Om boendet

Vingården är i slutet av en stor gammal Gersoise bondgård, så inte riktigt en ladugård, men var den gamla vingården och granary. Konverterad till en hög standard med så många autentiska produkter från den gamla gården är den gamla vinpressen fortfarande i sittäte och vinfat är inkorporerad i köksområdet, även taklamporna är gjorda av tunnborrarna. Ägare bor i bondgård så på plats för några frågor.
Grundbutik erbjuds för första natten och om så önskas kan en lagad måltid tillbringas till vingården för trötta gäster.

Det finns ett stort stort vardagsrum med soffor, fåtöljer, ett långt matbord med kökshörna. Vacker gammal armoire rymmer all köksutrustning plus viktiga matlagningsingredienser. Massor av utrymme för vuxna och barn. Vi har ett skåp fullt av gamla brädspel och andra traditionella spel, lego, leksaker för yngre barn. Filmer för alla åldrar och franska TV. Elektroniskt musikcenter. Det finns också en bäddsoffa.

På övervåningen ljuset gården sovrummet har en dubbelsäng och eget badrum, Louis Philippe sovrummet har en dubbelsäng och privat duschrum med stor duschkabin och ett dubbelrums rum (separat tillgång till duschrum från en dörr i korridoren).

Sovrummen har blivit inredda med smak och antikviteter, många snygga bitar har kommit från en lokal chateau som handmålade arkitekter över dörrarna och gamla tvättställ med roligt fossilt handfat. God kvalitet sängkläder och handdukar. Poolhanddukar tillhandahålls också.

Poolen är i ett privat område med fantastisk utsikt över den rullande Gersoise landsbygden. Andra sittplatser är prickade runt fastigheten inklusive ett skuggat område under 300 år gamla ekar. Bordtennis, boule, trampolin, cyklar ..

Poolen delas med ägarna och enstaka husgäst i huvudhuset.

Vandringsled som passerar huset leder uppför backen där det finns 360 graders utsikt. Helt fredlig, bra för promenader, cykling, målning ..

Hundar, katter och hästar bor på la Raillere, liksom ägarna, många olika sittplatser runt fastigheten. Det finns en damm.

Beautiful, peaceful location

We had a lovely week here and would happily have stayed longer - a beautiful and very peaceful location but lots to see locally and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend!

Merveilleux endroit

Séjour très très agréable au milieu de la campagne gersoise . Reposante et vallonnée. Accueil très chaleureux plein de de petites attentions! Nous recommandons pleinement le gîte d’Amanda.

Visited for a wedding in June

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Jegun. Amanda and our Husband where excellent hosts and the house is beautiful in a wonderful location. My family and 18 month old child loved our stay and would recommend anyone visiting the region would stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic Holiday!

What a wonderful time we had at La Raillere with Amanda and Collin. We could not have wished for a better host and hostess. Very helpful and can recommend nice restaurants and places. We were with two adults and two children aged 5 and 9. The house is fully equipped and very spacious. We enjoyed all the animals around us and the kids got to ride the horse. The pool has a beautiful view! In summary, we had a fantastic holiday! Very relaxed, have had good food and drinks and visited nice places. The good life! Thank you Amanda and Collin. Hope to see you again!

Séjour reposant

Nous avons passé 2 semaines à La Raillère, en famille. Le gîte était spacieux, lumineux, très confortable et les chambres décorées avec beaucoup de goût. Le temps n'a pas été toujours clément mais nous avons pu profiter de superbes moments à la piscine jusqu'aux couchers de soleil ! Merci pour votre accueil. Les enfants ont passé de très bons moments entourés des animaux du gîte.

Séjour de charme

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine avec nos trois enfants. Location de charme « rustique chic », grande pièce à vivre très agréable par grosse chaleur, 3 chambres très confortables, point de vue magnifique depuis la piscine et le chemin surplombant la maison , espace extérieur au milieu des vignes et figuiers. Excellent accueil. Idéal pour découvrir cette belle région du Gers.

Nous avons passé une semaine magnifique dans un lieu charmant tenu par Amanda et Collin qui sont aux petits soins pour nous. Ils sont bienveillants et attentifs à ce que tout se passe bien. Accueil chaleureux en plein cœur du Gers

Nous avons passé 2 semaines en famille, 5 adultes avec un bébé de 8 mois et nous quittons l'endroit avec regret. Tout était parfait. Les chambres décorées avec goût, la piscine à la vue incroyable. La table de ping pong et le jeu de fléchettes nous on fait passer de superbes apéros !! 2 semaines dépaysantes pour nous, sans parler de l'accueil adorable d'Amanda et Collin, 2 hôtes vraiment aux petits soins. Présents et discrets à la fois et plein de délicates attentions, nous avons eu le droit à des œufs frais, des confitures maisons etc. Toujours de bons conseils pour parcourir le coin , commerçants, marchés, restaurants, pub etc. Nous recommandons la Raillère sans hésiter même si c'est une adresse qu'on aurait presque envie de garder secrète, rien que pour soit !! Nous reviendrons, je l'espère sincèrement.

Wonderfully relaxing place to stay

Beautiful location and in a lovely area of the Gers. Fantastic views from the gorgeous pool. Plenty of great walks including straight from the house. Lots of charming villages and towns close by. A super place for a relaxing holiday!

Do it, you won't regret it!

We are a family of 5 and stayed with Amanda and Colin for two weeks in August. Communication was prompt and helpful, even when we had lots of questions. They even offered to cook a meal for our arrival! We arrived after a looooong drive and were met by the owners who gave us a brief tour and suggested we cool off in the pool. What a pool it is! The photos really can't do justice and we spent time relaxing there every day. The pool is saltwater and really gentle on skin and eyes. The outlook is beautiful and totally private. It was also kept meticulously clean through the whole of our stay. They had also left us a pack of essentials in case we didn't have time to pick up supplies. The house is wonderful, furnished with french antiques ( my daughter (11) said it was the poshest house we'd ever stayed in) but loads of convenience too. The broadband was fast enough to stream, essential when travelling with a teenager! Beds were lovely and comfortable, top quality linens and pillows. Definitely not your usual rental! Amanda and Colin are lovely hosts, always about when you need a bit of local information but not intrusive. When one of our party was taken unexpectedly in to hospital they could not have been more helpful. The setting is perfect, totally relaxing but within easy reach of lots to towns and markets. We would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful place.

Quiet holiday home in stunning countryside

We enjoyed a memorable family holiday at La Raillere in July 2018. The house, which adjoins the owners’, is on a hill with a pool as pictured, surrounded by stunning scenery amidst arable farms and fields of sunflowers. This house is the perfect place for a quiet break away from it all. Downstairs offers one large open plan room with the kitchen and a large dining room table and chairs; two big comfortable sofas are by the TV. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The downstairs room is wonderfully cool as it faces north. Upstairs there are 2 rooms with double beds and a third twin room, all are beautifully decorated and we found the double beds very comfortable. One double room overlooks the owner’s garden and another the lane and fields. The owners provided delicious homemade produce which we loved: honey, fig and plum jams. The pool area is stunning, and sitting there with a good book it was very easy to unwind. We didn’t know this area at all and enjoyed exploring: Larressingle, Lavardens and Valence-sur-Baïse where we enjoyed a robust lunch at La Table d’Emma. Auch is about 25 mins away. The Friday morning market at Vic- Fezensac buzzes with locals and tourists alike and the town also has excellent restaurants. Jegun is small with a Petit Casino selling the basics including milk, there's also one restaurant, an Irish pub and an excellent pharmacy. We found out during our stay that there are many walks in the area so on another visit, it would be worth being better prepared. A circular route goes past the house, of which we walked only half as it was so hot. The owners have two dogs, two ponies and a cat, all friendly! We found the outside table and chairs at the front of the house not so comfortable for eating at. The only other downside were the flies! But these did not detract from our enjoyment. The owners couldn’t have been kinder, were on hand to answer our questions and pointed us in the direction of an excellent local vineyard. We enjoyed hot weather, punctuated by terrific storms which cooled us all down and the breath-taking sunsets were unforgettable. This was a truly refreshing holiday.

C'était PARFAIT....!!!!!

Nous avons passé une semaine chez Amanda et Colin, et ce fut un vrai plaisir... L'endroit est charmant, le logement et les couchages sont parfaits et les hôtes vraiment sympathiques. Pour exemple, comme nous arrivions tard, Colin nous avait préparé un repas (hachis parmentier tout juste divin... Que l'on ne me dise plus que les Anglais ne savent pas cuisiner...!!!!) Le logement est grand, propre et tout y est pour passer un très bon moment, la piscine a une vue sublime... Amanda nous a donné de précieux conseils sur ce que nous devions voir dans la région, et ce fut un grand plaisir de discuter avec eux. Merci à tous les deux pour cette excellente semaine, nous reviendrons... Florence et Thierry

We are well travelled. Colin was a stockbroker for 30 years, since then we have been entrepreneurial with a variety of creative businesses.
We live on site in the farmhouse. We love to share this special place with guests, the peace, the fresh air, local wild boar and deer pate, and homemade jams.
Amanda works from home in recruitment.
We share our home with 2 friendly dogs, 2 cats and 3 horses (one a mini Shetland).

Varför värden valde detta boende

People say it's a little paradise. You will sleep peacefully. Far away from traffic, fabulous views, wonderful walks straight up the hill - the chemin rurale passes the property so we do get the odd walker/biker/rider.
We have restored the 18th century farm with sophisticated taste, using as many old beams, doors and windows as we could find hidden away plus architectural features bought from local chateaux. Bathrooms are comfortable, beds and bedlinen top quality. Guests have said they appreciate the quality of the decoration in bedrooms and bathrooms, half English half French decor.
The kitchen is very well equipped and guests can ask Amanda if they require any specific kitchen machine that is not in the Winery.

The pool and attractive stone surround are private with far reaching views. We use the pool when it is free (evenings) We occasionally have guests in our house who also use the pool
The saltwater pool is an infinity pool, in the evening, swimming 'into' the sunset is sheer paradise.
The huge kitchen/living room means families can be together whilst chatting/cooking/watching a film.
Teenagers can stream if they wish.
Masses for children to play with, boredom even on a rainy day should not set in! There is a super efficient pellet burner for when autumn is drawing in, plus electric heating upstairs.
The Winery is comfortable for short longer lets (1-2months) during off-season times please ask us for special out of season rates
