Riverside Cottage är en lugn liten fristad för två, bara ett stenkast från East Stour floden. Vackert inredda och med utsikt över jordbruksmark, det här är en härlig plats för en avkopplande semester med stora vandringar från dörren och en bra pub, Farrier's Arms bara en minuts promenad från ytterdörren. Observera att den endast har parkering för en bil. Bynshoppen för alla dina väsentligheter är ungefär en mil längs vägen. Katedralen Canterbury ligger bara 30 minuters bilresa med ett underbart utbud av museer, restauranger och kaféer att välja mellan. För ett äventyr hopp på tåget på Eurotunnel som ligger precis på vägen och på 35 minuter kommer du att vara i norra Frankrike med sina vackra byar och vackra stränder. Den pittoreska kuststaden Hythe ligger bara 20 minuters bilresa med vackra stenstränder och båtar att hyra på Royal Militray Canal och den berömda Wildlife Park Port lympne ligger bara fem miles away. What's not to like!

This is wonderful accommodation in a picture postcard setting. Property is extremely well presented with everything you need. Location could not be better. If you like village settings and archetypal country pubs on your doorstep, then this is for you. Highly recommended.

Holiday in Kent

It was a beautyful cottage, best place to chill either in the cottage or in the Garden. There was also place for our bycicles. We enjoy to explore Kent by bike or car also the pubs near by. We can commend Riverside cottage.

Peaceful, relaxing stay in delightful accomodation

The perfect accomodation for 2, very clean with lovely decor and everything we required. Although next to owners home, felt private with Own entrance and lovely views of the countryside from a small patio area. In a nice village location and the choice of 2 local pubs both very friendly with great food and one only 2 mins walk down the road. We enjoyed Rye, Hythe,walking in the area and the Steam railway, would have visited Port Lympne wildlife reserve if weather had been better. But lots to do within half hours drive from this accomodation. Highly recommend.

Riverside birthday

Pleasant little cottage on edge of village. Convenient for lots of places and easy access. Nice to have a topsheet on the bed for hot weather, as lots of places don't which is crazy hot with just duvet for summer nights. Would have been nice to have tea and milk, unusual not to be supplied, same for shampoo. The sofa in lounge rather uncomfortable for sitting for any length of time, would be better to have two comfy armchairs. Would give cottage a four out of five for these reasons. Host was a little impatient on day of departure by turning up with cleaning gear at 10.30am and not speaking, or asking if we'd enjoyed our stay, just as we were leaving.

Kent Idyll

We had three nights in this beautiful cottage. We had a friendly welcome from our host, the accommodation was spotless and exactly as the photos showed. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather which enabled us to walk around this village and sample the hospitality of both local pubs but even better to sit out on the west facing patio with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Would certainly recommend.

A Little Haven

My daughter and I were delighted with our stay - the sunny patio and garden area look out onto the countryside. The property was well equipped and the bathroom was roomy with plenty of storage space. The decor was very pleasant. Location for us was perfect for visiting family in Ashford, only a 15 to 20min drive away

Little Gem

What a fabulous little holiday cottage. It is well equipped, modern and very comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything that you might need. Incredible views from the back garden, and as it faces west, you get to see gorgeous sunsets. A small parking space outside which is your space, ditch the car and take a five minute walk up to the pub for dinner. Fantastic food but do book in advance. I would highly recommend this property.

Heerlijk rustige landelijke lokatie

Smaakvol ingericht /schoon Veel informatie over de omgeving voorhanden. Goede instructies bij evt calamiteiten. Omgeving is heel mooi evenals het uitzicht vanuit het huisje Zou dit zeker aanraden. Minpunt is het bed. Dit is laag en smal. Voor wat grotere mensen niet prettig. De matras is prima. Indien dit wordt aangepast is het wat ons betreft voor herhaling vatbaar.

Prima vakantiehuisje voor een korte stay.

Netjes, gezellig en volledig ingericht huisje. Het bed vonden wij erg smal, maar het matras sliep wel heerlijk. Prima compact huisje, met heel veel landkaarten en flyers om uitstapjes in de omgeving te doen.

Pleasant stay

We had a very pleasant stay at riverside cottage. It was very well equipped and tidy. The garden and view were wonderful. As it was exceptionally hot during our stay we could have done with something like a canopy. We can imagine you wouldn’t normally need one in Kent. A good inn nearby with great meals.

Stunning property and location

Vivian and Tony were lovely and friendly, very helpful with local attractions and directions. The property was spotless, very clean and tidy, bed was nice and comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. Garden was well kept and beautiful, perfect spot for watching the sun set looking out across the fields. We hope to come back again soon.

Wonderful peaceful break.

The property was ideal, it had everything we needed. The shower was great and the bed and couch very comfortable. The gardens are well kept and we had a beautiful sunset each evening. Vivian and Tony were the perfect hosts, and Vivian gave us lots of tips of where to visit. The pub just a couple of minutes walk away, was an added bonus. We highly recommend Riverside cottage, and would love to return when we can.

We are a retired couple enjoying our time together in the heart of Kent. Riverside Cottage has been a dream to develop as we enjoy meeting people and making their stay an enjoyable one.

Varför värden valde detta boende

This stunning self-catering holiday cottage is a short drive from the historic City of Canterbury (around 25 mins) which boasts a wealth of visitor attractions. In 1170 Archbishop Thomas Beckett was famously murdered in the Cathedral and thousands of Pilgrims play homage each year. The ancient ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church all form part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby are the remains of a Norman Castle built on 1080 by the Normans and the large stone keep was largely constructed in the reign of Henry1 (1100-1135) all are reminders of the City's history, heritage & culture. Other attractions include, The King's mile, St Dunstan's, West Gate Towers, Northgate and The Canterbury Tales. You can take one of the River Tours and absorb the City with a boat trip along the River Stour taking in the architecture and scenic views. There are museums, walking trails or guided walks to help you enjoy the narrow winding lanes. Canterbury is best explored by foot. Canterbury is a place steeped in tradition and is also a modern and vibrant city with welcoming bars, pubs, nightclubs, fine restaurants, and a High Street with independent and high street names. Canterbury Golf Course is 1 mile distance from the City Centre and was designed by Henry Colt ain 1927 at the same time as designing Wentworth. There are two famous “links” courses at nearby Sandwich, Royal St Georges (home to The Open Championship in 2011) and Princes (Open Golf qualifying course).

The evening can be spent watching the sunset from the lounge or if warm enough - from the sun loungers on the private patio. With panoramic views across the fields - almost as far as Ashford in the distance. And if you are lucky to spend the Autumn at Riverside you will be amazed at the fields full of Pumpkins or Rape seed oil plants.
