Excellent facilities.

Excellent facilities. Lovely location. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine, milk and bits to keep us going till we got to the local farm shop. Larmas, peacocks, pigs and chickens also welcomed us. Quiet, tranquil, beautiful and rural. The rooms are very clean and the cottage is warm and cosy. Remember to bring some DVD's for the evenings entertainment as the TV isn't a smart one. Highly recommended. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Only there for a long weekend in October but we were comfortable and warm and loved the cottage. Weather was changeable but it was that time of year. We went to Brixham and area one day and to Agatha Christies house another day. Ate out both days, all in all a great weekend break.

An absolutely fantastic place.

An absolutely fantastic place. The children loved the amazing animals (very friendly) and the fabulous pool (clean, warm and quiet). There is so much to do in the local area, for children and adults, we ran out of days!! We will be going back again though so it’s no big deal. The hosts are lovely and their ‘local guide book’ in the cottage was a wealth of information. Can’t rate The Pound House highly enough

We had a lovely 5nights over the Easter holidays. The cottage was very welcoming and was the owner . If we go to Devon again, we’ll definitely consider to stay there again . We tried to book a week in August but unfortunately it was fully booked.

Lovely stay and a wonderful welcome pack with bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and even a bottle of wine. The log fire was lovely, it’s a shame we ran out of logs and found the price for more a little steep. A great selection if games for children all ages too. Overall Pound house was clean. However, a few lightbulbs needed replacing and quite a few cobwebs upstairs. But overall a lovely stay and we would stay again especially when the pool is open!! The owner was also quick to sort out our heating problem.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pound House.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pound House. It was cosy, clean and well equipped and the wood burner made all the difference in the cool evenings. The location was excellent, there was a local pub, supermarket and even the zoo within a 10min drive. Plus the added bonus of being on a small farm with alpacas, pigs, chickens & the friendly family dog, Molly. The owners were helpful and welcoming and even left us a small hamper and good bottle of wine on arrival and let us have some fresh eggs for breakfast. We will definitely be back.

We have just stayed at The Pound House for a week in May half term. Wow! What a great location and beautiful cottage. There is a field right next to the cottage with llamas, pigs, chickens, peacocks, ducks and a goat. Our children loved seeing them every day and the animals really made our visit extra special. The bedrooms were lovely and clean, the beds were very comfy. We used the heated pool which was alot of fun. There was also a large trampoline and swing in the garden for the children to play on. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It was only a 10 minute drive to Paignton and roughly a 20 minute drive to Torquay. Would highly recommend this great little country cottage.

A very nice cottage, well presented with a friendly welcome from the owner. It feels tucked away but there are large supermarkets less than a 10 minute drive away. The outdoor pool is fabulous and really warm. The bedrooms are nice and well presented. The living space is good and the kitchen, although typically quite small in a cottage, has perfectly good, working oven, hob, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The outside space is lovely. Aside from the pool there is a field with various animals that our children loved and there is a good lawn area for games. Good parking space too. Paignton, Torquay and Brixham are in very easy reach and there is simply loads to do in the area including beaches, a zoo, Living Coasts, steam trains, castles, caves, a model village, seaside amusements and lovely countryside.

We visited the pound house during the last week of the summer holidays with our 6 year old, 3 year old and their grandparents. We could not fault the accommodation. It was cosy and had all we needed. The girls adored Mr Pop the peacock and all of the other animals. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and the pool was a wonderful addition. The accommodation was an easy car journey to the local beaches and lots of really good amenities and the owners were friendly and accommodating. In summary we had a wonderful week and were not ready to leave. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful break. The cottage was clean & very comfortable and the swimming pool was brilliant. The owners were very friendly & approachable. Our children loved all the animals. We’ll definitely be making a return visit.
