Välkommen till Walaila Cottage! En cedarpanabod med fyra säsonger perfekt för familjer och vänner. Beläget på en lugn sjö med stora 160 fot strandlinjer, perfekt för bad eller slappna av på bryggan. Beläget i Haliburton Highlands, i huvudstaden för geocaching, finns det något för alla - vandring, cykling, snöskoter, avkoppling eller äventyr - du hittar det här!

Fastigheten har ett stort gräsytor som leder upp till bryggan eller en liten sandstrand. Perfekt för familjer med små barn, det möjliggör grunt vader eller djupare vatten för simmare och dykare. Vridnyckel, kom bara in och njut! Walaila är fullt utrustad inklusive BBQ, eldstad, utomhusleksaker, kanot och badtunna.

Great cozy cottage on a nice lake

We were celebrating the birthday of a family member who enjoys quiet and nature. We had a great dinner, enjoyed a fire and spent a great day on the ice and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. I recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

A Lovely Weekend Getaway :)

We had a really amazing time at this sweet little property a couple weekends ago! The cottage itself is extremely cozy, and while not huge - it felt like the perfect size for myself and two friends and could easily fit more if you have a larger group. We made use of the paddle boat, hung out on the dock, and spent a bit of time in the hot tub which was all glorious! The deck is spacious and cozy as well - we spent the chilly mornings out there with tea/coffee and our books :) We had a wonderful time here and would 100% come back to this property!! Just note that it isn’t as private as it may appear - there are neighbours on both sides, some trees and bushes separating on one end but nothing separating you from the other and the properties are really close together. Both neighbours had dogs wondering about (which was fine with us - we like dogs!) but just something to note if privacy is important to you!

Cozy lakefront cabin

Cute cozy cabin on Cardiff Lake! Nice area for a weekend stay, only 20 min from the South Algonquin entrance and High Falls hike (very nice!). The lake seemed very nice for swimming in warmer weather and we enjoyed canoeing the perimeter during our stay. The cabin is near Loop Rd, which has a reasonable amount of traffic, so we did hear consistent road noise sitting outside at the cabin rather than quiet peaceful woods. We brought our own bed linens and towels, but did not think to bring a kitchen sponge and drying towel for dishes which would have been helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and think the cabin would be perfect for a summer stay on the lake with the young kids!

Comfortable

We enjoyed our stay. It’s a very comfortable cottage. We would have enjoyed the outside more but unfortunately the people staying next door had two large dogs that they seemed incapable of leashing or keeping on their property.

Summer fun

We really enjoyed our stay. It was great to have the water front so close to the cottage. The weather was perfect and the cottage provided everything needed to escape and enjoy the outdoors.

Great cottage

We overall had a great time,water was beautiful cottage was very nice, there weren’t any kayaks as listed and we weren’t able to use the water lily pad as there were huge rips in it and looked rather old, and my kids were looking forward to the water activities, it was one of the main reasons why we booked here, that was rather disappointing, also no fire wood is provided so we had to bring our own, other then that is was a great get away

Beautiful clean cottage

The cottage is beautiful and well kept! Was very clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was also really clean! Views from the deck and dock were great the lake was very quiet. The cottage next to you is quite close and there isn’t much privacy. Luckily no one was there when we were there. Also linens are extra, not a huge deal as it was just 2 of us but if there were more of us I would be annoyed. Wish it stated that they were extra in the listing.

Unpleasant experience

We receive notice on the day we check in, which is linens wasn’t available unless we pay $25 for each person. Aalto, we have to drive at least 20 mins to drop off the garbage bags. It doesn’t provide any paper towel, foil, tissue, and garbage bags at all!!!Most important, it only gives us 2 rolls of bathroom tissue for 4 people in 2 days. This is very disappointed

Great experience at a Charming Lake Front Cottage

Charming wood cottage with great lake front access. We came to stay in the area to visit Algonquin Park. After hiking in Algonquin Park, we came back to a very nice hot tub. It was clean and hot! Then we lit up the bonfire and enjoyed the magical evening. We would definitely come back in the summer for swimming and fall for the colors. Actually, we think Cardiff Lake is as beautiful as any lakes in Algonquin Park. Thanks to Venessa and Troy for sharing your beautiful home.

Nice property

Had a great stay. Hot tub was great little bit of debris but not bad. Cabin was good size. The walk out porch was big and nice to have off the master bedroom. We’ll equipped kitchen. Dock was a bit on the small size but worked for fishing. All in all a great place will definitely rent again.

Nice place, a little dirty.

Overall the cottage and location are very nice. We loved having a swimmable waterfront and hot tub. The size of the cottage was also sufficient for our group (4 adults). Our only complaint is the cleanliness, specifically in the kitchen.

Perfect Summer Retreat!

I would highly recommend this cottage. Perfectly situated on a quiet and calm lake, the property has everything you could need for a break from the city. The cottage itself is a good size, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The upper deck outside is perfect for relaxing or meal times, while the lower lawn has a wonderful fire pit and direct access to a clean calm lake. The hot tub was a nice bonus! The host was very quick to respond to questions, and the check in process was smooth. I’ll be hoping to book here again next summer!

Great trip!

I can't say enough how clean and adorable this cottage was! It was a great stay. Lake was quiet. My only complaint is it's very close to us neighbours who, had visitors and there was 6 large dogs running around the property we stayed at, I had to block the entrance of the deck off so they werent coming on the deck. they were pooping everywhere too lol owners weren't even visible for the most part. I'm a dog person so I didn't mind all that much but I could see it being bothersome to others. So I just didn't like how close the properties are. Hot tub could have been a bit more clean. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

Nice cottage

We enjoyed our weekend stay. It's a small cottage, but has a large waterfront property with lots of grass area for kids to play. The deck overlooking the yard and water was also great for morning breakfasts and to relax in the shade later in day. Only feedback to prospective guests is that there really is nothing included at the property - you need to bring everything from linens, blankets, pillows to toilet paper and condiments. As well, the hot tub was really not maintained so it was quite dirty for our stay, which was disappointing as that was a selling feature for us and we would have enjoyed using it.

Married in 2008, we were keen to purchase a cottage property both being outdoor lovers.
After visiting Cardiff Lake and seeing only one cottage, there was a handshake and the deal was done! We fell in love with the property, a small cedar panabode for it's gorgeous frontage and view of the lake. Since that time we have made extensive renovations to the property, as our family has since expanded to include two small boys (Greer and Asher). Seeing the cottage and surrounding wilderness through the eyes of a child has been an amazing experience for us both, and we look forward to a lifetime of memories at Walaila (which by the way means hummingbird) visitors to the cottage in the summer months.
