The location is perfect as a base from which to get around Door County. The cottage is cozy and inviting. I’m looking forward to next time already!

The location is wonderful, walking distance to the shops/restaurants/marina. The cabin is unassuming, basic and quaint, reminded me of an independent living condo from the 90s. I don’t need much when I travel, but a comfortable bed is a must, and this property missed the mark on that. It was definitely an old, thin mattress with very stiff coils. Had to go back to Sturgeon Bay and buy a mattress topper just to be able to sleep through the night (I have a bad back).Please consider upgrading the mattress or purchasing nice mattress topper to make this room more comfortable.I would also recommend having a small bag of coffee available to guests, or letting people know to bring their own.

Great location and nice facilities. Unfortunately mother nature kept us from being able to stay there for the three evenings we had anticipated. Host was very accommodating.

Chose Another Location

Mattress needs to be replaced, you will be sleeping on springs that are popping out. Coffee maker leaked. Door leading out to the deck leaked when it rained. Prepare for poor WiFi signal. Be careful entering the property as there are large broken rocks you have to walk across. Suggest you find another location to rent, it was not worth the high price charged.

Great location! Clean!

Perfect little cottage for our getaway to Door County. Very clean. Perfect location, 1/2 block to downtown Egg Harbor. No need to drive! Enjoyed peaceful walks around the harbor, to dinner, and ice cream!

Door county weekend

The cottage is exactly as described. Perfect for 2 people. Cleanest B & B we have ever stayed at! We will stay again if we get back to Door County.

Excellent Launching Pad

Fantastic home base to explore Door County for a weekend. Fairly bare bones but has everything you would need for a couple, and can’t beat the location. Walking distance to marina for sunset and all of egg harbor downtown, but still very quiet. Very clean, no musty smell as other reviewers have noted. Would stay again!

Disappointed

The cottage was very clean but we were disappointed in the small Whirlpool tub that would barely fit 1 person, and the grill which was similar to those found at county parks. In addition, there were no basic condiments which would be helpful when cooking our own meals.. Rate a 3

Sweet Bluejay

This home is perfect for two. Location is absolutely stellar, both in Egg Harbor & in Door County. Front porch/deck is a lovely "sit" with morning coffee or evening wine. I would definitely stay again.

Egg Harbor Cabin for two.

Lovely cabin, very close to harbor for walking to view the sunsets . Quiet location. Driveway is very tight, but we made it work.

Anniversary Stay

The size of the property was just right for 2 people and had everything we needed. Whether we used the house as just a 'home base', or if we took a day to just kick back and relax at the property for a day. We were thankful that the air conditioning worked so well on the first 2 days of our stay when there were higher than normal temperatures outside. The parking area was a bit narrow for our full sized truck. My husband had to let me out of the vehicle on the street before parking or I wouldn't have been able to exit the vehicle. Also, the spot is a bit steep. Making the spot a bit wider and level would be helpful. Especially for folks who may have some mobility issues. Thank you for a wonderful carefree stay!

Strong musty smell

Cottage was clean and great location to walk everywhere. The strong musty smell was causing coughing. We had to open windows and door. I would not stay here again.

Blue Jay-June 2024

This was a perfect little cottage in a great location. The large deck was a bonus, especially with our dog. We would definitely stay at the Blue Jay again. A couple towel bars in the bathroom would be helpful, but it wasn't a huge deal.

I was born and raised in Egg Harbor, Door County, Wisconsin. I attended grade school in Egg Harbor and Gibraltar H.S. in Fish Creek, and I am a UW - Madison graduate. Our family business has been the Alpine Resort and Golf Course in Egg Harbor. After 100 years of ownership, we have sold the business to a new owner. My family continues to rent our eight vacation houses in Egg Harbor seasonally. I have two sons and live in Sturgeon Bay. We have a golden retriever that is very active and playful and he loves to swim.

The Blue Jay house has been in our family from the beginning. It's close to all the great things Egg Harbor (and Door County) has to offer. It's only available for vacations in the spring, summer and fall. My family is very protective of this house and keep it very clean and well maintained.

This house is the perfect little vacation cottage. It's located in an area of private summer homes with lots of trees and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars, the Egg Harbor Marina, galleries, free summer concerts and groceries in Egg Harbor. It's 1/2 mile to the Egg Harbor beach. Located on Whitecliff Road, there's plenty of opportunity for walks with public access to the water every few hundred feet.
