Denna fristående ladugårdsomvandling, intill ägarens hem, ligger precis utanför den vackra bevarandebyen Fordyce, 1½ mil från Moray-kusten. Byn är ett magiskt ställe, som är ett varumärke av smala gator och vackra hus som fortfarande följer en medeltida plan, och allt lindat runt en magnifik mittpunkt, Fordyce Castle, som bara sitter på en sväng i bygatan. Semesterstugan är mycket bekväm och varm och drar nytta av den panoramiska utsikten över både havet och landskapet, med de välvda franska dörrarna i vardagsrummet som leder till ett soligt sittande område framtill. Fordyce erbjuder också en attraktiv park mittemot den gamla kyrkogården samt en viktoriansk trädgård. Sandstranden vid Sandend är en snabb bilresa eller 45 minuters promenad från stugan, där lokal fisk kan köpas och surfare njuter av vågorna. Bra kustnära promenader finns i överflöd genom de gamla fiskelägena Portsoy och Cullen, eller alternativt reser inåt landet genom slott och whisky. Det finns gott om golfbanor i närheten, och variationen av fåglar och djurliv både på land och utanför kommer att glädja den angelägna naturälskaren. Butik, pub och restaurang 2½ mil.

Lovely cosy and well appointed cottage. Good view towards the coast and a short walk from the beautiful village of Fordyce. Next to fields and a wood for dog walking ( wet in October so take wellies ). Good selection of books, music and movies. Local information and ordnance survey maps provided. Short drive to the lovely beach at Sandend And coastal walks. Good back roads for cycling straight from the door and dry storage for bikes in the barn next door. No shops in Fordyce but short drive to Portsoy or Cullen for facilities. Well located in a great area to explore. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The house is very comfortable and extremely well equipped. A terrific view with two lovely outside seating areas if the weather is good. Very clean and tidy. The bed was slightly on the small side for us as we’re used to king sized at home but nevertheless it was comfortable. The local area has so much to offer and we would love to go back and see more! Lovely cottage in a great location with wonderful views. It was especially lovely to have it decorated with Christmas decorations for the festive period. Lots of equipment in the cottage along with DVD's , books, board games and information and maps,of the local areas. Fantastic stay.

This was my third stay and I enjoyed it just as much as on previous visits.

This was my third stay and I enjoyed it just as much as on previous visits. The welcome pack gives advice on a wide range of walks and things to do in the area and it is lovely to stay somewhere the my dog is welcomed rather than simply tolerated.

A great time spent at the Steading and the adjacent beaches the dog thought she had died and gone to dog heaven🐾🐾. I just admit that I lived on a mainly fish diet for the week. I would recommend the following, The Old Kirk and bistro Fordyce, the Royal Oak Cullen, The Station Hotel Portsoy among others. We did see the roe deer in the field in the top corner behind the steading

Lovely cosy cottage, fabulous views all round. Everything we needed. Welcome pack including treats for our dog. Owners checked everything ok but although they lived next door they were not intrusive. Short drive to lots of beaches, Cullen was our favourite with walk to Portknockie for delicious fish and chips. Pretty little village.

Third year in a row we stayed at tThe Brae, and it only gets better - not by much as it’s always been outstanding. New coffee shop in Portknockie now allows dogs and is worth a visit. The Royal Oak in Cullen also allows dogs and served great food. We have holidayed in the Moray Firth for many years, and this is the best value accommodation we have stayed in. Spotless - like moving into a new house.

This was our second holiday at The Brae which is probably the best recommendation we can make.

This was our second holiday at The Brae which is probably the best recommendation we can make. It is very clean and comfortable and in a lovely location; it's very quiet although that may change a bit during harvest time given that the property is overlooking a wide expanse of fields growing cereals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the spectacular weather ensured the double doors on the front the property were opened wide for uninterrupted views of the sea. The local hares are quite entertaining too!
