Perfect Holiday Destination

I Folletti is perfect for 2 people. It has all the facilities we needed for a two week stay. The location is absolutely beautiful - very peaceful with lovely grounds. There was plenty to do and see within easy reach, but it was also a pleasure to spend lazy days without going anywhere. Ginevra is an excellent host, and I recommend the cooking lessons she offers.

Great location worth visiting but book carefully

Although not clear from the Vrbo details on line, this is one of four properties within a relatively small area, managed by a staff who are on site during the day. It felt mostly private although staff watering plants and sweeping up leaves were always around in the morning and tended to do their work (sometimes a bit noisily) at 7-8 am. Things we liked: Location was very good for travelling around. Accommodation was a small cottage but nicely appointed with a gorgeous outside patio area which is mostly private. One of the owners, Ginevra, runs the restaurant that opened on Friday and Saturday. She is genuinely a great host, very friendly and we recommend the dinner experience, due to Ginevra and the nice location. Ginevra also had prepared a very good guide left in the property with advice on places to visit and restaurants to go to and information on local wines. She also brought us vegetables and fruit from her farm. We liked the shared swimming pool which is very large. Things we didn't like: We were caught by surprise when we were checking in. Despite our careful selection of a property which offered WiFi, laundry and air conditioning, we were told on arrival that we needed to pay an additional 100 euros as the air conditioning had just been fitted. We said that the property details included air conditioning and therefore we did not feel additional charges were reasonable which was accepted. We later observed that the air conditioning system did not appear new. We were then told that laundry facilities didn't exist on the entire site and were told that we needed to go into town (next to the supermarket) in order to wash our clothes. This was apparently due to Coved restrictions but property details on Vrbo had not been updated. The WiFi was one of the worst we have experienced despite the property details saying that the WiFI would be excellent ("a very fast WiFi connection"). The WiFi was working for only a few hours over the whole of the seven days. Despite asking for it to be fixed, we were offered the use of the office which of course isn't suitable for family purposes. Trip planning, use of google maps and family contacts were very difficult. The response to our requests to fix the internet was rather poor and appeared to rely on sitting it out. There were some other minor annoyances such as the two sun beds being covered in cat hair for most of the week until we asked the cleaning staff to deal with it.

Beautiful, peaceful property

We had a wonderful time! WE were there for a week. The location is excellent, the apartment is perfectly appointed and private, and the entire experience was great. The owner and manager went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We had a wonderful and fun cooking class and were given excellent restaurant and tour recommendations. We would have loved to stay longer.

Tolle Aussicht

Wir haben eine sehr schöne Zeit in Eremo del Fate verbracht. Die Ausgangslage fĂŒr AusflĂŒge in die Umgebung ist ideal. Perugia, Assisi, Montefalco oder Orvieto sind mit dem Auto ĂŒber die Schnellstraße gut erreichbar. Das Appartement Folletti ist sehr ruhig gelegen, hat eine eigene sehr große Terrasse mit einem schattigen Sitzbereich, Sonnenschirm und Liegesesseln. In Eremo del Fate ist alles sehr weitlĂ€ufig, auf dem ganzen Areal befinden sich viele Sitzgelegenheiten und LiegestĂŒhle, eine Tischtennisplatte mit AusrĂŒstung sowie 2 Pools. Der obere der beiden Pools hat uns besonders gut gefallen, die Aussicht auf die umliegenden Olivenhaine und Ortschaften von Montefalco ĂŒber Terni bis nach Assisi ist einfach traumhaft.

Excellent facilities, our accommodation was very clean, comfortable and very well decorated and laid out. We would highly recommend and will stay here on our next visit to Umbria.

Ausgezeichnete Ferienwohnung

Eremo delle Fate ist eine wunderschöne Ferienanlage mit drei separaten Apartments, jede mit Zugang zu einer Terrasse oder Freisitz. Es gibt einen großen, parkĂ€hnlichen und sehr schönen Garten und zwei Swimmingpools. Man kann im Garten sitzen, grillen (es gibt ein Grillplatz), oder einfach zwischen den OlivenbĂ€umen spazieren gehen. Die Blumen und riesige Töpfe mit Zitruspflanzen sind auch sehr schön. Man merkt ĂŒberall die Liebe fĂŒr Details. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, mit einem wunderschönen Blick ĂŒber Olivenplantagen, sehr nah an Spoleto (1 km) und vielen SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten in Umbrien. Die Apartments sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sehr sauber und gerĂ€umig. Wir hatten das kleinere Apartment (Folletti), aber das war perfekt fĂŒr zwei Personen. Die Lesenische am Fenster war besonderes gemĂŒtlich, und es gab eine gute Auswahl an BĂŒchern (auf Englisch und Italienisch). Ginevra und Ihre Familie haben uns beindruckt mit Ihrer ausgezeichneten Gastfreundschaft und haben uns auch gut beraten bezĂŒglich Essen und SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten in der Umgebung. Wir haben insbesondere Ginevras Hilfsbereitschaft sehr geschĂ€tzt (ich hatte mir einen Zeh gebrochen und wir mussten kurz das Krankenhaus besuchen). Sie ist wirklich eine tolle Gastgeberin, energievoll und mit vielen guten Ideen, die den Aufenthalt zu einem besonderen Erlebnis machen (z.B. was wĂ€re mit ein Picknick an den Römische Ruinen von Carsulae? Oder eine spontane VorfĂŒhrung wie man frittierte SalbeiblĂ€tter als Vorspeise vorbereitet). Wir haben sehr unsere informativen GesprĂ€che genossen (Ihr Englisch ist sehr gut). Es gibt eine kleine Locanda vor Ort, wo die Besitzerin nach Vereinbarung fĂŒr die GĂ€ste kocht. Wir können das nur jedem empfehlen, das Essen war sehr fein und die AtmosphĂ€re draußen am Kamin wirklich etwas Besonderes. Insgesamt, eine ausgezeichnete Ferienwohnung die wir weiter empfehlen können!

What a wonderful place

We stayed at Eromo Delle Fate for 2 weeks and it was 2 amazing weeks. It is a beautiful, luxurious place for both adults and kids. We enjoyed the two pools, the gardens, the restaurant, the animals and the kind host and her family. We will definitely be back. Umbria is a beautiful, green region with many small hilltop villages that are worth a visit. Bavagna, Montefalco, Trevi and especially Castelluccio were amazing and we can definitely recommend river rafting and cycling in the area.

Wonderful accomodation & location

We stayed at the 'I folletti' house for two weeks in June '11 and we just had a fantastic relaxing holiday. You wake up with a beautiful view over the valley of the Spoleto area and by car you are close to all the historic sights in Umbria. The hosting family and especially Ginevra made our stay unforgettable. She showed us all kinds of restaurants on special locations and was always there for information regarding cultural events, historic places and must-have-seen places. If you are planning a visit to Umbria, this property is the ideal place to stay and discover the beauty of Umbria. We would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Ginevra for a wonderful time.

fantastic holiday

We have just returned form a fantastic 10 days at the Folletti House at Eremo delle Fate. Ginevra and her family really went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful. Our teenagers had a great time. Ginevra organised white water rafting, a night out at a local winery and a pizza party for us all. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

Out of this world - so good we've gone back twice

Marvelous accommodation which we've stayed in twice (July 2008 and 2011) set on a hill above the beautiful Spoletto. The family are wonderful hosts who take great pleasure in ensuring your stay is nothing short of wonderful. Not only do you have two beautiful pools to choose from, each property also has a private dining / outdoor area to enjoy. I can't recommend it highly enough. The family can also arrange riding lessons and rafting both of which are great fun for the family and make sure you stock up on supplies from the family cellar (wine and other local delicacies are available). We'll keep on returning to this delightful place
