Båda studiorna är identiska, en är spegelbilden av den andra. Varje har queen size-säng gjord av lokal röd cederträ. "Fire poster" stil baldakin / myggnät. Sprängmadrasser.
Vi har en utdragbar enkelsäng och en barnsäng för ett barn. Stort Whirlpool kylskåp / f, Saffire spis med integrerad grill, brödrost, vattenkokare. MIXER. Porslin / bestick för 4 + krukor / kokkärl
Små Personliga Säkra. Vit bomullslinne och handdukar.
Du kan se utsikten utan att gå ur sängen! 2 uppsättningar av louvered röda cederdörrar öppnar ut mot balkongen.
Badrummen är "våtrum", helkaklade och av god storlek.
Rummen är naturligtvis ganska coola men det finns också bärbara fläktar. Taket är högt och med kaklade golv är det ganska häftigt hela dagen. Härifrån har vi knappast många myggor alls och en bris blåser de flesta dagar.
En mängd lokala fåglar kommer runt, vegetationen är ganska frodig och vi har mango, banan, tasspott och färska örter etc som växer i trädgården. Wi-Fi tillgång hela. BBQ

Carpe Diem Villa färdigställdes i slutet av 2007. Hantverkskonstruktion över ett block bottenvåning. Det är vårt hus och utformades för att USA ska leva i och byggas av lokala material som använder alla lokala arbeten. Hela punkten i huset var att utnyttja utsikten över Castara Bay. Det ligger tillbaka och 80 meter över Northside Road i byn Castara, en liten orörd fiskeby på den karibiska kusten i Tobago. Du hittar inte jetskis etc men du hittar lugn och ro och en chans att verkligen slappna av. Stranden är säker och hålls ren av byborna. Livräddare är i tjänst under dagen. Det finns inga hustlers! De är vanligtvis bett att "gå vidare". I byn är guider och båtmän att ta dig in i regnskogen, besöka vattenfall, ta dig fiske och sedan till en grillfest fångsten på en avskild strand. De lokala barerna är vänliga med lokalbefolkningen, expats och besökare som "limar" tillsammans. Brott är nästan obefintligt. Fastigheten är täckt av 8 säkerhetskameror.

Serenity, calm peaceful

Carpe Diem is a wonderful place that provides serenity, calmness and beautiful views of Castara Beach meeting all your basic needs. Yvonne and Chris are wonderful people and the most responsive hosts we have met. They aim to please and have thought about almost everything you might need. It would have been nice and more enjoyable had the apartment had a microwave, paper towels and some wine glasses.The hummingbirds feeding right outside our apartment were delightful.There is no AC and for us that became an issue especially after the short but steep climb back from Castara beach !Panday their friend and gardener picked us up at the airport after a red eye , took us back to the airport and we hired him to drive us to Englishmen’s Bay. He is a gem and full of knowledge.We enjoyed Carpe Diem and the village of Castara and we recommend it !We enjoyed our time there!

Gorgeous & peaceful

If you're looking for an all-inclusive, luxury, resort-style vacation get away, Carpe Diem studio is NOT for you. If you're looking for wild, all-night parties and clubs then the entire small, sweet town of Castara is not for you. If a few mosquitoes could ruin your vacation, keep looking. You could find an air-conditioned place, near night clubs in Crown Point, or just stay in Trinidad or go to Florida. (Also, if you have a difficult time walking on stairs, you might want to find a different studio.) However, Carpe Diem in Castara was exactly what my companion and I were looking for. The studio is clean, airy and comfortable. The town is laid back, friendly and not overrun with fellow tourists. The deck is at the canopy level of luscious jungly forest that tweets and rattles all day long with vividly colored birds. Just beyond the tree line is a breathtaking, spectacular view of the sea. Sunsets are heavenly. It's a five minute walk to a little beach with excellent snorkeling. We were there towards the end of "tourist season" and we hardly saw anyone else. It's a 10 minute walk to the larger beach, where you will find a few more tourists during the day, as well as a grocery store, open-air restaurant and beach bar, and the local fishermen coming and going. It's a 15 – 20 minute walk to a beautiful waterfall and a cool, fresh-water pool. The groundskeeper Panday, and caretaker Carolyn were wonderfully friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed, gave us good recommendations and arranged transportation to and from the airport and ferry. (Panday even picked us a big bowl of fresh mangoes.) We loved every minute of our vacation here, even the rainy ones.

the most rewarding way of being a tourist

A paerfectly equiped flat with a great view of the sea and lots of trees. flowers and birds around. The owners were very welcoming d and are prodigal of informations about the place, the people and the way the every day life goes on, so you feel able to integrate in a way you don't normally encounter when you are on vacation on your own in a foreign place.

relaxing retreat!

This place is the perfect holiday getaway. The apartment was clean and the view was even better than pictured. The caretaker to great care of us indeed, with good communication and some recommendations as well. A short walk to all the essentials of town and the beaches.

Incredible views & 5 star hospitality!

We went to Castara for the Thursday night beach bon fire & live steel drums! What a lovely place! And I cannot say enough about Chris & Yvonne, such an amazing couple, we had a lot of fun with them. We will DEFINITELY be back next year.

Castara charm

We enjoyed our time in Castara and Chris and Yvonne were helpful and considerate hosts. The room was nicely outfitted with all the necessities including 2 much appreciated fans (AC is not on the menu and we booked knowing and not wanting it). Castara is a charming small town and we enjoyed meals at most of the usual spots. The hosts provide tons of useful information in a guide in the room. We used Castara as our base to poke around the island and we hiked in the park, went to beautiful Englishman’s Bay, went on a snorkeling trip from Speyside including a stop in Little Tobago. Like others have noted, issues with the bank machine in town continue and it is not well stocked with cash. Chris and Yvonne were working to get it resolved, but I suggest to bring the cash (TT or USD) you will need. Head to Castara and enjoy the beach, the food and life in the slow lane. And grab some fresh baked goodies at the beach (put your order in the morning for afternoon pick up).

Spacious studio flat in amazing location

Chris and Yvonne gave us a warm welcome and were so helpful in connecting us with local guides and steering us to the best places in Castara and beyond. The flat is a comfortable self-catering space with a really good bed and the balcony is joyous with wonderful exotic birds coming to the feeders right in front of you. The view through the lush tropical greenery to the sea below outstanding. We had a very special trip and will certainly be returning.

holiday in paradise

Excellent well equipped accommodation with a comfy bed and lovely views from it! Good cooker with oven meant we enjoyed a change from the local restaurant staples which were of a very good standard if a little of the sameness. Chris and Yvonne were genial and helpful hosts who involve themselves in village life and impart lots of info. Boat fishing is good.

I have spent all my working life to date making things happen for others. Building this house is Yvonne and myself making it happen for us and as a bonus we have been able to create a beautiful place for others to enjoy as much as we do.
I was in the live music production business and Yvonne was a property manager for a local estate agent in the UK. We have worked hard and still do as few of us are really ever able to retire early and enjoy the fruits of our labors. We call it semi retirement.!
You only go around once so you cannot let life pass you by. We all do and then it is too late, you do not get a second chance. We love life.
Living or staying in Castara is about as good as it gets!

Varför värden valde detta boende

I was sitting on the hillside when it was all scrub looking out at the view of the bay after I found out the land was available and said 'This is it!'.
We decided we needed to stop thinking about a house in the sun and actually build it before we were too old to enjoy it!
Then we could share it with family and friends. We fell in love with the village after coming here on holiday and getting involved with the aftermath of the only hurricane to hit the island in a 40 odd years. We were made welcome from the start.
The area and the village, beach, the people etc just tick all the right boxes for us. You only get a chance to do something like this once.
You can say lets look elsewhere and then think why did we not stay in Castara.
Opportunities like this only come once in lifetime...Carpe Diem..."Seize the day"

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Castara is a friendly working fishing village set at the edge of the rain forest on the Caribbean side of the island..., it has its own waterfall & pool, great beaches, rain forest, a reef, good fishing, sunshine, I am sorry but we would have been mad not to have said yes!
It is away from the busier south of the island with it's more tourist oriented areas but still less than an hour from the airport and main town of Scarborough if, and it is a big if, we ever need to go there!
We can walk down to either beach , shop go for a drink without needing a car. We buy fresh fish or catch it ourselves, local produce is there at the end of the road or actually in the garden. The best mango tree is behind the house, they drop, roll down and end up by the kitchen door!
At the end of the day we have the one of the best views in the village and it would have been selfish not to want to share it.
