Öppen spis för att rostade marshmallows! Njut av Phillip Islands äldsta stuga. Vacker utsikt över Westernport Bay. Mysig på vintern och avkopplande på sommaren. För en mycket speciell upplevelse är detta ett vackert hem återställt till sin ursprungliga charm i en pittoresk miljö med lugn utsikt över vackra Swan Bay. Lämplig för par, familjer eller grupper. Öppen spis, välvda tak, ljuskronor och gammaldags charm smälter samman med modern komfort. Huset har fyra sovrum, två badrum, två vardagsrum, stort lantligt kök och matsal med vedspis för matlagning i hemmet och för de mindre äventyrliga, mikrovågsugn, elektrisk kokplatta / ugn och grill. Det finns också en örtträdgård och citronträd som kompletterar den bästa matlagningen.

De två förtjusande dubbelrummen med bekväma möbler i perioden och huvudbadrummet utgör en föräldrares reträtt från resten av huset. Ytterligare två sovrum har enkelsängar. Det finns två badrum, ett med separat dusch och ett enormt klö-fotbad för att suga in, det andra en dusch över badet. Linne kan tillhandahållas mot en extra kostnad på $ 20 / säng. Gå genom de franska dörrarna i ditt sovrum till det expansiva däck och njut av den hisnande utsikten över bukten eller njut av atmosfären i den 100 år gamla fruktträdgården och stugaträdgården.

Upplev charmen i historiska Rhyll med bara 5 minuters bilresa till öns största stad, Cowes, Penguin Parade och Grand Prix-banan. På kvällarna kan du koppla av på däck eller framför öppen spis och ta atmosfären i den vackra Swan Bay. Perfekt för par, familjer eller grupper.

What a wonderful experience we had staying at this delightful property. Wonderful location, great for picturesque walks with our darling Clifford the Wonderdog, and well located for daytrips around the island.

We enjoyed our first visit last December so very much we returned for a second visitThis property is nothing short of spectacular from the beautiful cottage , pretty garden and breathtaking viewsThe beds are comfortable with lovely linens, very clean with an excellent floor plan for family/friends get togethers. Cousins catching up

A fantastic two night stay with cousins who don’t see each other very often. We are the 5th generation of Captain Lock’s direct descendants and it was so special to be staying in the home he built and our parents lived in.

Perfect getaway

Most gorgeous cottage

Great location in a beautiful historic cottage. Absolutely love the place. Would definitely recommend Locks Cottage. Tons of room. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen but it looked fine.

A Relaxing Stay

A charming historic property with period fixtures and furniture. Extremely comfortable beds and a lovely open fire. Views over Swan Bay and walking distance to Rhyll pier and cafe. Will definitely be back.

A wonderful little cottage in a serene setting

Highly recommend Captain Locks cottage, the cottage has character that helps you sit back and relax it's a short walk to the beach, Rhyll jetty and the Rhyll shops. or short drive into Cowes.

Oldy-worldy charm in quiet location

A lovely old cottage with all mod cons in a quiet street just a minutes walk to the water. Views of western port bay from the deck, and it was lovely to be able to open all the doors and take advantage of the wrap around verandah and the multiple sitting areas to just relax with a book and a drink. Our second time staying here and hopefully not the last.

The house is beautiful

Apart from having to provide our own sheets and towels everything else was perfect! Just don’t open windows as most are broken and the fireplace was blocked or not cleaned so smoke was coming into the room, the size and location is perfect and we all enjoyed our time together in the house

We first discovered Captain Lock's Cottage in 2000. It was dilapidated but oozed charm. We renovated with the intention to retain all of it's history and original ambience. The cottage is very comfortable with all of the creature comforts you need for your holiday. The cottage garden was developed using plants from the original garden. It is truly a gem that won't disappoint.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Captain Lock's Cottage was built in 1869 and is one of the original cottages built on the Island. The first white child was born in the cottage! There is a plaque commemorating Captain Lock at the local jetty. The cottage was built in three stages by Captain Lock, the first part being built from sealer's huts from French Island that were dismantled and re purposed to build a home for Captain Lock and his family. We fell in love with it and saw the potential of restoring it to it's original charm. When we first peered through the windows we saw the original chandeliers hanging from the vaulted ceilings! The views were gorgeous and Rhyll itself had an ambience that we fell in love with. It is a dear cottage that all our travelers love.
