The Cottage on the Creek, perfekt beläget på ett utmärkt läge vid stranden av South Fork i Rio Grande, är en två sovrum stuga med över 400+ fot direkt tillgång till floden i guldmedalj landet. Med ett stort bakdäck med trappsteg in i floden har den ett vackert dekorerat, avslappnat boende i bergsstil för ett par, en liten familj eller kanske två par som reser tillsammans. Romantiskt sovrum har en king size-säng, 3/4 badrum med duschkabin (ett standardhuvud, ett handhållet huvud), gripstänger i dusch och toalett, satellit-TV och privat sittgrupp för två. Ett mindre, andra sovrum har en bekväm drottningssäng med fullt badrum tvärs över hallen. Båda sovrummen hälsar gästerna med eleganta detaljer som lyxiga sängkläder, frottérockar och sängchoklad.

De stora, ljusa vardags- och matplatserna erbjuder gott om utrymme att koppla av, titta på TV, läsa eller spela spel. Köket är fullt utrustat med stora och små apparater, grytor och kastruller, köksredskap, disk och glas. En tvättstuga, intill köket, har en tvättmaskin och torktumlare i full storlek, strykbräda, strykjärn och lagringsutrymme för extra utomhus / skidutrustning, etc.

För gäster som behöver handikapptillgänglighet, slingrar en böjd ramp sig upp till den täckta entrén på verandan. Alla stugor och bakdäck är på en nivå - inga trappor. Däck ligger direkt ovanför floden och erbjuder mat- och sittplatser med fantastisk utsikt över floden, bergen, skogen och klipporna. Börja dagen på däck med en tidig morgon kopp kaffe och avsluta dagen på däck med ett kvällsglas vin. Fredlig och perfekt på alla sätt.

Wine in the afternoon overlooking the river is a favorite time for our guests. Coffee in the morning at the river with the sun coming up is . . . well . . . it's a toss up! Really, you can have BOTH there at the Cottage. Glad you had a good time!

Perfect Property

This is an amazing place, we will be back annually. You are in the center of the best fishing in the state and the property is made for the non-fishing guest to stay and relax right on the river.

Great way to spend Christmas

Five stars...amazing location on the water in a beautiful and well-appointed home! The hosts are very kind and have thought of everything you need. We loved staying in Southfork and used it as a launching pad for various fishing, Alpine Loop, and hiking adventures.

Perfect accommodations! Extremely clean and decor was very nice. Loved the river being steps away from your back door. Porch swing and firepit area were great bonuses! Felt like home

We felt like we were at home, but with an added spectacular view! Very well stocked with everything we could need. Loved the fresh-baked cookies, coffee supplies, and mints by the bed. We would definitely stay here again

Quiet Cottage on the Creek

Great place to stay. Right on the creek. Beautiful serene environment. Cottage is well furnished and perfectly located for activities in South Fork. Owners are very nice and well organized. Loved our trip.

Relaxing!!

Snowboarding trip to Wolf creek

We stayed at the Cottage for a snowboard trip starting New Year’s Day. The house was great for me and my two boys! We will plan on visiting again. The location to the ski area was great and it is a quiet town which was perfect.

Great second stay

This is the second time we stayed for our wolf creek ski trip. Everything is perfect for our needs and we plan to be back. The cottage is stocked with everything you need. Location is great. Only good things to report.

Keith and Laurie Bratton, owners of Cottage on the Creek and the adjacent bed and breakfast property, have their family roots in the San Luis Valley, specifically Del Norte and Monte Vista. Grandparents homesteaded just up valley from The Cottage on the historic Million Ranch, so there are strong sentimental ties to South Fork and the surrounding area. They added the 2-bedroom cottage to their B&B property in 2016 as a way for guests to enjoy privacy by river under the cliffs and have been booked ever since.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Coming back to the San Luis Valley after being away for over 30 years, we chose the South Fork area in general and the property in particular because of its beautiful location. At the time of purchase, there was an existing house and a few outbuildings on three riverside acres with everything in need of great attention. Repaired, remodeled and redecorated, we opened a beautiful bed and breakfast facility in 2001 and have happily hosted countless guests in the years since. The house featured here on Vrbo and now known as the Cottage on the Creek was built in 2007 as a private home and converted to a vacation accommodation in 2016 and has been making fisherman happy ever since. Upscale and intimate, it is designed to comfortably host small parties only--one or two couples or perhaps a small family. Combined, the main inn and the Cottage on the Creek can accommodate up to 14 guests.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We love to share with our guests the experience of waking up to the sun peeking over the cliffs, the freshness of the crisp, mountain air, and the wake-up calls of the birds on the river -- a perfect way to start the day. And, as the perfect ending, we recommend relaxing around the glowing embers of a dying fire and toasting up a few sweet s'mores. As darkness falls, the silent show in the night sky is not to be missed. The star gazing is, well . . . AMAZING!
