Relaxing stay

Lovely relaxing inside and outside fire to toast marshmallows on. Loved the outside bath. Beds were comfy and clean. Great place to stay for a girls weekend. We sat by the outside fire for most of our stay.

A peaceful break away from the chaos of the city

It was a great weekend relaxing around the fire. House was clean, beds were super comfy and having no internet or tv was heaven. The local town is just a few minutes away and worth a visit.

Perfect winter getaway.

Great property. Kids loved the fire pit and room to run around. Outside bath was a fun novelty. Cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable. Had an unexpected visitor drive in for shed tools which was a little surprising but all up it was a perfect winter getaway. Likely to book again. Thanks host!

Peaceful escape

Great to get out of phone and wifi range. Well heated and the outdoor bath was perfect. Plenty of space for the kids to adventure or play games by the fire. Close to Avon Bilya. Look forward to our next trip.

Lovely little cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, it was our second time doing so. We had alittle hiccup with the power at the beginning but it was eventually sorted and we enjoyed the stay. Love that there was no tv or phone reception.

Absolutely perfect

I don’t know where to start.. this place is a gem. Clean, fresh linen, very comfortable beds, picture perfect surrounds. You soon forget about not having tv, internet & phone service when you start to explore the grounds. Taking in the serenity while enjoying a hot bubble bath outside. Eating march mellows while warming up next to the fire pit. Sitting inside by the beautiful fire & actually talking...spending quality time with your loved ones. All your attention being on one another, not looking at your gadgets.. Not once did our 5 year old say she was bored. We will be back.

Lovely cottage escape from technology

We loved our stay, the fire pit was awesome. There is no tv or WiFi but plenty of games to play. It’s like being on a picnic everyday.

Could not stay one night

5 women looking forward to a great wkend. Property was lovely, so sat outside for few hours and as it was cold we went indoor. Within I hr there was 5 mIce running through the kitchen and living room. This completely freaked us out especially as we were only In the house an hr and realised there could be many more mice in a short time . We scrambled to pack up and get out quickly and had to drive back to Perth on the dark roads . Spoke next day with the owner. Was not happy with his attitude. Told us , not his fault if we had mice phobias. , and what did we expect in the country , he ranted on for some time about us living in the city and we should have expected this type of thing . My reply was for the house to be more secure and deal with the problem. No one wants to be in a house with mice running around. He eventually agreed to give us one night free after your discount ( which I now have ) He needs to have a much nicer customer service attitude !!

Like stepping back in time loved the cottage the fire was perfect.

Brilliant communication with owner quick response to emails. Absolutely spotless very clean and perfect furniture. We enjoyed the local wineries especially Coorinja only a short drive before town. Only one suggestion would be to place a sign facing the road the Cottage is on a bend which makes it easy to drive past. Otherwise it was the most peaceful and relaxing experience amongst the Bush and the birds sounded amazing. Thank you we will be back.

A night way

Four of us (two couples) spent the afternoon and night at Hoddywell Cottage. It was so relaxing. It was great to rediscover the lost art of conversation. We were comfortable and warm. The fire was lovely and cosy.
