst, raka is och färsk fisk, biffar och producera. Kolonin har en vacker gäst-bara-pool och fem minuter på vägen mot Ka'ena Point, det finns kitesurfing och fallskärmshoppning.
- FRÅN ÄGARNA -
Hemmet har mer återvändande gäster än någon annan i vår inventering, men efter år med 5 stjärnor har den nyligen fått några kritiska recensioner. Ägarna har tagit dessa till hjärta och har tagit upp alla underhållsproblem i huset. Nedan är ett ord från ägarna:

Aloha till alla våra långa gäster. Ville du veta vi tillbringade ett par veckor i mars renovering och restaurering 13B. Det behövde det. Du hittar ett nytt kök: diskar, skåp, handfat, kran och en ny glasskamin. Vi målade även enheten, sätta in en ny, högre fåfänga, diskbänk och kran och ny utomhusbelysning. Vi återställde alla louvers och jalousies som behövde det och till och med lagt till ett mer kraftfullt modem för bättre WiFi. Vi lämnade havet och solnedgångar ensam eftersom ingen kunde förbättra det.

Rökning förbjuden vid Mokuleia Beach Colonies, både inomhus och utomhus. Staten Hawaii förbjuder rökning i offentliga parker och vid alla stränder. Det finns inga områden nära enheten för rökare. Dessa förbud innehåller e-cigaretter.

Perfect beach front cottage. Only thing I missed was an access to the beach for walking. The cottage was clean, everything in place. The T.V.was a bit challenging, but with help, we figured it out. All in all, it was the perfect North Shore exerience.

It was in a very cute community that was very quiet and nice. The inside of the place was very run down with all the cushions having stains. I wouldn’t exactly call it Beach access. There is sand along the walkway that leads to a stone wall that has access to the ocean. There is no beach right on the property sadly, it only lead to very strong waves crashing against the stone wall all day. There were also many bugs in the inside. There were many lizards inside and a cockroach that had fallen on my husbands face while he was sleeping.

Sand Dollar Cottage

The place was clean and had every appliance needed. However, the pool was closed for repairs during our stay, and the manager was out of town. We were not told there were pay washing machines that took quarters, no credit cards and no change machine. A lot of people don’t have change readily available. In addition we were asked to wash the towels, really? Not the fault of the colony, BUT… there was a cricket outside the bedroom window that went non stop until about 4:00 am. The cottage was abou 10 feet from the ocean so the sounds of the waves were definitely very welcome and relaxing.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A great location on the shore. People there very friendly. Close to everything on the Northshore. Being a bit older we did not sleep well at all, The beds and heat inside the unit kept us uncomfortable . Can use another fan or two. Furniture very uncomfortable too. I’m sure the younger set would do fine.Staying the middle of the summer just too hot.

This was our second stay here at this magical cottage. The oceanfront location is amazing, the grounds are immaculate, the pool is refreshing, the proximity to Haleiwa and Wahiawa is so convenient. The peace and quiet is so relaxing. A touch of old Hawaii. Simply enchanting.

Beautiful and perfect!

I’ve been coming to Hawai’i for 40 years (about 15 trips). This was my favorite stay. The property was outstanding, the community was lovely and the location was perfect. The cottage was even better and more roomy than in the photos and exceeded my already high expectations. It was terrific and I highly recommend it!

Wonderful spot

We stayed for a week in April 2025. Peaceful spot where you can relax to the sound of ocean waves. Cottage is in a wonderful small gated community near the end of the Farrington Hwy. Beautiful nearly empty beaches near by. We did an oceanfront trail ride on horses right next door. Great place if you are looking for something more low key than staying in Waikiki

Vacation get away

Beautiful location! Can't beat the view. Comfortable furnishings. Everything we needed was right there in the cottage. We loved being able to sit on the patio and just take in the sunrise and sunset and everything in between.

Aloha!

The location is excellent. So much to see and do within a very short drive in any direction. About the only minor flaw is there isn't a sandy beach right in front of the house. The water is rough but it can still be swimmable. Plenty of turtles to see as well The house itself is very well stocked with all the necessary items for making dinner, sleeping, showering, etc. We were able to settle into a very normal, home like routine. The windows can be opened, the fans used and it's a fantastic way to sleep listening to the waves literally right outside the home. Highly recommend!

Great property, not great area

The property and grounds are beautiful. Waterfront, short walk to beach access. However the outside the property area is not great. This is a lot of ranch area and seeing homeless and parked cars along the highway is the norm. Secondly, this seems to be some issues between the rental management company and the people who manage the property. We had an issue with check in card not being initialed in one spot which generated lies between the 2 companies which was taken out on us in a very unprofessional way. We also had issues with the entry gate which caused us to sit outside the gate waiting for a phone call back. Both times this happened it took so long that other tenants open the gate for us. Overall the property and setting is beautiful. Having access to a pool and the ocean is great. If the management companies can work out whatever differences they have, this would be a much, much better experience.

Best Hawaii trip yet!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: So nice! Our 7th trip to Hawaii, 4 Islands. This the best relaxing stay. We were up before sunrise every day and there for every sunset. It’s amazing that both are in plain view from the same place. Having an open patio was great. We read our Bibles each day outside, watching the sunrise and enjoying the waves. We saw 5 turtles our very first hour and even snorkeled with 3 during our stay. We snorkeled every morning as the tide was at its lowest, no wind in the morning. Even directly out front had good snorkeling, beautiful fish of all types. You had to find the pockets where they hung out. We stayed put most of the time with few excursions, that’s how much we likes the setting. I highly recommend stopping at Costco before you check in and buy your food. That way you can have oceanfront dining always.😊😊. The interior of the cottage is not the high end, but it’s the oceanfront we loved. Be aware of no air conditioning, fans helped. We have done nothing but tell our friends and family how much we enjoyed our stay.
