Sweet stay in Schulenburg

After visiting the town of Schulenburg throughout my entire life, this was the first stay in a home other than that of my grandmother. What a truly beautiful and unique gem! The time slowed as we swung on the porch swing. I loved the lighting by each of the lamps. It was enjoyable to tour each room, wanting to spend time in each. The beds provided a sound night sleep. We were able to watch a movie on Netfiix easily. Overall, I wish I could've stayed longer here.

Painted Churches

Loved the location, so close to everything we wanted to do and see. House was decorated so well and close to period. Photos of the original family were a nice surprise. So much thought and planning went into making our stay extra special. Trains were a little noisy but otherwise everything was great! Would recommend to others.

Lovely home!

We stayed at Das Meyer Haus for 2 nights on our trip to visit the painted churches in the area. The home is lovely, the bed comfortable and the hosts provided a lot of information for the area. I deducted a star because there was a handyman working on the back of the house for the 2 days we were there. Also—please be aware that most of the restaurants are closed for dinner on Monday and Tuesday! I would advise avoiding those days for your stay.

Girl's Getaway

This was a wonderful home with plenty of bedrooms and spaces to just relax. It was the best equipped kitchen-better than my own. They had everything you could ever need for preparing and enjoying meals. The house is very nicely furnished and we enjoyed admiring all the rooms and their décor. We found enjoyable places to eat out and visited the painted churches. Overall, a great experience. Bonus-its right across the street from the police department!

Perfect Girls' Weekend

What a relaxing weekend! We loved Das Meyer Haus. So many details were thought of. We had everything we needed, Schulenburg had nice restaurants and shopping (one block over from old downtown) but not a lot of people. Dream property, if you love renovated old properties, this is the place to go!

From the moment you walk through the door and all of the exquisite details of the home, it truly takes you back in time. Very appreciated. Everything being labeled and explained where things were in the kitchen and how organized the entire home itself was, made our stay just that much more comfortable! I’ll definitely make a trip back to Schulenburg just to stay here.

Beautiful home in a historic area

This small house was beautifully appointed, and had a feel as if it were someone's house rather than a rental. In fact, I later found out this is the owner's second home! The beds were very comfortable and the location quiet making for a sound sleep. It was a great central location to travel around Schulenburg to visit the wonderful Painted Churches of Texas that date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Lovely lady

Loved every minute of our stay. Everything was lovely. Especially convenient to downtown. We walked to wedding reception down the hill and up the hill to breakfast. One block either way.

Ideal Quilters Retreat

The pictures do not do enough justice to how cute this home is. The home is well stocked with everything you could need. Even though there's only one bathroom, it's very spacious and central to all 3 bedrooms and worked very well for us. We had a small group of 3 friends, all quilters, staying here. The large dining table was perfect for setting up our sewing machines and quilt projects and when we were tired of that we retired to the living room to relax and watch TV while working on hand sewing projects each night. We would love to make this rental an annual meeting spot for our little quilters group. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!!

Surprise charges

Very cute house, but there is actually only 1 bathroom unlike the main description lists. The owner will also watch on camera to see how many guests you have staying and charge per guest. We originally booked for 3 guests and spouses ended up being able to come for the trip so totaled to 6.(under the max occupancy amount) About 5 minutes after we arrived the owner messaged me asking how many were staying. Upon check out we received an invoice for $226 for additional guests.

Great place to stay getting the painted churches tour

What a fantastic place to stay while soaking up the history of this area. My friend, Arturo Fuente, really enjoyed the large porch with the cool evening breeze. There is one bathroom, which is very clear in the listing. Claw tub is enjoyable; but, not as a combined shower.

Beautifully Decorated, Well Maintained Home

Had a great stay. Quiet neighborhood, wonderful home with beautiful decor. This is a comfortable home with real character, nice antiques, and everything you need for a comfortable visit. Kitchen was well stocked, much more available than we normally find at the homes we stay in. Quick driving distance to Warrenton and Round Top for the Spring Show!

Charming and comfortable

My mother and I stayed 4 nights during Round Top Antique show. We were so happy to come back to the cottage each day because it felt so quiet, cozy and relaxing being there. The property had everything we needed to feel at home and safe. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely book again
