Rye House är en lyx fristående gård hus på den historiska egendom "Melross" i Kangaroo Valley. Beläget på 200 tunnland, är Melross allmänt vara en av Kangaroo Valley vackraste egenskaper. Hisnande utsikt från huset ser ut över kullarna i den spektakulära klippan brant som omger hela fastigheten.

Det finns så många sätt att njuta av din paus på The Rye House på Melross - ta långa promenader runt fastigheten och ner till floden, vandra över gräsmattan att samla några färska som ägg från höns, koppla av vid poolen och smutta på en latte från Aldi Expressi kaffebryggare, skapa en fest på grillen och njuta av din måltid med ett glas lokalt vin, gosa upp vid den öppna spisen, eller bara luta sig tillbaka och titta på djuren betar och njuta av den fantastiska utsikten från veranda. På kvällen tid, det finns inget bättre än en hemlagad middag avnjutas ute på däck blickar på den perfekta dalen stjärnor.

Men de väljer att tillbringa sin tid alla våra gäster säger samma sak: vi vill aldrig lämna!

Bara fem minuters bilresa och du är i den charmiga kåkstaden Kangaroo Valley, som har den livliga Friendly Inn och en utvald utbud av kaféer och restauranger.

Huset

Du kommer omedelbart att bli kär i Rye House på Melross. Huset har generösa veranda-talet, perfekt för frukost med utsikt över den fantastiska dalen.

The Rye House har fem sovrum - två med queen size-sängar, två med dubbelsäng och ett med två kung enkelsängar - och två badrum. Vi har också en porta barnsäng och barnstol för gäster med en baby. Huset är perfekt för familjer eller en helg med vänner.

Den öppna planen, luftkonditionerade matsal och lounge ger ett perfekt område för att umgås eller sitta tillbaka och titta på storbilds-tv. För dem som tycker om deras matlagning, kommer det välutrustade kök hjälpa dig koka upp en storm!

Utanför däck med utsikt över poolen är perfekt för middagar dag eller natt. På natten, våra gäster älskar att ha en middag med levande ljus på däck medan förundras över dalen stjärnor.

På Melross du kommer att känna som om du har världens till dig själv, men du är bara 5 minuter med bil eller en 25 minuters promenad från staden där du kan surfa butikerna och titta på världen passera förbi i en av de charmiga kaféer.

Om du känner dig aktiv, dalen golfbana, ridning spår, tennisbanor och kanotuthyrning. Längre bort kan du njuta av kåkstaden Berry (endast 1/2 timme bort) och natursköna Jervis Bay där du kan ha turen att upptäcka en delfin! I andra riktningen kan du njuta av de majestätiska fallen och två natursköna buskar vid Fitzroy Falls nationalpark (15 minuters bilresa).

A nice weekend retreat

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend retreat at the Rye House. It was exactly what we’d hoped for. Perfect for several adults with 5 bedrooms. The house is surrounded by farmland, is very quiet,with a nice outlook. All that and only a few minutes drive from Kangaroo Valley township.

not as described- dirty pool

we appreciated the lady owner inviting us to check in at 12pm instead of 3pm. we appreciated the Christmas tree for Christmas day and the arrival gift of chocolates and wine bottle. However, we expected the pool would be useable particularly that the property was described as having a swimming pool and we paid for it. But the pool wasn't clean and had sand and dirt sediments with a dead frog in it. we turned on the pump to attempt to clean it but realised quickly the water was reducing in the pool so we turned it off. we messaged the owner immediately. the lady owner replied a few hours later saying that her son cleaned the pool on the Thursday. I acknowledged that there were storms since Thursday. Later that day the male owner came on a quad bike and was abusive towards my husband accusing him of breaking the pump. The male owner then told us to pack our bags and leave! ( twice he said that). we were stunned! His son turned the hose on to refill the pool and the pump at the same time but the pool wasn't filling up and the dirt wasn't going away. the adult son then returned later that evening and acknowledged that the pump was broken and the pool was out of action. but apologised on behalf of his dad and asked us to stay. we stayed but we couldn't fully enjoy the holiday knowing the owner didn't want us there and we couldn't use the facilities advertised that we paid for. Also some of the outdoor furniture was very dirty so we couldn't use it. We left 2 days early.

Beautiful property

Beautiful property surrounded by well looked after, manicured gardens. We really enjoyed our stay at the Rye house. Only thing to note was the walking times listed into Kangaroo Valley in the description of the property state 25min walk. It is more a 40min walk with the first part being on a thin stretch of road along the highway. The hosts were very responsive to any questions before and during our stay.

Fun family Christmas

Our family really enjoyed staying in Rye House. The facilities are fabulous, a large living area, decks front and back, the comfy beds and the pool. Best of all was the sense of privacy and being in nature, the garden and the views. We were very grateful for the Christmas tree! This home is highly recommended.

Improvements

Although the property and gardens were lovely, we found there were a few things missing that should have been provided: there were no Serving spoons in the kitchen - i.e. nothing to serve a soup or casserole with; there was no scrubbing brush or similar for the kitchen sink; with the type of couches in the lounge area, there should have been cushions for lumber support. Other than that, all was fine.

3 nights stay with friends

Fantastic stay for a long weekend, this place is so quiet and secluded but has so much to offer. Kitchen was well equipped and all rooms very comfortable. Check in process was very easy, and only a short drive to the town Kangaroo Valley.

Family Getaway

Spacious home, great views although we didn’t see the cows grazing from our windows as on the website. Good quality linen and comfortable beds. Kitchen could be better stocked with a few extras for example platters salad bowl and cheese knives, unfortunately the dishwasher did not work effectively and the BBQ was not clean. Child friendly, loved collecting the eggs and feeding the horses and seeing the occasional kangaroo and wombat. Great family getaway next time will take loads of insect repellent as the flies were relentless. Was surprised there was no wifi included, selection of DVDs were good especially when our grandson needed rest time. Overall a very relaxing and peaceful time with the family.

Family weekend

Great house for a family get together, Very clean. well equipped, comfortable beds good linen and towels. Lovely grounds , the hen house and collecting eggs was a hit with the grandchildren, The pool is handy and a good size. Unfortunately we had atrocious weather but the house coped well with our group of 10. BBQ was a good size perhaps being undercover could be a benefit. Would definitely recommend this property.
