Vacation in Paradise

This was an exceptional vacation. Our entire family of 24 was together- We utilized all 3 villas. The bedroom arrangement was perfect. There was a king bed an en suite available for us as well as each of our 7 children and their spouses. The teenage girls also had their own bathrooms and the younger boy cousins were all able to bunk together as well. Liza communicated all the requested information in a timely manner and was very accommodating regarding meals and helping with a late checkout.Miguel’s breakfasts and dinners were fantastic.They were greatly appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed by all.He immediately addressed a couple of plumbing issues when they were mentioned. The grounds were beautiful and the views incredible from everywhere. The villas were very tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of us to gather in any of the villas. There was plenty of sun and shade available outside. The beach was clean and the water only steps away. You could hear the surf from the sea side bedrooms.Miguel grocery shopped for us a few times and that worked out well. Puerto Morales is nearby and we went fishing from there one day. Many fish were caught and Miguel prepared them for us. By far the best fish that I have ever eaten! It was unanimous.We are booking our return immediately!

Almost Paradise!

Miguel was the consummate host, meeting us on arrival, serving as our chef for several meals, and generally just being wonderful! We love the beautiful villas, and the food was delicious. The only things I wish had been better were the bumpy road leading to the villas and having access to at least one bath tub. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere that was cleaner or more welcoming. I would definitely recommend, especially if you have a large group. We had 16 family members, and could have accomodated more.

Fantastic Family Vacation at Secret Villas

Our whole family - 12 adults and 12 children ranging from 1 to 16 stayed in the villa - we had the Shell, Boat and Fish villas. The villas are in a 24/7 gated community so we felt very safe at all times. The accommodations were great - plenty of rooms, everything was very clean and the houses have so much character. The villas are situated so close to the water with white sandy beaches and gorgeous blue Caribbean Sea. Having the 3 pools for our whole family was great as well. Liza arranged the shuttles for our travel to and from the airport and that went super smooth. Miguel cooked the welcome dinner and that was very good. We also had him cook another night where we choose the tropical fish dinner and the Mayan pork dinner and that was fantastic. We did appetizers on the day we did family photos too and that was delicious. The maids did a great job of cleaning up after all of us - which is no easy task! Any time we had an issues or needed something, Miguel and Liza got things taken care of as soon as possible. Puerto Moroles is very close by so several people went to town for lunch and picking up groceries. 14 of us also did a snorkel adventure through a man named Mario down by the pier and that was great as well. I'd highly recommend Liza and Miguel and their villas - you won't be disappointed. We hope to come back again someday soon as all our kids and grandkids LOVED this place! Deb K

Best Trip EVER!!!!

We had a large group and rented all 3 villas. The villas, property, pools, owners and beach were all amazing!! We had breakfast and dinners prepared by Miguel and the food was top notch. The villas were clean and charmingly decorated. We spent most of our time in the pools which were very well maintained. We had the entire beach to ourselves and even got to watch the turtles hatching and running into the water. We all agreed that this was our best trip ever and have decided that we will definately book this property again. Thank you for a great trip Liza and Miguel.!!!

Paradise

How do you please 23 people? You take them here, everything you want and more is at Playa del Secreto. Miguel and Liza make your dreams come true. Miguel asked me what my favorite day was, my answer was everyday. My family of 23 from all over the US met there and had everything they desired. Miguel is an awesome cook (he became part of the family) and Anna and Amanda were always there to clean and deliver food. I wouldn't change anything, it was perfection.

We Will Return

We rented all three villas for our family of 30. It was a perfect place for a reunion. The property owners were very helpful making arrangements for shuttles and excursions. We also ordered several meals from the owner who is a chef and provides a variety of Mexican food options. We plan to return in 2025.

Pools and Beach with food!

We rented all three condos. Miguel is a fantastic host going above and beyond. Be sure to order the steaks! Clean facilities with daily maid service. Our only down side was that there is not close shopping or restaurants within easy walking distance.

Amazing!

Miguel and his staff were amazing! From the Welcome Dinner, arranging taxis, the cooking class, food was AMAZING. There were 16 of us, and we rented all 3 houses. Unfortunately we did not use the beach as much because of the seaweed season, but not something they could control. Just as a FYI, if you have unused food at the end of your stay, please gift it to the maids. They are unable to take after you leave, but if you gift it to them, they are able to.

Family Celebrations

From our first contact to the day we left Miguel and Liza were only a text away. They had our shuttle ready for us at the airport and dinners every night were amazing. Worth the extra cost. We rented all 3 homes for a family of 17 and everyone had their own space and there was plenty of space for us to all be together. Having the option of the beach or pools met the needs of all who attended. Everyone left ready to book again with them. Thank you Miguel and Liza for helping us celebrate 2 graduations, a birthday, and a retirement.

Better than expected

We held a family reunion at the Villas at Playa Secreto for 26 people ranging in age from 6 to 73. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time and repeatedly said how nice the place was. We enjoyed walking right out onto the beach from the property and swimming in the beautiful ocean. When we wanted a break from the ocean, the three pools on property offered a fun gathering place. The villas were kept clean, cool, and comfortable. Liza and Miguel were super helpful and responsive both leading up to the trip and while we were there. They helped arrange transportation, gave us advice on places to go, and provided delicious food when requested. We could not have asked for better hosts. Thank you Miguel and Liza we truly enjoyed staying in your amazing Villas.

10 days in paradise

We absolutely loved our time at planned our secret all secret Beach villas. Accommodations fit the needs of our family perfectly while the beach was practically our own. Miguel and Liza were also so accommodating and helpful. The bonus is that he is such an amazing chef that the food we had while there was a genuine highlight. We can’t wait to come back

Hello let me introduce ourselves. My name is Liza and my husband is Miguel, and we are the owners of the Secret Beach Villas since 1997.
We got in to the Villa Rental Business quite by accident. We had traveled to Playa del Carmen on a few occasions for vacations. One trip while doing some exploring we decided to check out a road we saw off the main highway. To make a long story short, we found Playa del Secreto, fell in love with it, we bought a villa and decided to rent out when we weren’t using it.
We moved from the cold of Metro Detroit in 1999 to live full-time in the warmth of the tropics.
Miguel is a professional Chef and cooks for our guest if requested. He has several years of management experience with Club Med - he speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian. Miguel is a Mexican native whom lived in the States for years, he is a real people person (which sorry to say I am not, I’m the computer Geek.) He enjoys fishing and is a real Foodie, we take a lot of Culinary vacations. He is on Facebook and you can read his Passion for food
I owned an Engineering Consulting company in Metro Detroit that specialized in the statically analysis of automotive Camshafts and Crankshafts for the big 3. We had an AMAZING week and over-all experience! It was first class form the moment we booked. Liza is definitely all about customer service, taking care of everything and doing whatever it takes. We loved the beautiful villa, essentially having our own private beach and of course the great meals from Miguel and his team. They even went shopping for us ahead of time, arranged a rental car to be delivered and an easy airport pick-up. They were also always on-site and a phone calls away. Forget staying at a chain hotel or resort-this is where you want to be, can’t wait to book again!
