Tucked away strax utanför den mest populära gatan i Whitby som leder upp till klostret, är detta radhus stuga perfekt beläget med restauranger och pubar på tröskeln, och bara några minuter från stranden. Denna fiskare stuga på en gård av klass II listade fastigheter, oozing med karaktär, byggdes i början av 18th century. Det ligger över fyra våningar, med ett öppet kök / matsal på bottenvåningen, en rymlig salong på första våningen och sovrummen på andra och tredje våningen. Det finns en rad Whitby Jet butiker och intressanta småföretag längs många kullerstensgator. Whitbys berömda tipphus ligger precis längs vägen där du kan få dina färska tippar till frukost. Ta 199 steg upp till Whitby Abbey och njut av den fantastiska utsikten över den kuperade kusten. För de förrädare bland dig är Whitby en del av Cleveland Way där du kan njuta av fantastiska promenader längs klipporna. North York Moors ligger i närheten. Du kan fånga ångtåget att resa från Whitby över hedarna till Grosmont (Heartbeat Country) och marknaden staden Pickering. Det finns en härlig stor sandstrand i Whitby, liksom många utmärkta badorter längs kusten inklusive Scarborough, Filey, Robin Hoods Bay och Staithes.

great location in a quaint little cottage situated ideally just off queens street. great facilities but very steep stairs which was briefed in the description. would love to stay again and would recommend very highly.

We had a lovely stay in Ocean Cottage.

We had a lovely stay in Ocean Cottage. Well placed in a Central location with everything in easy walking distance. Everything supplied and very comfortable. Stairs can be a little challenging but the property was roomy and well presented. Albeit we had a problem with the boiler one morning, the management company dealt with the issue very quickly and with great courtesy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue.

Not as expected

Pleased with the location and privacy but the property is in need of a general overhaul & freshening up especially with regard to the paintwork on the stairs and that on the inside of the front door. The rug on the floor of the main bedroom is grubby - no longer white. When adjusting the sheet on the bed, I was shocked to see the state of the mattress protector - a lot of stains on it. The radio in the kitchen does not work. Finally, possibly a minor point, there are only 3 knives in the cutlery tray so if 4 people stay & happen to eat in, do they draw lots to see who gets the knives? We did enjoy our stay but you need to address the above if you expect people to leave good reviews.

Had a great holiday, the house was situated in a great place, the only niggle was the parking, but managed to get in a car park at the end of the street for 3 days at a reasonable price, the permit parking was a bit futher away. The house was well equipped, we all had a great time, a bonus we could take our dog too, would thoroughly recommend it. Doing the booking was very easy as well, and kept very up to date with emails too. All in all had a great time.

The location of the property couldn't have been better.

The location of the property couldn't have been better. As we took two dogs the proximity to open grass and the beach dogs were allowed on was brilliant. The accommodation was much bigger than we were expecting given the age of the property and other cottages we have stayed in in Whitby. I would thoroughly recommend the cottage and will be booking again in the future.

We rented Ocean Cottage during a weekend's diving from the marina. The cottage is ideally situated close to all the local amenities, but tucked away in a "yard" so away from the noise and bustle of Church Street. Overall we were very pleased with the accommodation. The only minor irritation was in the hand rails to the stairs. Although clean, the paint had a sticky texture which made the handrail feel a little unusual.

The cottage was so different to what I was us to at home, it was quirky (matched East Whitby) with one room per floor (4 floors). Sometimes you would forget where you were. The rooms are all decorated nicely and it was a nice touch to have a packet of biscuit, hot drinks,milk etc as a welcome pack. The only downside is the parking, but we got round that with the free parking permit which was included in our stay but it was challenging loading/unloading the car outside the alley. You would get use to it but daunting first time. Overall, it was one of my favourite holiday's, the location of the cottage made it for us, as well as the cottage.

We have enjoyed our time in Whitby for the last 20 years, 1st time in Ocean Cottage but it is in the perfect location for adults, kids and dogs. good value for what it costs and all you want when away from home, apart from the parking of course but the parking permits save you about £7 a day so accept the offloading through all the day trippers and load your car early when vacating and happy days.
