Wonderfurl Summer Stay on the Bay in Owls Head

Beautiful home right on a small bay in Owls Head that our families enjoyed. Close to Rockland and several interests there, Breakwater/Owls Head lighthouses, and ferries/boats nearby to head out on the water. The home had some fun games and large gathering places inside and outside. Highly recommend staying here!

Great location

This is a great location for short drives to nearby harbors, restaurants, and lighthouses. The view is spectacular and there is plenty of space for birdwatching from the back porch. Definitely a top notch place!!

Perfect escape

We were looking to get away and relax. This was the perfect vacation for us! The house was very comfortable and clean. We experienced several beautiful sunrises, each one different. We explored Rockland and Camden. Lots of little shops and great restaurants.

Wonderful ocean side property.

Very nice well maintained home with bay views in quite private area. Convenient to all mid coast areas and quick access to Rockland stores and restaurants.

Wonderful stay!

We had a great time in this VRBO in Owl's Head. It exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well stocked, the house was clean and beautifully decorated, and that view- WOW! We will definitely look at renting here again if we are back in this area.

Comfortable Home

We enjoyed our vacation at this beach house. Loved the ocean view. Kitchen had everything we needed for meals at the house. Close to the little downtown. Was a peaceful beautiful property.

Beautiful spot

The house is beautifully situated on Rockland harbor a short kayak away from a beautiful beach. The house was a little dirtier than we would have liked upon checkin with a fair bit of black mold in the upstairs bathroom and on the window and doorframes. Other than that the house is well provisioned and in a great location

Beautiful Setting; excellent location

Well-appointed home in a perfect setting. Spend hours on the deck watching seabirds dive for fish. Excellent location for visiting museums and fine dining. A gem.

Great home, great location

I can't say enough about this house. Beautiful accommodations, close to some amazing restaurants and museums, and a view that made returning to the Midwest all but unbearable. The house had everything we needed for a great trip, down to the lobster pot and crackers.

Perfect stay in Rockland

Very comfortable home with a fantastic waterfront view. Well stocked with kitchen items, smart TVs, and kayaks. It was incredibly easy to get into to town. It was nice to have air-conditioning when the weather started to warm up. We had a top-notch experience.

Terrific View

I wish I could have stayed longer! The view was great, very relaxing. House has just about everything you can imagine that you would need. The only criticism I could make was the on the stairway going down to the beach. It was little shaky when you got down to the bottom, but did not deter us from going kayaking and swimming!

Super location

This house has the most amazing views from the deck. We saw beautiful sunrises, rolling fog, and scudding clouds as the tides came in and out. The beds were comfortable. Location is great, close to Rockland, Rockport, Camden, Owls Head and Thomaston. We had great meals at McLoons and Ada’s Kitchen. Hiked at Camden Hills Stare Park, Owl’s Heads Lighthouse, Beech Hill Preserve, and Rockland Breakwater. Only disappointment is the ability to kayak. We did not feel safe using the steps down to the water, never mind trying to carry a kayak down.

Girl getaway

We are six women who have vacationed together for 29 years. We loved our stay at your beauitful house. The house was great. It was well furnished and had everything we needed. Sue and Valerie did a great job of handling our reservations. Thank you so much for sharing your house. Rockland and the surrounding area is beauitful. We have a great time touring parts of Maine. We also left a bit of money to sustain the economy.

Owl's Head Perfection

We rented this beautiful home for a family vacation with my brother to be near our cousins during the beautiful Friendship Sloop Races in Rockland. The location was perfect – looking over a beautiful yard and cove beyond. The house was roomy for all seven of us, comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The rental was pet-friendly for my brother's dogs. There were kayaks for our use and we were able to launch our paddle boat and skull from the shore. We hope to stay there again in the future!

Great location

The house was very clean, and essentially as described in the VRBO listing. The main living area is on the second floor, with large sitting and dining areas, complemented by a very spacious deck across the entirety of the water-side of the house. The location on the southern outskirt of Rockland is excellent for quick access to the town's many restaurants, shops and cultural sites, and for day trips in the area. One thing to be aware of if your party has members who have any difficulty walking, is that the main/second floor is up a very steep set of stairs from the front door and garage.

Owls Head rental

The rental was exactly as shown and described on VRBO. It was an extremely clean property, furnished nicely, and the kitchen was well stocked. The view of the water was especially nice at high tide, the deck is quite large too. The only concern was the steps leading down to the water to launch the kayaks was steep and cumbersome. For our age group being older, it was a chore to go up and down the steps with the equipment. However, very pleased with our week long stay !

Celebration of my 75th birthday

Everything was perfect!! Beautiful home and setting. Perfect location. Every amenity available. Plenty of room for all 8 of us to have private space, as well as gathering for meals and leisure activities. Jennifer was absolutely terrific!! I booked months in advance. She was available at all times both before and during our stay. She deserves applause for her courtesy and work ethic!! Many thanks.

This house was perfect for our family of 8 plus two babies. Kitchen provisions teally great.

We had a truly memorable family vacation in this capacious, accommodat home. Magnificent views across the bay, amazing sunrises and moonrises. Searched for planets around the fire pit, enjoyed the provided kayaks,searching for sea glass and sitting and eating on the deck. Lots of nearby activities including two visits to Crescent beach,lighthouses, ferry ride to Lawson’s Quarry on Vinalhaven, great farmers market on Thursday, Farmsworth, galleries and shopping, Children’s and Transportation musrums(perfect-for our one rainy day) and a schooner ride out of Camden. A lot of time was enjoyed on the deck,”trying to memorize the view “.

Fabulous Maine Retreat!

We had a house full of family including two children , ages 4 & 5. Everyone enjoyed this week of vacation! The house is lovely, clean (and fully equipped), and well located at the center of all our activities, allowing us to take easy day trips further away, such as Portland (headlight) and Freeport (LLBean & shopping) and Acadia/Bar Harbor. Owls Head and Rockland of the nearby towns (Thomaston, Camden, Rockport) had so many cute shops and restaurants. We loved being able to hike Owls Head, Mount Battie & Acadia. We all enjoyed a few nights roasting marshmallows at the house firepit and seeing planets appear and shooting stars. Plus, some in our party enjoyed taking the kayaks into our gorgeous quiet cove. All in all, a beautiful, memorable week!

Everything was great. We basically used the house as a base and traveled out everyday.

The house was very clean and was as it was advertised. There were a couple of things that needed fixing which we discovered after being there a few days. The ice maker was very unreliable, 2 of the rocking chairs had cracked rockers so we didn't use them, and the front screen door had a separated screen on the left as you go out. We did not see the elderly neighbors but the ones directly across from the house were overly nosey and even took photos on one occasion when we left the van in front of the house for a couple hours before heading out again.

Amazing rental

We had an amazing week stay at this house. The only negative part about the trip is that we only rented it for a week, we didn't want to leave. The check in was super easy, and we were encouraged to reach out to the management company if we had any problems, which we didn't. The view is spectacular. If you have not visited Maine before, the tide change is quite extreme and at low tide the cove is empty. The three men/boys that are in our family enjoyed that as they searched for crabs and anything else left behind. The cove was a great place for kayaking, and we brought a few of our own. The neighborhood was super quiet and the property provides full privacy. The house provides all that you will need to entertain large families for meals and relaxation. The time on the deck was relaxing, and we had a back yard fire multiple times. We had 7 people and there was room for more. So glad we picked this house, and it was worth the money for an amazing vacation. There is so much to do in the Rockland area, either land or sea based activities.
