Great place to stay, easy to access and great to have good food literally on your doorstep. Enjoyed the beer garden to chill in during the day and very easy to get Ubers or busses to and from.

Nice Historic Place

Chose this location to be able to walk to Brewers game - 20 min walk. Arrived on a Saturday and spent the evening between the Kegel Inn restaurant and biergarten. Room was comfortable and as advertised.

We had a lovely stay over Christmas in this charming apartment over an historic Biergarten restaurant. Would highly recommend it! Definitely oldy-timey, if that’s your pleasure, but it had everything (except towel racks in the bathroom & door hooks). The restaurant was amazing, and a drugstore & a few shops are within walking distance. Since in the winter it gets dark early, it would’ve been nice to have a couple of floor lamps to boost the old dim overhead lighting. It’s a 10 min drive to the third ward in Milwaukee—great restaurants & shops! We’d love to come back in the summer.

Absolutely Perfect

We have never been to Wisconsin before but came to go to Summerfest. Had a great time at this Vrbo. Perfect size and we loved the atmosphere. Check in and out was very easy. We felt very safe and liked not having to keep track of a key. The locks all had access codes which was very convenient. Would definitely stay again

Need TV instructions for what's available. Living Room ceiling needs repair. Bathroom mirror was dirty. But the room had the kind of charm I expected in an older property. Towels were great and the bed comfortable. So overall ok. thanks.

Great location

We loved the quaintness of this property. The apartment is above German restaurant & has a lot of character. My son & I came in to town for a Brewers game. This location was ideal as it was probably only 5-7 minutes away.

Weekend getaway

Check-in started off a little rocky due to unforeseen circumstances but once as I had contacted the owner about the situation he promptly made sure everything was taken care of and even threw in a little extra for our troubles. The one bedroom apartment was nice and cozy, better than any hotel room I could have booked. Neighborhood was quiet and safe and surrounding attractions were more than suffice. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for something a little different than a cookie cutter hotel room

We are Julian & Stephanie Kegel. We are the fourth generation operators of Kegel's Inn. My Great Grandpa, John Kegel opened this prohibition speakeasy in 1924 and ever since, has been the local's Goto for Authentic German fare in the city. We sure love our restaurant, our little city on the lake and the people in the neighborhood surrounding us, but we haven't always been restaurant folk here in Milwaukee. Stephanie & I met in 2010 while we were both guiding in the small coastal town of Seward, Alaska. Both of us, being from the Midwest, had fallen in love with the West Coast, the mountains and the fresh air that came with working in the outdoors. With several years of guiding behind us, we both longed for family support and the proprietorship that came with growing roots in the Midwest. We welcome you and the idea that Milwaukee is a great city, one we lovingly now call home. So please, kick back and enjoy your stay at one of the best-kept secrets in Milwaukee!
