🎥 Men en av våra favorit saker med Kanab är att det är unik historia för filmframställning! På en gång gjordes fler filmer i Kanab Utah än någon annanstans i USA utanför Kalifornien! Wow, det är mycket filmer och mycket intressant historia för den lilla staden. Hoppa upp lite popcorn och tillbring kvällarna avkopplande i vårt mysiga vardagsrum omgivet av foton från den roliga filmhistorien och se några av våra ständigt växande samling av västerländska vintage-filmer här.
Inte i gamla västerlänningar? Inga problem. Strömma alla dina favoriter direkt genom vår helt nya smarta TV. Vårt nya uppgraderade fiberoptiska nätverk innebär ingen strömningstid! Ta med egna lösenord för andra visningsalternativ med dina egna konton. (Vi har inte direkt eller kabel-TV)

♿️ Rullstolvänlig efter design! En annan målmedveten design från MyStarVR. En nivå, inga trappor och bred ingångsdörr. Vi vet att det kan vara svårt att hitta tillgängliga boende (särskilt om du vill ta med ditt husdjur). Nu har du ett val i Kanab. Vårt cowboy-sovrum har en 36 ”ingångsdörr med 52” skjutdörrar i badrummet. Nollinmatningsduschen gör att rullning i enkla och bekvämt placerade gripstänger är en stor hjälp när du behöver lite balans. Om det behövs finns även duschpall, toalettlyftstol och sängsäck. Great little bungalow

Super cozy and well themed. We enjoyed a western from the dvd collection each night to get a feel for the film history of the area from days gone by. Will definitely stay there again.

Great Stay!

Charming comfortable western themed home in a quiet neighborhood. Fun movie set yard. Beautifully decorated bedrooms, bathrooms, and living room. GREAT showers. Well supplied kitchen and plentiful tourist information. Kanab is a cute town and is a great base for exploring beautiful Southern Utah.

Great place to stay!!

We truly enjoyed the house, the town and all the wonderful things to do in the area. Sharene and John have gone to great lengths to create and warm, wonderful home in Kanab and we didn't want to leave!! From the way the home was decorated, to the attention to detail throughout the home and the comfy hammock under the trees to relax in after a long day made this stay wonderful. Great place to stay and we look forward to visiting again!!

Outstanding!

This place was VERY unique in decor- not cookie cutter at all. It was INCREDIBLY clean (and we are particular). It was EXTREMLY well outfitted with kitchen utensils- we cooked every breakfast and dinner at the unit.

COVID getaway

Could not have asked for a better place to stay. We met the sweet home owners whose attention to detail was amazing. So much to see and do in Kanab. We plan on a return trip some day.

Our second stay in this adorable house. The house is fully equipped with every thing you need. Extra touches everywhere. Very unique decorating. Great communication and easy checkin. Love it! Centrally located to all the big attractions.

Great location, fun decor

Cute place. Perfect for me and my husband. We each had our own suites! It was well stocked and having laundry was a plus! It was in the upper 90's so the covered porch was great especially at night with the twinkle lights. Within walking distance to downtown. Would stay again. Hosts were great!

Exceeded our expectations!

Sherene and John have gone above and beyond to make vacationers staying at their Western Star vacation rental feel welcome and at home. Western Star was not only very comfortable but had so many extra touches, such as a hammock, supplies needed for day trips like coolers, sand boarding supplies, lawn chairs, etc. The history, decor, and art added to this being the best vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in! I highly recommend staying at the Western Star!

This Western Star is a STAR!

This home is the most fantastic place we have ever stayed in!! The owners' John and Sherene are the best!! The house is their baby and they have spared no expense making it perfect! It is beyond belief that they choose to share it with strangers, but we are glad they did!! If we ever plan another trip out west, we will definitely visit Kanab, UT and will stay in THE WESTERN STAR!!

Lots of fun!

This house was so fun to stay in. It was very clean and supplied well with everything we needed and then some. The decor was so great with lots of things to look at. There were a lot of great movies to choose from. Centrally located for all the places we wanted to go. We loved the notes left throughout the house with explanations and things we needed to know. There was information on things to do and places to eat. We loved this house and would for sure stay again and we will recommend it to others. Thanks for the fun place to stay!

A GEM! A MUST STAY!

We have rented a lot on VRBO I saw this place for my birthday and thought how fun. My husband who is not so fun lol a great man but has a hard time relaxing when he entered he was so taken back by the detail and the cleanliness. He is also a builder/welder and saw the love that was in this place. Such a great stay and a wonderful area. We traveled and did so much and had a place to come back to that was so comfortable, relaxing. Communication with the owners were great! If the highest rating was a ten we would go above and say a 15! Thank you for such a wonderful getaway!

Star In Kanab

The Western Star is in a perfect location for day trips out to Zion, Bryce, Coral Sand Dunes, Lake Powell, Horse Shoe Bend, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The Western Star ⭐️ does shine out in the neighborhood. Living space was adequate for 4 adults, but we bumped into each other a little in the hallway to bedrooms. The attention to detail in decor displays the creativity, and labor of love of property owners. We were fortunate to spend some time with the owners, they are a delightful couple, and wealth of information of the area. If you get a chance to meet them and have time ask them to tell you a “STORY”.

Like a Home

This property is so well put together and creatively prepared that I can’t think of one thing the owners didn’t think of first. A clean property with a well stocked kitchen, a cozy little living room, plenty of TV options, nice bathrooms, cozy beds with plenty of pillows, warm quilts for cool nights, laundry, a relaxing yard and plenty of peace & quiet for a good night’s sleep. Since we were two girls staying in the property with a rental property sign in front, we considered safety. However, we quickly got comfortable and thought no more about it. The owners are real friendly, responsive and truly care about the quality of your stay. . Kanab is a neat little town with interesting Hollywood history that is surrounded by some of THE most beautiful American parks in the country. We adventured all around the area and returned each afternoon to the hometown coziness. This property provided the most pleasant place to recharge our batteries.... and our phones (lol). We loved it.

-When we married 41 years ago John told me “We may never be rich, but I promise you we will never be bored!”. That was an understatement. Once in a while, I confess, I just want to be a little bored. Life is always an adventure in our family. Recreating this home has been no exception.
John loves to travel and got me hooked. So even though we are both native Utahns, we try and see some part of the world every chance we get.
John also loves to create stuff. An artist at heart! So building the Western Star has been a combination of loves. Attempting to see travel through your eyes as we have created the bungalow has been almost as fun as going somewhere new ourselves.
If you have a hankerin’ to talk about old cars or Rat Fink, give John a call. If you’d rather talk about creating costumes or quilts, Sherene is your gal. We both enjoy ATV riding, back-country hiking, and old movies.
We are so happy to be full-time residents of Kanab since 2022. We have always loved this southern part of the state, done lots of backpacking here, and were thrilled when we had the chance to purchase this home in Kanab at the end of 2015.
We have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Life is good!
We are excited to have you come and share some of the great sites that southern Utah has to offer.
