Beautiful, well appointed property...perfect for our large family.

Perfect Christmas!

Finally… a rental that can accommodate our whole family at ONE dinner table!!! We had the perfect Christmas at Ocean Rest! The other table was used for board games and cards! We will certainly come back to Ocean Rest at DeBordieu!

Excellent

We had a lovely stay. Your communications from reservations to departure were clear and timely. Attention to the ice maker was appreciated. The house was perfect for our very large family. It would have been better if the repairs to the floor around the toilet in one of the baths were completed.

Perfect for our family

This was the fourth year we have rented this house. The location, size and pool we love. It is down to one lounge chair by the pool. Some of the porch furniture and indoor dining chairs are in need of repair or replacement. We really do love it though!

What a dream?

This house is everything it appears to be and more! It made our stay a dream! The house is so clean, organized, functional, and gorgeous. The property management team is the absolute best! They answered every question, got back with us quickly and efficiently, and were so very sweet and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this home!

Wonderful time

The house was very spacious. I loved how all the of the kitchen cabinets had labels of the contents. The yard was large and beautiful. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the afternoon. We purchased the club social pass, and were able to eat at the restaurant each night. The food was amazing and the staff was so friendly. We had such a wonderful time! Highly recommend this house for large families.

Ocean Rest

For 2 years the drapes in the master bedroom will not open. That room is like a cave. It would not take much to fix that. No cable TV! The internet is a joke. Please upgrade.

Weekend at Ocean Rest

We started out on a shakey foot by not having information to get into the house. I hope the office now has the information that the keypad code to the garage needs to be given to any renters. It was not provided to us but fortunately George was close by and helped us CNN out. Then we found only two blankets in the house for 14 people on the coldest night of the year. We ended up turning the heat up higher than we liked in order to stay warm. Everything else was great. The house is lovely with great kitchen/cooking supplies. Housekeeping was super. Everything was clean and functional. We did enjoy our time there and have had great luck with Peace Vacations.

Ocean Rest

A more accurate rating for Ocean Rest would be "Difficult this year". This was our second year in Ocean Rest, and the space works well for our family. But the AC for the 3rd floor, the main space for gathering and meals, stopped working on Mon. and was inoperable for the rest of the week. Peace tried to ameliorate the sweltering conditions with stand-alone units. They were wholly inadequate, but better than nothing. We would like a rate adjustment and refund for this problem. Also, the oven frequently tripped a fuse which required resetting before it heated. We like the space, we enjoy the pool, and we have reserved OR for next summer. But this was not its or our best year.

Disappointing

My family was very excited to spend a week at the beach celebrating my nephews wedding. I picked Ocean Rest due to the size of the house and the hot tub. When we got to the house the hot tub was not working. The pool guy told us it had been broken for a while. My teenage kids were looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub. Another disappointment was the overall appearance of the house. The house was dirty. The sheet pans had to be washed before we could use them because they were very greasy. The porches and out door furniture had not Been cleaned in some time. The cost of renting the house in the off season was still very expensive , other family meme bets rented other cheaper options and they were in much better condition. Overall we were disappointed with our accommodations especially for watch it cost to rent the house.

Excellent

Thank you for your responsiveness when we called. Did miss the Debordieu bag, can coolers, and general information we used to receive to know when trash day was and the check out process. We were glad to see the new appliances in the kitchen! Wondering though about the bedroom with the 2 double beds and why there is no ac vents in that room-it gets pretty warm in there.

Great House

This was the third summer that my family has rented this house. Peace Vacations is quick to respond if you have a problem. I gave an excellent rating as we love the house and pool! The first year we stayed here, the owners had the house very organized, particularly the kitchen. All cabinets and drawers were labeled with the contents. I do not fault the owners, but this year the kitchen was awful. Previous renters did not put things back in their proper places. The pots and pans were filthy. Those that we used we had to clean and scrub before and after using them. There were pans on top of the microwave that had food and grease on them! Open bags of snacks were left in a cabinet. There were not enough dinner knives for everyone. The first year there were nice placemats for the tables. This year there were only a few. Also the drapery cords in the master bedroom were not working. This house Is perfect for our family and thus I have reserved it again for next year.

Peace Vacations Ruined our Trip

Our family is deeply disappointed in the support provided by Peace Vacations for our recent visit. Our party was made up of 2 grandparents, 4 parents, and 4 teenage grandchildren. We had many options that would comfortably house our extended family. We chose Ocean Rest for three reasons: (1) use of a private, heated pool; (2) access to a beach within walking distance from the house; (3) access to a clubhouse where we could dine on-site and as a place for our teens to hang out and our adult children to exercise. In the end, none of these amenities were provided. We were not informed that the property was for sale nor that it was sold. We would have insisted our reservation be cancelled…we have dealt with this situation and would have wanted no part of it. (1.) Despite talking with rental agents in February and again two weeks before our visit confirming that we wanted the pool open and heated, and despite being charged $1200 for that, we arrived to find the pool filthy with a tattered cover still in place. It clearly had not been touched in months. Calls to the rental office led initially to being told that the new owner didn't want to open the pool, then that your liaison contacted them that they had to make good on the previous owner's commitment, then the pool guy was missing a part, then that he was arriving on Monday, then that part didn't come in, and then……nothing at all other than refunding the money. (2.) We were informed that there was beach restoration going on in the area. We were not informed that this was happening within a block of the house, that the noise would be incessant and the nearest access point to the beach where cars could be parked was a mile away. (3.) We were initially told that our access to the club would be the same level chosen by the owners, i.e. that the access came with the house. Then we received notice that there was some sort of conflict between Peace and the club and we were on our own to negotiate access at a cost of $200 a day. When I called the club, I asked what we would receive for $200 a day. They said: a parking space at the club, that their pools would not be open, and we could eat in their restaurant when it was open on Thursday-Saturday. No use of the tennis or fitness facility or golf course. Very clear from their attitude that short term renters were not welcome. The house itself was adequate, if a bit worn, but all outside spaces were filthy. My grandkids cleaned the porch furniture so we could sit on the deck. My son-in-law cleaned the grill and swept the walks. As above, we could use neither the hot tub nor pool. I do not believe the pool person was ever called nor ever visited the property and we were put off with lies and excuses. The 3rd night was interrupted by an animal caught inside the wall at 4:15 AM…I reported it but no one ever came to the house. The final night was interrupted by the carbon dioxide sensors going off…no one had bothered to change the batteries. My husband unplugged them. So, was this a peaceful, restful or calming visit? NO! We made do with excursions outside the community. As my son pointed out, for $10,000 a week, we should not have had to “make do!”

Wonderful property with a few hick-ups

The home is gorgeous with lots of space for all. The kitchen was fabulous with every appliance and utensil imaginable, especially since it was Thanksgiving with lots of cooking. And that table!The smart home features made the HVAC a little intimidating and we spent one night cold until we called HVAC guy who fixed issues. It would be nice if the manager adjusted the heat prior to arrival. The hot tub was also not functioning which was something we had looked forward to. Communication was a little confusing with some issues addressed through VRBO app and others through regular email. Gate policies were all over the place (which lane to use? stop or don't stop with code?) depending on who was on duty. Overall a great stay. We'll be back.

Beautiful house, overall positive review

Ocean Rest is an absolutely beautiful home in a great location -- close to the beach and private with a very nice pool area. We loved all of that. The only negative was that it did not appear that it was cleaned at all prior to our arrival. The bathrooms were questionable (other than the master bath) and the floors were sandy and dirty (this is likely a cleaning company issue). On the positive side, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen has every single thing you'd need. Also disappointed that the club was not open despite beautiful weather, perfect for the pool -- our family would have enjoyed the outdoor dining and pool.

Excellent

Beautiful home with all of the amenities! There was plenty of space for our large group to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was very organized and had everything that we needed and we really appreciated the second refrigerator. The outdoor patio with pool and hot tub was amazing and we enjoyed it very much! The home is clean and well maintained-we would love to stay here again!

Beautiful Property

Really nice house. Nice space for a large family. The private pool, hot tub and fishing are a bonus. I also love that the beach is less than a 5 minute walk away. However I do think it’s time to upgrade some of the decor, the furniture is really dirty and old. Overall I would recommend this property.

Perfect for our large group!

We had an amazing time at this beautiful house for my best friend's bachelorette party! We stayed on the island the whole 3-days, enjoying the sunny backyard pool and short walk to the beach, but even with a packed house we never felt on top of each other or cramped. The living areas and bedrooms are all so spacious and are connected to the perfect number of bathrooms. We all said that this house was going to become our new bach tradition for all weddings going forward! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The Debordieu team provided all of the information we needed to get everyone onto the island and we're very quick to answer my questions about the pool cover on day 1. No complaints here... Other than we would have liked to stay longer!

Birthday celebration

This lovely home is immaculate. I loved relaxing in the pool and the spa. The spacious kitchen and adjacent dining area is ideal for large groups. I look forward to staying there again. There is an elevator which is handy for those who have difficulty with stairs and for taking suitcases and groceries upstairs.

A five star experience!

My wife and I stayed at this house last September; it was a great experience. The house provides a very serene setting for a large family and friends gathering. It is tastefully decorated and very well maintained, the large backyard (with spa and pool) and a huge balcony are ideal spots for entertaining, and the location is close to a nice beach. Additionally, DeBordieu Colony provides guests with many recreational amenities. We were very happy to stay at Ocean Rest and are looking forward to coming back.

Immaculate house with great outdoor spaces

I stayed there in September. The house was just a few minutes walk from the beach. It was large, clean and comfortable. It looked recently remodeled, almost brand new. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. What I enjoyed the most was sitting on huge the second floor balcony in the evening breeze and listening to the sound of the ocean.

Amazing location, amazing accommodations

My wife and I stayed at Oceanrest in September as part of a larger gathering. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for a second visit. Great accommodations, great location, great view, great area. Can't say enough good things about it.
