. Detta ljuvliga fristående fritidshus är ett bra exempel på ett Suffolk långhus från 1420 med snidade takbjälkar och ekgolvskivor. Den uppvärmda inomhuspoolen är privat och för gästerna exklusiv användning (öppen mellan april och slutet av oktober). Ligger i sitt eget stora trädgårdsområde med enastående utsikt över det öppna landskapet, är den rymliga strålade bondgården, som innehåller en vedeldad spis i vardagsrummet, den perfekta platsen för en familjesemester, en festsemester eller en sammankomst med vänner. Fastigheten är vackert avskild och ligger på en bondgård med boskap. Tre tunnland öring sjöar i närheten erbjuder flugfiske och rikliga vilda djur.
Staden St Nicholas South Elmham är inbäddat i historia och omgiven av Waveney-dalens vackra rullande landsbygd. South Elmham Hall, med dess gamla ruinerade minster och gårdskafé, nås med gångväg. En kort bilresa bort är den historiska staden Bungay, ingången till Broads National Park och anmärkningsvärd för sitt brett utbud av antikaffärer, restauranger, pubar och andra specialaffärer; cykel och kanotuthyrning är också populärt. 40 minuters bilresa. Även inom en halvtimme är Suffolk Heritage Coastline med de kända kuststäderna Southwold och Aldeburgh, RSPB-fågelreservatet i Minsmere och de mindre men lika charmiga byarna Dunwich och Walberswick. Butiker och pub 3 miles.

Excellent hosts who made us feel so welcome.

Excellent hosts who made us feel so welcome. A beautiful cottage with plenty of room for us 8 adults and 2 babies. The cottage has all the equipment you need for a comfortable stay and the pool was used everyday as it was the perfect temperature and a great size. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Half term break

Stayed with my wife and two kids and we loved every minute. Location was amazing, we don't mind being out in the sticks, and house was beautiful. The pool was one of the main reasons we booked and we used it every day We'd definitely stay again Thanks

Beautiful farm house in a magical setting both hosts Susan and Jack really lovely and helpful people! Had an amazing weekend away, so much character in the property beautifully done up and really comfy and cosy beds. The area is magical if you enjoy long walks and bike rides absolutely amazing for a leisure long bike rides! Only a half an hour away from beautiful sea side too. The pool was brilliant seize to have plenty of great fun the only little improvement we'd recommend is to turn up the heating on the pool a little apart from that brilliant stay! A lovely old farmhouse, comfortable and well equipped. The perfect place for a family of all ages. The kids were in the pool for up to six hours a day, mainly because when we were there the temperatures were up in the 30's. The menfolk were all into fishing so were relishing their time at the fishing lakes. A very relaxing time for all. Only downside was, because of the heat sleeping was difficult and portable fans in each bedroom would have been welcome, or more mesh on some of the windows to allow air through and not the flies etc. A tip for taller people, beware the low door frames or take a hard hat! Old Hall Farm House is a great escape - deep in the country. We loved the garden and the huge pool and bbqs on the terrace and spent lots of time just enjoying some space. The kids loved meeting the farm dogs and feeding the carp in the pond and watching the rabbits on the lawn. The house is a lovely ancient farmhouse with beams and uneven floors upstairs. If I could change one thing - it would be to have access to the garden from the kitchen. Great house and we will hopefully be back. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Just had a great week at Old Hall Farm house.

Just had a great week at Old Hall Farm house. The house was fabulous, very spacious and yet cosy, plenty of room for 7 adults plus a child. All the bedrooms were a good size and the beds very very comfortable. Despite its age the house has most of the necessary mod cons and its a great getaway from modern urban life. Unfortunately the previous week there had been very heavy rain in Suffolk and the downstairs toilet had suffered a leak, which affected the ceiling. But with three other bathrooms this was not a great hardship. We all loved the heated swimming pool, which was a great bonus, particularly in October and was a good size. The gardens with two ponds were a delight and my grandson thoroughly enjoyed feeding the carp. The location was very tranquil and one of our party made good use of the two Trout lakes just 5 minutes walk up the track, particularly beautiful early in the morning with not a sound to be heard but nature. As previous reviews have suggested the location is in the middle of the countryside and whilst beautiful some planning is required as a trip to the nearest town is about 15-20 mins each way in the car. But central enough to enjoy trips out to Southwold, Aldeburgh, Sandringham and Norwich All in all a great week. Thanks very much Susan and Jack, we loved it.

We had a lovely family holiday and the swimming pool was a great addition. The photos advertised need updating as the property does not look as advertised. The pool cover and furniture in the pool and the lounge are rather tatty and could do with updating. The shower didn’t work in one bathroom which would not have worked for more adults than we had. The fish pond was great for my little boy who loved going out to feed them every morning. Really good to have on the doorstep.

Excellent old farmhouse set in beautiful gardens in the rolling Suffolk countryside. Good facilities. Welcoming owners (leaving us a lovely cake and a pint of milk which we needed after long journeys). Excellent use made of good sized indoor heated swimming pool. The children loved the pool as well as feeding the fish. Lots of wildlife around the area. Good walks from the house. The Black Swan pub served good meals and was child friendly.

If you want olde worlde charm in a quiet location then this is it. The house dates back to 15th century but has most mod cons. Be aware though that soundproofing between a bedroom and the room below is non existent so bedroom assignment may need thought. No problem for 4 adults though. A couple of the old doorways are about 6ft. The broadband speed is enough to stream TV so if you have an App and can plug into the TV HDMI socket can you can watch your usual pay channels. There is now a new fridge freezer in the kitchen as well as in the utility room - so plenty of food space. The grounds are just lovely with two ponds - one full of hungry carp. There are birds a plenty and a family of Moorhens were fun. The adjacent paddock homes Oscar the ram and his small family. The heated indoor pool set in the grounds is unlikely to be rivalled in size. This is an idyllic get away from it location. There are some nice walks - see if you can find the mysterious lost South Elmham Minster. This was our 4th visit and we will certainly return next year.

We made our fourth visit to Old Hall Farm House in April this year. For those seeking peace and quiet (within a rural setting), the property is an ideal location for old and young. The owners, Susan and Jack, are busy working on the farm and bringing up their young family, but do their utmost to make visitors feel welcome. The swimming pool is an obvious asset and there are fishing lakes and plenty of interesting walks in the immediate vicinity. Maisie and David

Amazing house! Very, very spacious and cosy - especially in the living room with the fire going.

Amazing house! Very, very spacious and cosy - especially in the living room with the fire going. There are two rooms on the 2nd floor - good for teenagers wanting to get away from everyone else. The kitchen is well equipped with an Aga and electric hob - very useful to have that flexibility. Great views of the sun setting while eating at the kitchen table in the evenings. If you are so inclined, there is a trout fishing lake about 500 metres from the backdoor - down the trail. But, bring your own fly-rod and lures. The swimming pool was lovely and warm - just the thing after a hard day of walking around to see the sights. The walk from the house to the pool (in just a swimming costume) was bracing!! The cottage was very, very quiet and the blackout curtains were some of the most effective we have encountered - almost like being in an isolation tank.
